I'm sitting on the couch in my basement, she's late. I told Jack and Alex to come over later so I could talk to pierce skittle bit. Zack was also supposed to come over so we could work on the song Alex has been writing.
"Hey!" I jump an turn to see Alex with two of his guitars on his shoulders. For some reason he has the need to bring everything when it comes to this.
"Hey where's Jack?" I sigh and lean back on the couch.
"Whoa Rian don't need to be so excited to see me." Alex groans sarcastically and walks across the room to set up his guitar stuff. We already have all the amps we need set up.
"Sorry it's just Pierce was supposed to be here already." I shrug and lean back.
"Oh. She seems cool, quiet though." Alex shrugs and takes a seat next to me tuning his guitar, "but that is your type." A annoying little smirk spreads across his face.
"It doesn't matter she has a boyfriend." I mutter quietly. My mother could very easily be listening to us right now.
"Kyle? That douche? You're way better then him." Alex looks over at me his smirk changed to a smile.
"Thanks but I don't want to make a move and make this whole thing all awkward." I shrug, "I'll at lest get to know her first."
"Jeez Rian, getting all sentimental?" I turn around to see Zack jogging down the stairs,
"Hey!" I stand up and walk over to him, "what's up?"
"Nothing much." I hug him awkwardly for a second,
"Cool, Jacks coming too, so is this girl, but she was supposed to be here earlier." I look up the steps over his shoulder,
"Rian did you finally get a girlfriend?" Zack chuckles and walks over to sit next to Alex to tune his bass.
"Nope it's Kyle's girl." Alex grins at Zack widely enjoying this way too much.
"He likes her then?" Zack smiles at Alex
"Yeup." Alex grins even wider if that's possible. Zack turns and looks at me sympathetically.
"Dude you're so screwed." He laughs,
"Shut up." I mumble and walk over to my drum kit in the corner and take a seat on the stool and pull my drumsticks out of my back pocket, Alex stands up with his guitar and plays the first couple chords to 'The next best thing' Zack joins him from the couch and I follow. No vocals, not until all of us are here, otherwise it's not right. I guess Jack'll just miss the warm up.
"Hey!" I faintly hear a female voice over the noise of the music, I automatically look up to the stairs where I see Pierce jogging down the stairs, Alex stops playing. It takes Zack a second to follow suit really into the music.
"Sorry I'm late." She holds a guitar case and looks at us all apologetically.
"It's cool. Jack isn't here yet." Alex smiles at her, I stand up wanting to walk over to her but all I manage is to bump over a cymbal causing it to crash to the floor making a huge noise. All three of them look at me surprised and silent.
"Smooth." Zack grins, I flip him off and stand the cymbal upright.
"Uhm, you guys are really good." Pierce smiles at us politely.
"You haven't even heard the best member yet!" Jack bounds down the stairs with his guitar and a sloppy grin on his face.
"Yeah. Suuuure you're the best member." Alex strikes a seductive pose.
"Yeah, sorry for them." Zack chuckles and walks over to Pierce and holds a hand out to her, "I'm Zack, I don't think we've ever talked before." He grins at her drawing a smile from her lips as well.
"It's totally fine." She laughs a little awkwardly, "I've seen them around the halls. I'll get used to it."
"Will you now?" Jack comes up behind her and puts an arm I've her shoulders then wiggles an eyebrow at her suggestively.
"Maybe if you wipe the caterpillars off your face." She smirks and steps forward out from under his arm, Jacks mouth hangs open as he looks at her with a partial grin.
"Dude..." He laughs
"Just tune up you guys and we can get started." Alex rolls his eyes at him and turns around checking the guitars tuning himself. One of the beauty's of prucussion, no tuning needed. I walk around the kit,
"You guys want anything to drink?" I ask loudly,
"Bourbon." Jack says quickly,
"Coke." Ale shouts
"I'll have one too."
"What about you Pierce?" She sits over on the couch completely out of focus,
"Oh uhm. Coke works." She blushes
"Five cokes then." I smile at her and walk back into the laundry room where my mom 'hides' all of the soda. I come back a moment later after struggling to reach up and grab the soda without using the stool.
