Chapter Nineteen.

Jack

I walked into the gas station and got two Monster energy drinks, one for me and one for my beautiful girlfriend. I went up to the cashier and paid for the drinks, and the gas for my car. I walked back outside with a smile on my face. My face soon faded when I saw my car. The door was swung open and I saw Layla wasn’t anywhere to be seen. I ran up to my car and I instantly went into panic mode.

“Layla?!” I shouted. Nothing. “Layla! If you can hear me, please speak babygirl!” Again, nothing. I felt tears brimming my eyes and I hit my car, with all my anger. I put a pretty good dent in it, which I didn’t even care about right now. I just wanted my Layla back. Where could she have gone? I felt a hand on my shoulder and I quickly turned around, hoping it was Layla, but it wasn’t. I looked at the man in front of me, trying my best to hold back my tears.

“I saw what happened.” The guy spoke. Keeping a straight face.

“What?! What happened?!” I rushed.

“Some really big guy, with a shaved head and tattoos took her. I couldn’t do anything about it. Not that I tried at least. I’m sorry. If it makes anything better, I called the cops and they are on the way here right now.” He spoke.

“Make it better?! How can calling the fucking cops make it better?! You watched my girlfriend be kidnapped and didn’t do shit to help her!” I blew up in his face. I soon felt guilty for doing it. “Look, I’m sorry. Thank you for calling them.” He nodded his head and walked inside the gas station. I fell the the ground and sat behind me car, leaning on the back of it. I started to break down and my mind started drifting. That’s when my mind went to one person.

Alex.

I quickly fished my phone out of my pocket and clicked on my best friends contact and pressed call. I put the phone up to me ear and I felt really anxious.

“Come on Lex. Pick up the damn phone.” I muttered to myself.

“Hey Jack!” His voice came through after the third ring. He sounded like his happy-go-lucky normal self. That wasn’t going to last for long.

“Lex! I need you all. You, Lisa, Kaitlin, Rian, Zack, and Layla’s friends! Now! Shell gas station right down the road from the high school.” I spoke through my tears.

“Whoa, shit. Jack, are you crying? What’s up man? Tell me what happened.” He said, sounding frantically worried.

“I was in the gas station paying for the gas. I came back out and Layla was gone. Some guy just came up to me and told me some guy took her. I need you guys here. Please.”

“I’ll call everyone. We’re on our way. Did you call the cops?” He spoke, and I could hear talking in the background, along with a car engine starting.

“They are on their way.”

“Okay dude. Just stay where you are. Try your best to calm down. We will be there in a few minutes. Don’t worry. We will find her.” I could hear he was trying his best to hold back tears as well. I replied with a okay and hung up the phone, just throwing in on the ground in front of me. This is all my fault. I could have just have her come inside with me and this never would have happened. I just had to walk away for two fucking minutes and lose the best damn thing that ever happened to me. I laid on my side, holding myself as I was still crying. I felt like my heart was just ripped out of my chest. I heard the sounds of car doors being slammed shut, and sounds of running feet. Before I knew it, someone was sitting next to me and lifting me so I was basically in their lap, but not really. “Calm down Jack. We’ll find her. You can be sure of that.” I heard the sound of my best friends voice say. Once I knew it was Alex, I pulled myself closer to him. He was really the only one I ever confided in, so this was normal for him, even I could hear that he was crying as well though. I soon heard the sounds of more slamming car doors and running feet, knowing it would be the rest of the people who were meant to be here.

“Lex, there’s the cops.” Lisa’s voice said. You could hear the sadness and tears in her voice as well. I heard the sounds of feet walking closer to us, knowing it was the police.

“So, we got a call from a person named Roy?” Once police officer spoke.

“I’m Roy.” A voice said. I knew the voice to be the man who talked to me earlier about what happened.

“Okay sir, would you please tell me what happened?”

“The girls boyfriend, the one who looks like someone just ripped his heart to pieces.” Roy started, knowing he was motioning over to me. “Went inside to pay for the gas for his car. About a minute later, the girl got out of the car, soon followed out by a huge guy with tattoos and a shaved head. I didn’t think nothing of it, till I saw them walking that way out of the corner of my eye. I looked up and saw that she was struggling to get away from him. I couldn’t do anything about it. Due to the fact he could murder me in a heartbeat because I’m so small. But I did get a picture of the person and the girl.” I looked up at him and saw he was showing his phone to the three officers who were standing in front of us with him. One of them took the phone and bent down to me and Alex.

“Do you know this guy?” She asked as she held the phone out to me. I took it from her hands and my eyes wide. It was her Mother’s boyfriend. He took her.

Keith took her.
