Barakat, Jack Barakat

Chapter 50

“I hope you’re in a better mood today” Amy snarled at Jack as he came from down the stairs. She stood to walk into the kitchen, Jack following behind her. She turned to face him as he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into him. She rested her head on his chest and sighed.
“I’ve been such a dick lately” he stroked her hair.
“You can say that again”
“I can’t apologise enough, but I promise, I’ll explain why soon”
“So there’s a reason behind this?” she pulled away from him. He simply nodded not wanting to further the conversation.
“Anyway, I want you to go and get dressed. I’m taking you out. Wear something nice” he smiled. Amy just nodded and trotted off to get dressed.

“Oh wow” Jack stood at the door, watching Amy walk down the stairs. She reached the bottom and he got a good look of her. She wore a floral summer dress with a pair of white pumps. Her hair was loosely curled and her makeup was natural. Amy smiled at him.
“Well don’t just stand and stare. Let’s go” she laughed.

They arrived in the city centre and parked the car. It was a beautiful day, the sun blazing in the sky. The pair put on some sunglasses, and began to walk hand in hand.
“So where are we going?” Amy looked up at him.
“I thought we could go for a walk around the harbour. Look at all the boats and stuff” he smiled.
“Then I thought we could go for some food, then I have somewhere I want to take you”
“Okay, sounds good” she grinned.
The day was spent as planned. The couple walked around the harbour, stopping now and again to admire some of the boats docked there. They had stopped for food at a nearby restaurant, then continued to spend time in the Baltimore sun.
“I love this city” Amy smiled as they stood overlooking the water.
“It’s home” Jack smiled off into the distance. Jack pulled out his phone, looking at the time.
“We should head back to the car and get going”
“To this mystery place of yours?” Amy smirked.
“Yep” he grinned.

