Two Worlds Clash

"Believe me I failed this effort"

Alex

It was now Monday morning and I had just arrived at school. The weekend seemed to go by pretty quickly and I didn’t know if that was a good thing or not. I was starting to think that coming to school would be a good thing since I have Jack to hang out with now. He was planning on coming back over to my place on Saturday, to hang with me and my friends, but he had to cancel because some family thing came up. But on the bright side, he pretty much texted me the whole couple of days, and we got to know each other a little bit better.

Over the weekend Zack, Rian, and I all went to their side of town. I always liked where they lived a lot better than where I lived because people there were so friendly and always had smiles on their faces. I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to transfer to their school, it always seemed like such a nice place to be. Rian and Zack would always talk about new friends that they made every time they would come over. Which for them, making friends was the easiest thing to do in the world. Basically pretty much everyone loved them. They are sweet, kind, and caring. Very easy to get along with in this type of world. Even if they went to my school, I’m pretty positive everyone would still love them.

I was walking thru the parking lot of the school, about to reach the stairs to go inside when I heard the sound of an engine. I turned my head to the way the sound came from and I gasped and quickly moved out of the way of the parking space I was standing in as Jack turned into it. I glared at him as he turned off his bike and got off. “You could have ran me over!” I complained to him as he approached me.

“Nah, you’re a smart kid. You know better than to continue to stand in the way of something with wheels.” He replied as he smirked at me. I rolled my eyes at my, somewhat new-found friend, before turning back around and started walking to the stairs of the building. Jack soon caught up to me, throwing his arm around my shoulders and pulling me so that my head was under his arm, just to annoy me. “Not nice to just leave me standing there!” I managed to escape his grasp and glare at him, once again. “Don’t look at me like that. I’m still taller than you.”

“Being taller has nothing to do with being annoying.” I couldn’t help but let out a small giggle as the words left my mouth. We walked up the stairs and Jack held the door open as I entered the hell hole we were forced to go to. We continued down the halls, me looking down at the ground a bit, avoiding eye contact from basically everyone other than the ones that belonged to Jack, whenever he spoke to me. I still couldn’t get what happened on Friday out of my head. He told me he way gay, he made me sit on his lap, and before he left he kissed my cheek. It was like a dream come true. But, on the other hand, I feel like he was only doing it to mess around. Thinking that maybe after this whole tutoring thing is over, he can go back to knowing I don’t exist and maybe even use my ‘gay-ness’ against me, and turn out to be just like Ronnie. A jackass with a fucked up way of having fun, bullying the weaker ones.

“So, tutor-oh-mine, are we studying tonight or what’s up with that?” Jack asked from beside me, breaking me out of my own little thoughts.

“Uh, yeah, sure. We are going to have to study more than just once or twice this week. We have that test on Friday, and if you get at least a B on it, it will bring your D up to at least a C plus.” I answered as we entered the History classroom.

“Alright. I’ll give you another ride to my place tonight and we can work out what other days we can do this shit.” He replied as I took my seat in the front of the class. The bell rang a second later, not letting us say anything else, so Jack just went and sat in his seat. Which was a row behind me, and on the other side of the room. I turned on my music playlist on my phone and put one earbud in as Mr. Smith started the lesson for the day. I wanted to write down every word he was saying, as I wanted to make sure I had every single thing that might be on the test. That way it will be easier for me to help Jack out this week.

We were about twenty minutes into the lesson when another teacher came into the room and pulled Mr. Smith out to talk to him about something. I reached for my phone and pulled it out of my pocket, switching my playlist over to a different on. “Whatcha listening to?” A voice said right next to me. I jumped a little bit, not expecting anyone to be close to me. “You scare way too easily.” The guy chuckled. I turned my head a bit and Jack was there, squatting down next to my desk with his arms resting on the table. He reached for my earbud I didn’t have in and placed it in one of his ears. He smiled a bit when he heard the song. “The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, nice choice.” He commented as he continued to listen to it.

“What are you doing over here anyways?” I asked him as I pulled my headphone away from him and let it drop to my side.

“I wanted to know if you wanted to go off school grounds for lunch with me. My other friends are texting me non-stop, annoying the shit out of me and I thought it would be fun.”

“Well, if your friends are annoying you, by texting you all day. Does that mean I get to ignore you all day?” I asked with a cocky grin.

“No. Just means you have to deal with me all day long, again. Well, you were going to have to do that anyways, but you know what I mean.” He chuckled a bit again and continued to speak. “So will you come with me or not?” I nodded my head a bit and answered with a simple ‘okay’.

I got passed my morning classes, managing to get all my homework done from them before class even ended. Which means, I’m going to have to put up with a little fight with Jack about just giving him the answers. Because I’m not letting that happen, he will do his own work and he will like it.

I was walkin to my locker when my phone started ringing in my pocket. I pulled it out and saw Jack was calling me. Why couldn’t he just find me in the building? I clicked the green answer button and put it up to my ear as I shifted my stuff into my other arm. “What do you want?” I guessed with a joking tone.

“I’m outside in the parking lot. Hurry the hell up.” He stated casually.

“I just got to my locker! I’ll be out in a couple of minutes!” I internally groaned. He was saying something but I didn’t hear what his response was because I was slammed up against the locker bay. I let out a cry of pain as my head hit the metal. I dropped my phone onto the ground, even knowing that Jack was still on the line.

“Where’s Jack at now, huh? He can’t save you every fucking time can he?” I knew the voice to be Ronnie. He flipped my around and grabbed my by my collar, slamming me back into the locker bay again. I could already feel blood dripping from my nose. He collided his fist with my gut, and I doubled over in pain. I barely had my eyes open as I looked down to my phone on the ground. I could see that the plain call was transferred into a facetime by Jack. All I saw on the screen was his phone going back and forth, as if he was running.

Notes

A short chapter because I wanted to get something out for y'all.
Anyways, I had so much work on my plate for school right now. So many essays, projects, tests, and other stuff. All of it due by the eighteenth of this month and it's so much to do in such little time.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter though.
