That Little Fucker
Alex POV
“I don’t want to fucking talk to you! How the hell did you even find me?” I heard somebody yell from MToP’s bus while I was walking past. It sounded like it was Nelly so I walked towards the bus and knocked. “What!?” I heard Nelly shriek before seeing it was me. “Please come in Alex and stay quiet.” Nelly whispered to me locking the bus door behind her.
“Sure, but you might want to keep the yelling to a minimum because I heard you while I was walking past.” I told her, while following her to the back lounge. She just nodded and I saw somebody already sitting in the back lounge. So this was who she was yelling at, at 8 at night. I wanted to say something but figured I needed to get back on her good side so I stayed quiet.
“You can’t just turn up on my band’s bus, like you’re some fucking God, whenever you want! We’re about to be leaving and if you’re here when Jase gets back he’s going to go batshit and I’m not stopping him.” She told whoever the hell he was that’s sitting in the chair. I raised my eyebrow at her, was I missing something? I heard her sigh and I knew whatever it was, wasn’t good. “Alex this is Clark, Clark this is, my roommate when I’m home, Alex.” She introduced her and I immediately recognized the name, considering we were bashing it almost a month before tour.
“Hey, why are you here? We have to leave in ten and I saw Jason coming, that’s why I came Nelly. He said he’d be here in ten, if that.” I told her making up some shit, so he’d leave, cause I see she’s not going to be able to hold back longer. I don’t think it’s the sad, crying tears holding back, it looks more like violent, angry holding back and I don’t want to witness either side.
“I came here to talk to Nelly, not her fucking roommate Alex.” He spat my name like it was poison in his mouth.
“Look dude, I’m trying to help you keep something value. Jase and the guys won’t listen to reason when it comes to you and you’re not helping talking shit to me, cause I’d beat your ass too.” I told him and turned to Nelly. “Want me to kick him out?” I whispered in her ear. She shook her head and I stood by her side, and threw my arm around her shoulder.
“Nelly, I think we should get back together. I miss you and I’m sorry for the shit I said before. I want you back, I miss having my dinner made when I get back from work, I miss having a girlfriend who washes my clothes for me, I miss having a girlfriend who went shopping for me. I miss you, nelly Jameson.” He told her and I almost snorted, trying to hide my laughter. Almost, I didn’t quite reach that goal before it came out of me. I was bent at the waist with laughter and Nelly had the same amused look in her eyes, while Clark looked confused.
“Dude you don’t miss her. You miss the idea of her doing everything for your sorry ass.” I told him once I stopped laughing. He frowned and turned to me.
“Man, shut up. This is between my girl and me.” He told me trying to seem intimidated. I snorted again and shook my head, opting to stay quiet and let Nelly handle this herself.
“I haven’t been ‘your’ girl since you kicked me. Remember that? Almost two months now? Why wait this long, you realized I was the only girl that wanted your pathetic ass? Too late for that shit now, I don’t want your ass and even if I did I knew I could do better.” She told me and even though I wanted to, I don’t laugh because I don’t want her mad at me again. She looked to have forgotten about my shitty mess I made two weeks ago and I’m grateful.
“Nelly I’m back!” We heard Jason call from the front of the bus. Nelly and I smirked towards each other and Clark tried to stop from shrinking back but failed once Nelly called back to him.
“Back lounge and I have a special guest, so be on your best behavior!” Nelly said in a patronizing voice and I would be scared if I was Clark because I knew Jason hated the dude, and here he is. Clark in the flesh on MToP’s bus and vulnerable, he walked himself into it. We tried to tell his idiotic ass to get the fuck away from this bus, but he was being stupid.
We heard Jason and the rest of MToP and ATL walk to the back lounge. “Who’s this Nelly? Why is he on our bus and where the fuck did he come from and why do he look like such a damn prep?” Jason asked Nelly and Nelly smiled.
“Introductions, yeah? Yeah. Jason, Astro, Martin, Rian, Jack, and Zack this is Clark. Clark this is Jason, Martin, Astro, Rian, Jack and Zack.” She hadn’t even finished before Jason had Clark by the collar on the floor.
“Why the fuck are you here?” I heard him ask and I had to stifle my laugh because Clark was petrified and the look on his face was funny. “Why are you in my bus and talking to Nelly again? Especially after you called her worthless and a fuck-up. What the hell were you even thinking, that she’d just forgive you and fall back into your arms?” He let out a sarcastic laugh. “Get the fuck out of her before I beat the shit out of you.” Jason said before getting up and Clark stood up on shaking knees.
“Nelly? Please I miss you, and I love you.” Clark said before starting to leave.
“Fuck off Clark.” Nelly said and turned her back to him. I looked down at her to see her already looking up at me. “Hey Alex. Now what did you really need when you came in earlier?”
“Just checking in, cause I heard screams and they wasn’t the pleasurable kind either.” I said and we both laughed. She shrugged and turned back to everybody else.
“I’m ready to go when you are.”
“Nelly we got to talk about this.”
“About what Jase? How Clark tried to get with me again? Guess what… I’m not going back to the little fucker and he needs to leave me the hell alone. He doesn’t love me; he loves the idea of me doing shit for him. I don’t want the little fucker, cause I know I can find somebody better.” She told Jason and he looked at her proudly.
“I’m proud, grasshopper. Finally you understand the concept of ‘plenty of fish in the sea’.” He told her.
“Isn’t that fir boys when they get dumped by a girl?” Astro asked Martin. Martin nodded, but Jason answered him.
“Eh… still applies.” Jason said. “Alright we got to get on the road. Alex you here or on your bus?”
I looked over at Nelly. “Here,” I told them, and walked to Nelly’s bunk to wait for her. I didn’t have to wait long because a couple of minutes later she was opening the curtain to her bunk.
“Jesus! What are you doing in here?” She asked when she finally saw me in her bunk. I laughed.
“Some people call me Alex, but Jesus works fine too.” I told her before sitting up and getting serious. “I’m sorry.” I told her when she sat across from me.
“For what?” The confusion laced in her voice. I sighed, knowing she was doing this on purpose.
“For kissing you and then saying it meant nothing.” I told her.
“It’s ok if it meant nothing, you don’t have to like me like that.” Nelly told me, ducking her head down so I couldn’t see her eyes.
“No Nelly I do like you like that. God, I feel like I’m 16 again, but seriously I do. I didn’t know if you did though.” I told her, reaching over to hold her head up.
“I did and still do.” Nelly told me and I let out a smile and so did she.
“So can we try again?” I asked her. She nodded, “So it’s ok if I do this?” I asked her before leaning in and kissing her, again, for the first time in almost three weeks.