“Jack, where are we?” Amy asked, confused of their location as they pulled up. They exited the car, Jack locking it and taking Amy’s hand in his.
“Come on” he said, leading her towards the park they had arrived at.
“I used to come here all the time as a kid” he smiled at the memories.
“You still are a kid” Amy laughed.
“Yeah, but I mean when I looked like a kid” he laughed. They walked through, Amy admiring the the greenery of the leaves on the trees.
“This place is so empty” Amy looked around.
“Nobody comes here anymore. It makes me kinda sad” Jack frowned.
“OOH” he perked up, almost running towards the swings he spotted, pulling Amy with him.
“These swings right here are where Alex tried to impress a girl and ended up falling off onto his ass” Jack laughed.
“I see nothing’s changed then” Amy smiled, imagining a young All Time Low playing in the park. Trying to impress all the girls and trying to convince them how great their band was.
“You want a go?” Jack motioned towards the swing. Amy smiled, taking a seat as Jack stood behind her and began to push her gently.
“Do you ever miss being younger?” Amy asked.
“All the time”
“But I didn’t know back then what my future would be like. I wish I could go back and tell young me how great it gets. I’d tell him about the band. Our success. Our crazy fans. I’d tell him about you. I’d tell him not to give up on love because he’ll find it one day” he smiled. Amy could feel herself tearing up at his words.
Jack slowed down his movements, eventually coming to a stop. Amy got up off of the swing and walked over towards Jack who was waiting for her. She leaned up to kiss him and smiled when she pulled away.
“I love you”
“I love you too” he grinned.
“Come with me” he held out his hand.
The couple walked hand in hand through the park, the cool breeze flowing freely through their hair. They made their way up to the top of a hill to sit and watch the sky as the sun was setting. A range of pinks and oranges graced the sky, a few clouds blocking out the harshness of the setting sun.
“Thank you for today” Amy smiled, leaning her head on Jack’s shoulder. Jack stretched his arms out, causing Amy to move her head. He stood up, stretching, his t-shirt rising slightly showing the hair on his stomach. Amy giggled to herself realising that she was staring. He offered his hand to help her up. She took his hand as he gently helped her stand. He placed his hands on her hips, pulling her forward gently. He leaned down to kiss her. It was perfect. It was almost like a postcard. The sun setting in the background. She felt like she was in a story. She pulled away and smiled at him.
“Come on then. We best get going” she smiled. She started to walk, only to realise that Jack hadn’t moved.
“Amy?” he called.
“Yeah?” she turned around and her hands immediately shot up to cover her mouth. There was Jack, looking perfect as always, however he was down on one knee.
“Amy” he laughed nervously. Amy’s hands were trembling, tears threatening to spill down her cheeks.
“Words can’t express how much I love you. That and I’m not good at these things” he laughed again.
“I can’t believe how long you have put up with me. I’ve been single most of life. I never ever thought I would find someone as perfect for me as you are. You understand me. You put up with my child-like behaviour. You encourage me to be a better person and I can’t thank you enough. Ever since I met you, I just knew there was something special about you” the tears were now streaming down Amy’s cheeks, a huge grin plastered on her face.
“Oh god, please don’t cry because I’ll start” he laughed, wiping away a few stray tears.
“The reason I haven’t been myself lately is because of this. I’ve been so nervous; I couldn’t handle it. Alex knew. When you went to his place yesterday, I honestly thought he was going to blow everything” he chuckled.
“Anyway” he continued, trying to regain his composure.
“When we broke up, it killed me. I never thought I’d see you again, hold you again. The thought drove me insane. I need you in my life. We’ve been through hell and back. I don’t want to bring it up again and ruin the mood” he chuckled.
“So I’m asking you now. Would you be willing to put up with me forever? Could you stand to be by my side through thick and thin? Even when I’m acting like a dick onstage?” Amy laughed at that.
“I want to be there for you. I want you to be the last thing I see at night, and the first thing I see of a morning. I want to be able to wake up next to you each morning and kiss your face all over. I want to be able to show you off to every single person I meet in life” he smiled.
“Amy, I love you so much and I just can’t lose you again. Please say you’ll be mine forever” he grinned nervously. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small black box. He opened it revealing a simple, yet elegant diamond ring. Once again, he had to wipe away more tears.
“Amy” he took in a breath.
“Will you marry me?”
Amy didn’t think it was possible, but an even bigger smile spread across her face. She began to nod her head furiously, happy tears streaming down her face. As she was about to speak, an arm made its way around her neck and pulled her backwards. She felt something cold press against her temple. She looked at Jack whose eyes widened. He immediately stood up from from the ground.
“Don’t you dare say yes” Holly.
Amy heard a click, signalling that Holly had taken the safety off of the gun, and had now cocked it, ready to fire a bullet straight into her head at any moment. Amy could feel her heart speeding up furiously. The tears that were now flowing were no longer happy ones.
“Holly… you don’t have to do this! We can work this out” Jack tried to reason with her, however he was terrified. The love of his life stood there in front of him with a gun pointed to her head. She was helpless. Holly just laughed at him.
“Oh really? Tell me how” she spat at him.
“Take me instead”
“WHAT?” Amy shouted.
“Take me instead Holly and leave her alone. It’s me you want, so you can have me” he held his arms out.
“JACK DON’T DO THIS” Amy screamed. Holly pushed Amy forward onto her knees as she walked over to Jack. She placed her finger on his jaw and traced it up and down his jawline.
“I can’t wait to have you” she whispered into his ear. A guy dressed all in black came out of nowhere, grabbing Jack from behind and dragging him away. Holly pointed the gun back at Amy who was now standing.
“I’ve been watching you, Amelia” she spat out her name.
“I’ve been on all your little dates. I’ve been hiding. You know all those times Jack thought you were crazy? Well you weren’t. It was me who was watching you. It disgusted me watching. I knew he was going to propose. I just couldn’t let it happen. He just needs reminding how much he loves me. So don’t even try and come after us” she smiled at her. She walked off, disappearing down the hill as Amy dropped to her knees and sobbed. Something caught her eye as she looked down at the grass. She picked up the small black box that Jack had dropped.
“Jack” she whispered as she sobbed so hard her throat hurt.
The thought of never seeing Jack again swarmed her mind.
She’s almost certain she felt her heart snap in half.

So this is the final chapter in this story and I am honestly so emotional right now. This is the first ever fanfic I have ever attempted to write, and the response has been so overwhelming. I want to say a HUGE thank you to anybody that had read this story, commented, subscribed or rated. I am so so grateful for all of you. I want to say an extra special thank you to @Jack Bakarat. She has helped me out so much when I've been going through writers block and I don't know what I'd do without her. So, I really hope you have all enjoyed this story. And fear not, I couldn't just end it like this, there WILL be a sequel. When? I have no idea, but I promise I won't keep you waiting long. So thank you so much once again.
I love you all <3

Oh hey

Daydreamers Daydreamers

I'll try ;)

@Northern Downpour
You better fix it in the sequel!

I apologise omg, but I couldn't just end it on a cute, fluffy note :D honestly though, it killed me writing it. My heart actually hurt.

I knew it, he was going to propose! But I did not in any way expect Holly to do that! WHY WOULD YOU EVEN DO THAT! I will stay calm, I shall not get mad. WHYYYYYYY!!!!!
