A Rock to My Star

It's Over For Good.

Alex

“I accept.” Krys said as she let out a deep breath. I could tell she was very scared of what might happen with her boyfriend, but I couldn’t just know something like this, and just let her go back to him. I’m not that type of guy, I want everyone to be safe with the ones they love. Which reminds me, I still haven’t talked to my loved ones about Krys yet. And by loved ones, I mean the rest of the band and the crew. I knew that once I explained what’s going on at her home, they will understand and Matt will let her stay with us, I have no doubt in that.

“Well then, we better get on the bus.” I smiled at her. She smiled a small smile back and we started walking the few feet to the bus. We reached it and I opened the door, letting Krys in first and I followed suit. We walked up the few stairs and I shut the door behind us, then we went into the front lounge, where everyone was at.

“Damn Lex. Nice pick, we will go out and let you do your thing.” Jack smirked. I groaned and rolled my eyes.

“Shut up Jack. It’s not like that.”

“Then what’s it like?” Rian asked.

“Where’s Matt at? We need to have a serious talk.” I spoke.

“Matt!” Jack shouted.

“What the fuck do you want?” I heard Matt’s voice shout back from his bunk.

“Get your ass out here! Alex has some serious talk he needs to speak about!” Jack shouted again. I rolled my eyes again, and sat down next to him. I looked over to Krys who was just standing awkwardly. I got her to look at me and patted the seat next to me, telling her to sit down. She got the messages I sent thru movements and took the seat next to me. She seemed very timid at the moment, but that should soon go away, right?

“Alright Gaskarth. What do you need to talk about?” Matt asked as he entered the lounge. He looked to my side and saw Krys. “We need to leave the bus I’m guessing?”

“Gosh damn it. People stop assuming I brought a random chick on the bus to fuck. When have I ever done that?” I groaned again.

“Never.” Zack spoke softly.

“He’s right. Alex has never brought any girl on the bus. Well, other than Lisa-” I cut Rian off.

“Don’t bring up the whore’s name.”

“Does this mean we can call her whore?” Jack asked.

“Sure. I don’t care.” I shrugged. I looked around the lounge and people were giving me strange looks. “Okay, a care a little bit.”

“Try a lot.” Matt spoke.

“So? I still fucking love her. I don’t give a shit right now, that’s not what we are here to talk about.”

“Then what are we here to talk about?” Zack asked in his quiet voice.

“Okay.” I looked over to Krys, asking her with my eyes if I could talk about it. She nodded her head a little bit telling me okay, so I spoke again. “This is Krys. Well, that’s what her nickname is at least. Anyways, I met her at the meet and greet. And I kinda saw something.” I looked back over to her and looked her in the eyes before looking down at her wrist. She stuck it out slowly and I took it gently in my hand, and pulled up the sleeve a bit.

“Krys’ boyfriend hurts her. Bad. I told her it was okay to stay on the bus with us for a few days, and I want all of you to treat her with respect. And Jack, that means no trying to fuck her.” I glared over at him. I heard Krys giggle a little bit as I spoke and released her write so she could have her arm back.

“But Lex!” Jack whined.

“No.” I said bluntly.

“Alex, you can’t just invite someone to stay on the bus without asking me about it first.” Matt complained.

“Too bad, I did. Now get over it already.” I smirked at him. He got so angry when the guys and I went behind him on the rules, and we all found it funny. “Come on Krys, there is a bunk under mine that is open. You can have it while you are staying with us.” I stood up, and Krys did the same. We walked out of the lounge and walked straight, to the bunk area.

We reached my bunk, and I opened it up, taking out an extra blanket I had before opening the curtain to the bunk under it. I bent down and placed the blanket in it, seeing it already had a pillow in it. I stood back up and looked at Krys who was just watching my movements. “This will be your bunk. If you need anything during the night, just wake me up, I don’t mind.”

“Thank you Alex. For everything.” She smiled a small smile, to which I returned.

“It’s no problem. Really. Oh one more thing, didn’t you say you came with your friend today?” I questioned, and her eyes went wide.

“Shit, I need to call her. She is probably still waiting for me at her car.” She pulled out her phone and looked at it. “And it’s been an hour since I called her, she’s probably worried sick.” I looked at her screen on her phone as she pulled down the notification. I noticed she had 46 text messages, just from one number. And the name was under ‘Cory’.

“Who’s Cory?” I asked, thinking I already had an idea of who he was.

“Oh, uh, that’s my boyfriend.” She spoke softly as she clicked on the name Hailey. Which I remembered her telling me that was her best friend that brought her here today.

“Well, I’ll leave you to go ahead and call her. Come on out to the lounge when you finish. Or if you want, you can go ahead and go to bed seeing as it’s almost two in the morning. But remember, if you need anything, don’t be scared to ask me. I’m here for you.”

“Thank you Alex.” She said with that same small smile before putting the phone up to her ear. “I guess it’s finally time to tell Hailey about Cory. Then when I get off the phone, I think I’m just going to go to sleep, I’m pretty tired.” I nodded my head in understanding, I was pretty tired as well, but I had some stuff to work out, and by stuff, I mean calling Lisa and telling her how I feel. Then trying my best to write some lyrics.

“Good night, Krys.” I said as she climbed into her bunk.

“Good night, Alex.” She spoke before closing the curtain and I walked out of the bunk area, going to the back lounge instead of the front lounge. I sat down and pulled out my phone, pulling up Lisa’s name and pressing call.

I waited a second before putting it up to my ear, and when I did, all I heard was a voice automation. “I’m sorry, but the number you have dialed has been changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service. Good bye.” Lisa got rid of her number. There was no chance I could contact her. She moved out of our house together and moved somewhere out of state, I don’t know where. It really was over, and there was no going back.

I grabbed my acoustic guitar off the couch and put it on my lap. I sat there for a few minutes, just thinking about everything, till finally I just let the tears fall. I removed the guitar from my lap and set it down in front of me on the ground. I laid down on the couch and buried my head in a pillow, and just let the tears continue. It was over for good, and I don’t think I will ever find someone I would love as strong as I did her.

Notes

Sorry it took me a few days to get this out, I have been really lazy with the updating my stories and shit.

@Nanook
It was a co-written story, but my co-writer wasn't feeling the story anymore, and nor was I, so I kinda had to just get it over with. But thank you for the lovely comment! :)
