Summary
Kate Solo, Jack Barakat, and Alex Gaskarth have been friends since eighth grade, or they were until Jack and Alex left her behind when they got famous.
In the years between when Alex and Jack left and when the three met up again, Kate's life was anything but normal. She slept around, she took her anger out on her friends, she developed Anorexia after a night with the guy she thought liked her, she was thrown into a mental hospital at age 16, and to top it off, she felt alone and forgotten by her two best friends.
Now, Kate is 26 years old and has owned her own record store for three years. Kate has turned her life around, found new friends, and a new life.
But when Jack and Alex come back, she is reminded of what her life used to be and it takes a big toll on her. Can she handle it?
Characters
Jared Clyde
Jared is Kate's enemy-turned-best-friend. He used to torment Kate in high school but when Kate was institutionalized, he saw her in a different light. He got to know her and was one of the few people in the school who actually talked to her.
Kate Solo
Kate is the main character who used to be best friends with Jack and Alex. She was institutionalized when she was 16 and all of her friends left her. She owns her own record store and has a new life.
Kian Solo
Kian is Kate's younger brother. He is very close with his older sister and doesn't like seeing her hurt. Is good friends with Jack and Alex, after they reappear in the picture, and likes hanging out with his sister and her friends.
Kyle Spencer
Kyle is the guy who, back in high school, slept with Kate and then told everyone she was crazy and stalked him. Three years after high school, Kate and him reconnected as friends and are now really close. He is very protective over her and doesn't approve of Jack and Alex at first.
Shiloh Green
Shiloh is Kate's best friend. They live together and work together. She is the cashier and sales person for the record store. Kate and her met a few months after high school and have been inseparable since.
