Request: i would LOVE to have a follow up story on the one shot you wrote for me :) Like, one of where it's the middle of night, and the baby's crying, and Alex goes to tend to the baby. Let's say they had a boy, and they named it after Alex. And, Alex calms it down by singing to it.

One Year Later

My beautiful girlfriend Krys and I were laying in bed, just watching a movie. It was about one in the morning, and the girl next to me already fell asleep. So I reached over to my bedside lamp and turned it off, then turned around and put my arm around the sleeping girl, pulling her into my embrace as I closed my eyes. About two minutes after I closed my eyes, the baby monitor went off, and I heard our little boy crying. I felt Krys move to her up, but I held her down.

“You stay here. I’ll get him.” I said as I placed a kiss on her cheek and got up.

“Thanks babe.” She muttered, voice filled with sleep. I chuckled a bit and walked out of our room and across the hall to see what was wrong with my little man. I opened the door to see him standing up in his crib, as he held onto the sides of it crying.

“Hey little guy. Wanna tell Daddy what’s wrong?” I cooed to him softly as I walked over and picked him up and held him in my arms. “You just ate about a hour ago, so you can’t be hungry.” I then checked his diaper, which was clean. “Shh, calm down, Alex. You’re okay.” I bounces him in my arms a bit, as he put his little head on my shoulder and continued to cry.

“Hey, you want me to sing you a song? I can do that. I mean, my voice might not be the best right now, but I can try.” It’s not like he can respond to anything yet, but I loved talking to him. “Here, let me think of a good song and I’ll sing it for you.” I continued to bounces him in my arms a bit as I thought for a minute. “How about A Daydream Away? Sound good.” Nothing but crying.
I started to hum the tune, soon breaking out into a soft singing voice.

And we’re sitting on your kitchen floor, on a Tuesday afternoon.
It doesn’t matter when we get back, to doing what we do.

Just as long as I’m with you.

Little Alex started to calm down a bit as I continued on with my song I wrote, for his Mother might I add.

I wouldn’t know what to say if I had you.
And I’ll keep you a Daydream away.
Just watch from a safe place.
So I never have to lose.

I continued on as I noticed his breathing was starting to even out, and the crying has almost stopped.

We would go out on the weekend.
To escape our busy lives.
And we’d laugh at all the douche-bag guys.
Chasing down their desperate wives.
I would drink a little too much.
You’d offer me a ride.
And I’d offer you a t-shirt.
And you’d stay another night.

I stopped for another minute, noticing that he was fully asleep. I smiled to myself and walked over to the crib, placing down my son in it.

“That was beautiful, babe.” I heard a voice behind me say. I turned around and Krys standing against the door frame, with a small smile on her face.

“I swear I told you to go back to sleep.” I said with a small chuckle as I walked over to her and took her hand, pulling her back into our room. Once we were back in our room, we laid back down on the bed and cuddled each other.

“That was amazing, what you did with Alex. You’re such a great Father.” Krys spoke as she put her head on my chest. I pulled her just a bit closer to me and held onto her.

“I may be good. But his Mother is the best parent I have ever seen. He’s pretty lucky to have such a great one.” I spoke, placing a kiss on her forehead.

“I’d say he’s lucky to have a great Father like you.” She looked up into my eyes. “Night babe, I love you.”

“Night beautiful. I love you, too.”
