Just For A Moment
Chapter 2
Jack kept his head down as he walked with the group of his so called friends, he really couldn't call them friends they didn't even know anything about him. He rolled his eyes as he saw them practically strutting down the hallway, he knew that they were classed as 'popular' but really they were just dicks and somehow he managed to get caught up in it all, but he was lucky he never let it go to his head because he would never be able to forgive himself it he treated people the way that they did.
As they walked further down the corridor, Jack thought that maybe they would get to their first lessons without causing any problems. But obviously his wishes were unheard when the group spotted Alex Gaskarth, Jack had always liked Alex and he honestly thought that he was a little cute, but obviously that was a part of himself that he would never ever show. Maybe. He glanced up when he felt eyes on him and he instantly regretted his decision when he saw that they were Alex's, to see that amount of pain in one pair of eyes made Jack feel horrible and he wasn't even the one who caused it, but then he supposed that he was a part of the cause because he never did anything about it and that needed to change.
Jack wanted to help Alex, he really did but the problem with that was the group of people who he regrettably called his friends. He knew that the minute that he stood up for the boy shit would go down with himself and he wasn't sure that he could deal with that.
He watched as Alex kept getting blows to his body and he saw the blood dripping down the boy’s face from his nose. He couldn't take it any longer, he stepped forward and stood protectively in front of Alex, it honestly felt great to stand up for someone and by doing this it felt like he was standing up for himself. He looked over the whole of the group before speaking "I really think that you need to stop now" His voice came out weaker than what he expected but it didn't let stop him, he was determined to get somewhere with this. "It's not like Alex actually deserves any of this, does he?" He glanced behind him for a split second before looking back to the group.
He shook his head and heard the sneers and taunts, he shook his head and just stood there and listened, honestly the names didn't bother him and he could deal with them. He was about to turn around to help Alex up when someone spoke up and said "Why do you even care, Barakat?" Jack rolled his eyes at the question, he was really hoping that he could get away without explaining himself but then again, when did anything ever go his way?
"Because it's not fair that you torment people like Alex with no reason, I mean, what has Alex ever done? I care because I don't think its right that you make people's lives a living hell, have you ever thought about how what you do affects people? I bet you haven't because you are sick people who don't even deserve to be in the presence of people like Alex, who live their lives every day
Without hurting anyone." He looked around the group "I think that maybe you should try to be more like Alex', but then again, your tiny little brains are probably incapable of such a thing." He spat out his last words before looking around again.
Jack stayed in his protective stance until the entire group had dispersed, as he was sure none of them around, Jack turned around to Alex and honestly the sight of the boy broke his heart slightly. He bit his lip and lightly wrapped his eyes around Alex and smiled slightly as the boy’s eyes met his own.
"Thanks" He heard the boy mutter. Jack nodded was about to say something but Alex had pulled away from him and was running down the hall way and into the bathrooms. Jack stood where he was for a while, slightly confused. A few moments passed before he was also running down the hallway after him and into the bathrooms.
"Alex?" He called out; he bit his lip and walked further into the bathroom, his heart shattering at the sound of small sobs.
