Horseshoes and Hand Grenades

Chapter Seventeen

"I'm bored," Alex groaned, his head in Jack's lap, as the older boy looked down on him from where he sat on a bean bag.

"Suck me off," Jack offered, running his hands through Alex's hair.

"Ew, Jack, no." Alex scoffed, blinking up at his boyfriend.

"Aw, how come?" Jack laughed, and Alex rolled his eyes in response.

"I don't want to talk about this."

"Fine, fine," Jack chuckled, "But you do know I'm just joking, right? I'd never ask you to do anything seriously if I knew you didn't want to do it."

Sitting up on the other bean bag and leaning against Jack, as he folded their hands together, Alex mumbled, "I know. It's just..."

"It's okay," Jack wrapped his closest arm around Alex, "Don't worry about it.

"No, no. We should talk about it."

"Go ahead, then."

"I don't know," Alex sighed, "I guess I'm just not ready for that. It's not that I find it gross or anything, I just feel like it'd be kind of weird. For us as a couple, I mean. We're," pointing between himself and Jack, "Not ready, either."

"Yeah, I agree. It takes a lot of confidence and trust for some people," Jack added, "And sometimes it's even harder to find the closer you are, and the further you see your future together going."

"And how far do you see our future together going?" Alex asked jokingly, not really expecting the response Jack soon gave him.

"I don't know, but wouldn't have have any objections with forever."

"Seriously?" Alex asked, his voice careful as he looked up at Jack curiously. "We've only known each other for a month.

"Of course. Your mother loved you the minute she saw you, didn't she?"

"Well, yeah, but that's diff- Wait, what did you say?"

"Relax," Jack smiled, as Alex was visibly tense beneath him, "I don't think I'm in love you now, if that's what you're worried about. What I mean is I could see myself being in love with you in the future. For now, I think what we both need is to basically just be friends, but with kissing, and stuff."

"Oh," Alex hummed, "That's alright, I guess."

"Yeah?" Jack laughed, and Alex nodded with a smile.

"It's nice to see how much faith you have in me."

"Well, if you don't change for the worse, I'm pretty sure you'll be exactly what I'll need."

"You're a huge sap."

"I wasn't until I met you."

After a few more minutes of making out, sounds from outside caused the two boys to break apart. The weather had not been nice when they woke up, either, but they were not expecting what they saw.

"What is that?" Alex asked, and Jack shrugged as they both stood up to inspect outside. Upon opening the door, the pair was facing with whistling winds causing trees to sway, and branches to break. There was no way they would have missed it from inside their measly cabin, but of course, they had recently been blaring music too loud to allow them to even hear each other. It was not nearly extreme as it could have been, but rain was just beginning to fall, and Alex gave Jack a panicked look.

"Maybe we should get home," Jack mumbled, "We don't want to get stuck out here."

"Yeah," Alex nodded, "Good idea."

Packing up all of their things, the two boys headed out through the forest, hand in hand. Alex began to get tired, even though it was only seven in the evening on a Saturday. Jack, on the other hand, continued to walk at a fast pace, effectively dragging the blond behind him. The speed of the rain began to pick up as they walked, and soon it was pouring rain. Dark clouds were rolling in, and Jack could only hope they would make it home before a real storm hit.

"Where are we going?" Alex piped up, once the pair left the trees behind them and began rushing through the park.

"Do you want to come over to my house?"

"Sure," Alex decided, but Jack was not having it. There was an obvious amount of indecisiveness Alex's his voice, and it was not sitting well with Jack.

"Why do you sound so unsure?"

"I- Uh, I just don't think your mom really likes me."

"Don't be stupid," Jack shook his head, "She liked you just fine before she knew we were dating, didn't she?"

"But, still."

"No, you're coming over. Don't worry about her, seriously."

"Fine."

Once they had finally reached Jack's house, lightening had just began to hit. They saw the first one from the window just as they entered the house, and Jack looked on with a smile as Alex pressed his nose up against the glass.

"It's so cool! Come look with me, Jack!"

"In a minute, babe. We'll go upstairs, after we go talk to my mom for a second."

Alex turned around at that, ready to argue, but Jack took his hand and pulled him into the kitchen. Jack tried to make it known to Alex on the short journey that his mother, in no circumstances, hated Alex. Alex nodded along in response, but Jack was not so sure the message really stuck.

"Hello, boys," Joyce said to the pair, her eyes flicking down to their connected hands, before offering a warm smile.

"Hey, mom. Can you tell Alex that you don't hate him?"

"Jack! I-" Alex started, but was interrupted by Jack's mom chuckling in response.

"Of course not, Alex. You're lovely to have around."

"Thank you," Alex smiled weakly, as Jack mumbled, "Told you,"

After picking out some snacks, Alex followed Jack upstairs. He was glad to remember Jack's bed was pushed underneath his window, so when he saw it, he raced toward the bed and clambered on top of it. Kneeling and then sitting back on his legs, Alex rested his arms on the windowsill as he watched the dark clouds intently.

"What do you want to do?" Jack asked, as he lay down behind the English boy.

"This," Alex answered simply, and Jack laughed.

"For how long?"

"Just a while more."

Alex's definition of a while seemed to be exactly 13 minutes, because after said amount of time, he finally tore his eyes off of the bright sparks coming down from the sky. He turned his head to Jack, looking down at his boyfriend with a grin.

"Okay," Alex giggled, "Now, we can do this."

Flopping down beside Jack, Alex scooted up to where their faces met, wrapping his arms around Jack's neck.

"Great," Jack commented, "This is my favourite thing."

Giggling once more, Alex pressed his lips to Jack's, and Jack wasted no time in taking the lead. Rolling over and hovering above Alex instead, Jack continued to explore Alex's mouth with his own. This was usually how it went, but not because either of them was against it ever being the other way around. Jack could just always sense a tiny bit of nervousness in Alex, and he figured it would make it easier on his boyfriend if he guided him just a little. Their tongues continued to meet and part as they breathed heavily, their kiss becoming sloppy as Jack, and Alex as a cause, took interest in something else. Jack began to move his hand around Alex's hip, sliding the tips of his fingers under Alex's shirt. After exploring and caressing as far as he could without taking off Alex's shirt, Jack began to slip his hand below Alex's belt. He was more than aware of how hard the boy beneath him was, so he wiggled his fingers into Alex's boxers as he stopped their kiss momentarily.

"This alright?" Jack breathed, and Alex nodded quickly.

"Just this, though."

"Of course, sweetheart."

Focusing on what he was doing with his hand once more, Jack curled his fingers around Alex's cock carefully. Not wanting to be too rough, he started moving his hand slowly, repeating his motions.

"Faster, Jack," Alex whined impatiently, his hips wiggling beneath Jack's hand.

"Alright, alright," Jack laughed, continuing on to do what he was asked. Jack had barely given a couple hand jobs before, but Alex considered to be enjoying it, considering it was his first. Once Alex was unable to keep his mouth shut, Jack moved his lips down to the blond's neck, instead. He tried not to leave any marks near the front of the boy's body, but he was able to busy himself there for a while, as small moans escaped Alex's throat every once in a while. Eventually, Alex was clutching at Jack's shirt over his back, moaning as he released into Jack's hand. Jack helped him through it before pulling his hand out of Alex's boxers and getting up to go wash it.

"You can borrow some boxers if you want," Jack suggested, as he came back into the room. Alex was still laying on the bed, his chest rising and falling just a bit too often to be normal. Jack smiled at the sight, pointing to the drawer where he kept said items with his right hand.

"Thanks," Alex sat up, "But what about you?"
