Third Times A Charm

About a month had passed and now we were going to move into the house. We had driven down from Baltimore to Florida and had been staying in two hotel rooms. Today was finally the day that we would move into the new house. Alex and I were standing hand in hand in our new front yard looking up at the beautiful house. Becca was herding the children into the house and neither Alex nor I really moved from our spot.

"We finally did it," he whispered.

"What was it four years ago? We were hiding in Austin's house, running from the unknown. Two kids, stupid and fearless. All we knew was we were in love and we didn't want anything coming between us. I was stupider than you though because I walked away from you. Maybe that's what was supposed to happen. Not all of the bad things I've done however there might've been a reason I was to return to Cali. If I could do any of it over I would've brought you with me. If you refused I would have stayed with you," I whispered to him.

"I love you Jay."

I pressed my hand to the back of his neck and pressed my lips softly to his. His hands rested softly on my waist. I couldn't help but smile from beneath his lips. I heard a cough and we both pulled apart to see Becca there, hands on her hips. She started laughing and shaking her head.

"Really boys," she laughed.

"Wha," Alex complained, pressing himself into my side.

I pressed a sloppy kiss to Alex's cheek and said, "We couldn't reminisce before walking back into the house?"

I grabbed Alex's hand as we followed Becca into the house that we had only seen one other time in person. It was just as beautiful as it had been the first time. This was our first house and it was still perfect. It looked less like it was out of a fairy tale then the first one we had looked at.

The stairwell opened up at the back of the hallway which had the balcony where you could clearly see the upstairs room. The kitchen was tucked behind the stairwell which was combined to the front room/living room. It was smallish but big enough for what we needed. I watched as Alex went into the kitchen to make lunch for all of us. He set the plates down where the three kids and his sister were sitting.

"Hey boys, I'm gonna take all the kids out after lunch to hit the mall and stuff," Becca said, winking.

"Alright, will you be home for dinner," Alex asked nonchalantly.

"Yeah, I figured I would pick something up or maybe go grocery shopping as well while we're out since I don't want sandwiches for every meal."

"It's better than when Jack cooks because there's more than just pasta."

"Hey, my pasta is fabulous," I interjected.

"Not as fabulous as you," he whispered.

We sat at the table and talked with the four other people as they ate. I couldn't help but smile at Becca who was talking about finding a new place to live nearby. I was thinking about introducing her to Austin or maybe one of his friends, they'd probably get along really well and he'd absolutely love Lexi too.

Once they finished their food I picked up all the paper plates throwing them out and Becca ushered all three of the kids out with the promise that she wouldn't be gone too long. Alex turned to me and grabbed my hand, pulling us towards the master bed room. I kissed him gently before pulling away.

"We're home alone you know. You know what that mean," Alex whispered seductively.

"Embarrassing dancing," I asked innocently.

"We both know what I'm thinking about," he said, pulling me into the room.

I couldn't come up with one idea for this so I hope you like this but hey, new house! I hope everyone had a good Christmas (assuming you celebrate)! I found out two days ago that my roommate will not be returning to college meaning I'm now without one and I'm really bummed because I kinda need her...
