Alex POV

After Nelly and I finished dancing to All My Life I went to get us another drink and she met up with Tonia. “Could I get a Punch in the Pants? And a Tie Me to the Bedpost?” I asked the bartender, five minutes later he handed me the drinks. I went in my search for Nelly and found her sitting at a table with Kellin. “Hey Nelly, Kellin.” I said taking a seat beside her.

“Hey Lex.” She said to me, taking her drink from me and taking a sip. I leaned over so I could whisper in her ear.

“Don’t get too drunk tonight, this isn’t all I have planned for us.” I told her, giving her a hint of tonight’s plans. She looked up at me with curious eyes but I refused to give in and tell her our plans. She shrugged and continued talking to Kellin.

“Nelly, what do ya think?” I zoned in from thinking just in time to hear Kellin ask her. I shook my head and wondered what he was talking about.

“What’s going on?” I asked them, basically showing them I wasn’t paying attention to their conversation.

“Kellin wants to write and sing a song with me.” Nelly told me and I nodded.

“Do you want to?” Kellin asked her. I looked at Nelly and she nodded to Kellin.

“Of course! Why wouldn’t I? You’re one of the bands that inspired my band.” Nelly told him and they smiled at each other.

“I’ll call you, for details, okay?” Kellin asked her and Nelly smiled and nodded at him. Kellin got up and left, leaving me with Nelly at the table alone with me.

Nelly turned to me and looked up at me, “What exactly are we doing later on tonight, that I can’t get drunk?” Nelly asked me with a raised eyebrow and curios look on her face. I shrugged and bit my lip looking away from her, because if I did I would give away the surprise.

“Can’t tell you, it’s a surprise.” I told her and she narrowed her eyes at me.

“Alexander, tell me.”

I shook my head, “I can’t!” I whined to her, smiling.

“And why not?” Nelly asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I’m bound by the unbreakable vow.” I told her seriously, whispering the last two words in her ear.

“Oh really?” Nelly asked and I nodded like a little boy. We kept it up for a while before neither of us could hold it in and started laughing. “I can’t believe you tried that on me!” Nelly said between laughs. I shrugged and smiled, after I stopped laughing, and looked at her. Her hair framed her face and was the red was fading out of it. She told me that she was going to let it fade out and go back to her natural brown hair. Her eyes shined when she laughed and smiled. When the light hit her just right, it looks as if she has a halo around her head.

“Come on, let’s go.” I told her, grabbing her hand and helping her up. I went and found Jack telling him Nelly and I was leaving. He nodded and pulled me aside for a minute.

“Good luck man,” was all he said before he let Nelly and me walk off. I grabbed her hand and led her outside of the venue.

“Where are we going Lex?” Was the only thing I heard every three minutes from Nelly. I walked us down the hill the venue was on and stopped beside a bush to pull out the basket I had hidden under it. Once we got to the bottom of the hill and to flat land, I opened the basket and pulled out the yellow and black blanket I packed inside the basket. I sat down on it and patted the spot beside me.

“Come on and sit.” I told her and when she did, I pulled the wine glasses and the bottle of dry red wine next. Passing Nelly a glass I opened the bottle of wine and poured her some then poured some for me.

“Thank you Lex.” Nelly told me after taking a sip of wine. I shrugged.

“Not a problem.” I told her before reaching into the basket again and pulled out two round containers that contained, a mini pizza for each of us. I handed Nelly one of them and she opened it to reveal the pizza.

“Thank you Lex!” Nelly said to me leaning over giving me a short, innocent kiss. She pulled back and gave me a breath-taking smile that made my heart beat faster than ever.

“Anything for you Maddie.” I said to her, she normally didn’t like her middle name but she let’s me call her by it. I watched as she took a bit out of her pizza and watched as she closed her eyes and let out a light sigh.

“This is really good. Did you make this?”

I rubbed the back of my neck nervously, “Actually I had some help from my mom.” I told her truthfully and took a sip of my wine before biting into my pizza.

“Well tell her I said thank you and that it’s really good.” Nelly said before sipping her wine and taking another bite of her pizza.

“Sure thing.” I told her and we sat in silence as we finished off our pizza and drank the whole bottle of wine. After a while I started putting the wine glasses, pizza containers, and empty wine bottle back into the basket and sat it on the grass beside me.

I pulled her beside me and laid down, causing her to lay down with me. With her lying beside me I wrapped my arm around her waist and she snuggled up into my side and laid her head on my chest.

“What brought this on?” Nelly asked me breaking the silence with her soft voice.

“Nothing, just thought I had to take you out on a real date.” I told her, and she lifted her head to look up at me and she smiled.

“Best first date ever.” Nelly said and leaned up to kiss me. After a while we broke apart to breathe and once I caught my breath I grabbed her chin and forced her to look at me.

“Nelly Madeline Jameson will you do me the honor of being my beautiful, talented, intelligent, wonderful girlfriend?” I asked her and let her face go.

I saw her smile and nod, “Hell yes!” She yelled before realizing what she said and shaking her head and blushing, “I meant, uh… Yeah I would Alexander William Gaskarth.” Nelly said to me, before leaning up and she kissed me again.
