A Love Like War
Who Needs Him?
I watched as Vic came downstairs and turned a switch on in Jack. He flipped out on the Latino, and I, thankfully, covered Miracle's ears, so she wouldn't have to hear the foul language. As I listened to their conversation, I heard Jack ask for a ring. I looked on Vic's finger to notice that, the ring he had on his finger, was my old engagement ring to Jack. I had no clue they were engaged; wow, Jack really did move on quick, huh?
Once Vic left, I allowed Miracle to leave my arms to comfort her second father. I had never seen him so hurt before; it hurt me just looking at him. I wrapped an arm around his back, hesitantly, before speaking, "I am so sorry, Jack. Who needs him? He doesn't deserve someone as amazing as you, Jack. You deserve so much better." Jack looked up from Miracle's, now wet, shoulder.
"You mean that, Alex?" he asked softly. I nodded with a soft smile.
"Of course I do, Jack. You deserve the world, and... I am so sorry I couldn't give that to you." I moved away from him and got up. "I will leave you alone since you really need some time alone. I'll check back later." As I was about to leave, I heard Jack speak up and shout,
"I love you, Alex Gaskarth!" I stopped dead in my tracks. My stomach shattered onto the floor. Did I just hear what I thought I just heard? He fucking loves me still? I turned around to look at him.
"W-What?"
"I love you, Alex. I love you so damn much." I began to cry as I covered my mouth. I opened my arms widely.
"I love you, too, Jack..." Before I could react, Jack put Miracle down and ran into my arms. He smashed our lips together. The feeling was so unreal; I hadn't felt it in so long. I cupped his cheeks softly in my hands as we passionately kissed. After our lips unlocked, we pressed our heads together. "I missed you, Jack." I whimpered.
"I missed you, too. I am so proud of you, Alex." I looked down to see Miracle hugging our legs. She looked at us with eyes drowned in hope.
"Daddies okay?" she asked. I looked at Jack with blood-shot eyes.
"Well? Are daddies okay?" I asked.
Wow that story was amazing. It was so shocking.
