A Love Like War

The breaths of the boys were heavy as they stood at the opposite end of the field. Grass and dirt stains covered their crimson uniforms, and half of the boys' sticks were close to snapping straight in half. However, they were still going to defeat Overbrook high school if it was the last thing they did. The boys stood in a straight, horizontal line in front of their goal net, hands clutched to their sticks, and their chests rising upwards and downwards to catch their staggering breaths. The two star players stood in the center, Jack Barakat and Alex Gaskarth, glaring at Overbrook's center star players, #4 and #77. The referee came out to center field, and when he did, he threw both of his arms in the air and shouted, "Face off!"

In response to his order, Alex and #77 came strutting out to the center. The ball was in center circle, and both males had to keep the ends of their sticks just inches away the ball. Alex and #77 stared at each other with death glares; if looks could kill, both would have been six feet under. The referee knelt down in between them with whistle clad in hand. Both boys were hunched over, ready to earn dominance over the ball. All three men counted, mentally, to three before the whistle was blown. As soon as the chirp of the whistle irrupted through the air, Alex and #77 fought like angry dogs to gain the ball to their team.

After a vicious battle, Alex won the ball over. He scooped it up in his stick's plastic net and began to charge down the field. His team members followed, scavenging around to find a free and open space for Alex to pass the ball to. His beloved player, and boyfriend, Jack Barakat, scored a spot just a few feet from the net, and no player from Overbrook had trampled him over to prevent him from catching the ball yet. As a result, Alex called out to him, "Jack! Fetch!" Within seconds, he threw the ball from his net towards Jack. In one swift swoop, Jack caught the ball. Yet, he had to move fast and throw it into the goal, for a whole army of Overbrook players were flying towards him with sneers and growls.

"Shoot!" shouted half of Jack's teammates along with Alex. Letting out, what sounded like, a yell of, "Fuck!", Jack chucked the ball from his net and towards the opposing team's goal. All eyes were on the goalie net, just awaiting for him to score or for the goalie for Overbrook to smack the ball out of its desired path. Overbook's goalie, #45, jumped in midair to stop the ball from entering the goal net; however, his jump was a tad short. His stick just barely grazed the ball, but the contact wasn't enough to knock the ball out of course. The ball smacked right into the goalie net, winning another game for Alex and Jack's team, the Interboro Hornets.

The Hornets roared and cheered, running over to Jack to yank him up in a victory dance. Everyone yelled out Jack's name, and the man over the loud speaker shouted his name and player number, #2. Their victory dance lasted only a few minutes before they stood him back on the ground. Coach yelled through their screams and shouts, "Hit the showers, guys!" The team gave unison nods while proceeding to skip towards the locker room. Just as Jack was about to hit the locker room entrance, he was pulled back by Alex. He was smiling at his champion boyfriend, and he cupped his cheek with his sweaty, cut up palm.

"Good game, baby. I'm so proud of you; you always seem to impress me more and more as we play each game." Jack couldn't help but laugh at his boyfriend's words.

"Please, I'm not that good. But, I have to say, I learned from the best." Jack proceeded to lean in and kiss Alex's sweet tasting lips. Pulling away, Alex whispered in Jack's ear,

"Once all the guys are out and Coach leaves, meet me back in the showers. I want to celebrate our win."

hello !!!

this is just a bit of an intro to start you guys off, so like the appetizer of the story :) I will be writing this story with a member named Jagk, and I will most likely be writing in Alex's POV while she does Jack's.

I have written the intro, and I will also be writing chapter one.
