Chapter 10
-Zack's Pov-
After band practice, we all sat in Rian's basement, just hanging out. The other gus were having some random debate over proper wys to eat a banana. Yeah, those were my friends. I was usually sitting back observing their randomness, but this time, I was distracted by the fact that Sam was leaving in less than a week. I was going to miss her so much, hell, she'll probably move on without a second thought.
"Hey, Zack, Hey..." Rian said snapping his fingers in my face.
"Can you stop?" I asked, annoyed.
"I'm sorry. My mom's brownies are ready. What's with you? You seem more out of it than usual today," Rian knew me better than I know myself.
"I'm fine," I stated.
"No, you're not. Talk to me." He replied. I could tell that he was genuinely concerned, but I didn't want to worry him.
"Yes, I am," I said walking upstairs to join everyone else. I didn't feel like eating though. I really wasn't hungry to be honest.
"Hey, you want a bottle of water or something?" Rian asked me from the fridge. I nodded he took the bottle of water from the fridge and slid it down the kitchen island to me.
"Tahnks, " I mumbled as I opened the bottle of water and took a sip. I looked up from the table when I heard Alex's phone go off agaist the table. I. assumed it was a text. He read it and giggled to himself before typing a quick reply.
"Stop texting your girlfriend," Jack joked childishly.
"Leave me alone," Alex whined in the same childish tone.
"Who are you talking to anyways?" Jack asked?
"Sam. She said that her mom is putting her through hell for arguing with her the other day," He smiled. I froze suddednly. Sam never called or texted me. I honestly think she just wanted to get awy from me. I have no idea what I did or what went wrong. She didn't need me. She was just really trying to make me feel better. Well, she didn't have to anymore. I should just leave her alone until she leaves next week. She wouldn't be too bothered by it, I guess.
"Hey, you okay?" Alex asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm gonna go home now. I-I've got a test to study for." I rambled, spitting out a random excuse to leave.
-Sam's Pov-
-A week later-
I had just finished packing everything. I was leaving for the airport in twenty minutes. It was still a shock to me. This all came so fast. I really didn't want to leave, but on a brighter note, everyone was coming to say goodbye to me and my mom and I were on somewhat good terms agan. So, that's a plus, right? I heard a soft knock on my door.
"Come in," I said as I zipped up my last suitcase and lokked at my room that was now empty except for my suitcases.
The door opened slowly. I saw Alex's head stick in the room. He walked in slowly like a spy, his back against the wall. He scooted to the right to eventually meet me in the corner of my room. I laughed at his silliness. I was really going to miss him.
"So, this is it," Alex said softly.
"Yeah, I guess," I said, hugging him tightly, taking in his scent. I pulled away from him slowly.
"Would you like to help me with these?" I asked gesturing to my bags. He nodded, picked up a few suitcases, and carried them downstairs with me. Within a few minutes, everyone came to say bye, except Zack. He was probably just busy with something.
"Samantha. Say bye to your friends, we're leaving in about five minutes," My mom said from outside. Right then and there, it hit me, I'd never see these people again for very long. This was probably the end. tears started to roll down my face. I looked over to Kat, she was fucking hysterical. I have no clue wht she would do without me.
"Kat," I paused to wipe my tears away. "I tought you weren't going to cry." I smiled.
"You seriously believed that?" Kat asked, smiling.
"I love you, I'm going to miss you so much," I said hugging her tightly.
"I love you, too. Keep in touch, okay?" Kat asked hugging me tighter.
I moved over to Leikin, she looked a bit sad, too.
"I'm gonna miss you, Lei," I said hugging her tightly.
"I know, who wouldn't miss this," Leikin joked. I laughed slightly. "Don't get pregnant, though," Leikin added releasing me.
"I won't," I laughed.
"If you see my brother, tell him I said hi. Ok?" Leikin added
"Will do."
I moved to Alli next, she was crying too, but she was trying to keep a smile on her face like she always managed to do.
"I'm gonna miss you, Sammi," She said hugging me.
"I'm gonna miss you, too," I pulled back and moved to the last person, Alex. I hugged him.
"Sam, I've only known you for about a month, but you've grown on me like crazy. So, here's a 'lil suttin' so you don't for get me," He slipped a black and white "ATL" bracelet on my right arm. "I hope you're not allergic to rubber."
"Atlanta?" I questioned reading it.
"Why does everyone think that? It stands for 'All Time Low', that's the name of my band. It's the first bracelet we made," He stated.
"I'm sorry. Thank you, Alex, that's very sweet," I said hugging him again. "I love you guys. I'll miss you so much! I have to go now though, but I'll call and try to keep in touch," I said softly as I got into the car. I just really wish that Zack could've been there. I looked back at my house and waved to my friends. I was really going to miss them.
After some time, it was time to board my flight to my hometown.
"Ok, Samantha, here's your pass, your brother will pick you up from the airport. You will stay with him." She said kissing me quickly and escorting me to the gate. She did this in such a rush that I couldn't even respond to her. I hugged her softly.
"Bye, honey," She waved as I walked into the plane.
"Welcome aboard flight G85 to Denver, Colorado, the time now is 9:15 AM eastern standard time. We should reach at about 11:45 mountain time. So, sit back and enjoy the flight." The Pilot said from over the intercom.
Shortly after, we took off. I looked out the window to see the last of Baltimore, Maryland.
