Alex's POV
"What?!" Rian smiled, jumping on the couch next to me. Me and Jack were frozen. Do we? Don't we? Tell him? Or not? I wanted to mouth something to Jack, but Rian was behind him.
"Should we tell him?" Jack mouthed to me. I shrugged. I was completely stuck.
Jack jumped from the couch and limped out the room. Rian looked at me, lost like me.
"What's with him?" Rian asked.
"I dunno..." I lied, getting up and going after him; Rian left on the couch.

I found Jack in the bathroom, sitting in an awkward position on the toilet (the lid was down by the way). I opened the door slowly, and he had his head in his hands.
"Jack?" I asked. He looked up at me and quickly looked away.
"Jack" I repeated. He kept his eyes glued to the floor.
"Are you ashamed?" I whispered, looking down. I could feel my face going red. Jack's head lifted up straightaway and walked to me.
"No no no never, Alex" he said, hugging me tight.
"Then why did you leave?" I asked, hugging him back. My eyes started to twitch and go blurry.
Why was I cryig? This was just sex, no emotions. Just fuck buddies. I didn't like Jack in that way...did I? In order to do stuff like that with someone, you must be attracted to them, even a bit.
"I needed to speak in private" Jack replied. He pulled away from the hug and saw me crying. His eyes grew wide. The last time I cried was months ago, on Tom's anniversary.
"Alex? What's wrong?" He askez, wiping my tears on the bottom of his shirt. I sniffed and smiled. "N-nothing, i'm fine" I insisted.
"Of course you are" a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
We hugged again.
We stayed like this; a gentle but strong hug for a while. A comfortable silence around his, as well as our arms. I buried my head in Jack's neck, snuggling him.
After a moment, I broke the silence.
"Jack...where is this going?" I asked him. He pulled away and looked me in the eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, is this going to last forever? Or just another few years until we grow up? Or until one of us gets a girlfriend?".
Jack was stuck. He didn't have an answer.
"If we don't know where it's going, maybe we should call it off? Save the heartbreak". My eyes widened and I froze.
What the hell did I just say?! And why?! I'm so stupid! He's properly going to walk out right now and leave me right...
"What heartbreak?" Jack asked after a moment.
"My heart"
"Do you...love me?"
"I...i think so"
"I love you too, Alex". Jack pulled me close into another hug. I hugged back. We said the 'L' word loads of times but it never meant anything. But this time, I meant it. Did Jack?
"Mean it?" I asked.
"Mean it" Jack whispered into my hair.
"Are you asking me out, Gaskarth?" Jack smirked.
"Only if..." I was suddenly cut off my Jack's lips against mine. I kissed back, falling back against the bathroom door.
"Of course, you idiot" Jack replied, pulling away.
My eyes felt heavy ad I wanted to cry. For the first time since Tom's passing, I felt well and truly happy.
"Alex?! Jack?!" Rian yelled.
Me and Jack stared at each other and started laughing. Quickly, we rushed out the bathroom and back to Rian.
