I can't believe Jenna is still mad at me after all these years. I was 13. I was young, stupid, and naive. If I had known that Eric was her boyfriend I wouldn't have let him kiss me. I wouldn't have kissed back.
~~~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~~~
Thank god the day is finally over. I get to stay home and do nothing all summer. Well every now and then I'll hang out with Jenna. Maybe Eric too. I'll definitely see him. He lives right next door. Speaking of which
"Hey Nikki. Ready for summer?"
"Yes!!! Finally. Freedom. And for two and a half months too"
"True that. Any plans?"
"Not really. Probably just gonna hang out with Jenna. You?"
"I'm going to California"
We exited the school and walked home in silence. A comfortable silence but silence. Once we reach my house he walks me to my door.
"I'll see you in August"
"See ya"
He leaned in to what I thought was a hug but instead his lips crashed onto mine. After a moment of shock I kissed back. God I have wanted this for so long. After about a minute I heard a shocked gasp. I pulled away and turned around to see Jenna.
"Hey Jen" I greeted her. She just glared daggers at me. At the time I had no idea why. Well until she responded.
"Hey Nic. Care to explain why you were kissing my boyfriend" It was my turn to gasp in shock.
"Boyfriend!!! Oh my god Jenna. I'm so so so so sorry. I had-" She cut me off before I could finish.
"Save it. You're such a selfish bitch. I can't believe I stayed friends with you for this long" I'll admit that hurt a little but my anger overpowered.
"Well then go the fuck away. I never ASKED you to be my friend. That was your own decision" After that she left. Eric just stood there. I turned and slapped him and pushed him off my porch.
"Thanks. You just ruined my only friendship. I hope you stay in California"

I was now holding back tears at the memory. I was shocked to find that Jenna moved here. We made no effort to talk to each other. This was really the first time we've spoken since that day. But even sadder than him ruining our friendship was that night my dad left us.
