I could tell Jack was very concerned for Nyssa. I was too. That’s why I wasn’t going to tell her that my meds were going to run out. With Sarah getting ready to get her operation tomorrow, I needed to be strong for Nyssa. I’m her best friend and her rock. I was going to be hard as diamond for her too.
“What’s going on? I know something is wrong. She’s been distant all day,” Jack was grilling me.
“Let me tell you in the back lounge,” I led him to the back of the bus and closed the door, “Mine and Nyssa’s friend Sarah is going to be having surgery tomorrow. She has a brain tumor and is hoping to get it removed. Nyssa is a nervous wreck since she doesn’t want to lose Sarah. I don’t even want to lose Sarah.”
“Oh, but what about the red patch on her hand,” Jack asked.
“Nyssa has eczema and that patch was a flare up. She’s got more lotion now to take care of it. Take some advice from me; don’t press too hard on Nyssa to open up. She’ll do it as she gets more comfortable with you. It took me a couple months to get her hold steady conversation with me when we met our freshman year of college,” I told him.
“Okay, thanks Bonnie,” Jack nodded and he went out into front lounge.

I was heading into the back lounge to see Bonnie, when Jack passed me with a look of concern on his face. I didn’t want to press him on it. I was pretty sure it had something to do with Nyssa. When I got into the back lounge, Bonnie was sitting on the couch with her face in her hands.
“Is everything alright, Bonnie,” I asked as I sat down next to her.
“I’m just trying to hold myself and Nyssa together. Our friend Sarah is getting ready for a huge operation tomorrow and has both me and Nyssa worried,” she said, sighing heavily while she ran her fingers through her hair.
“If you ever want to talk about it, I’m always here to listen,” I told her. Bonnie looked up at me and I saw her worry leave her gorgeous hazel eyes. I had nearly kissed her until Matt had pulled her away. I figured my chance may have gone.
“Thanks, Alex. That means a lot to me,” she smiled as she took hold of my left hand. She started to trace my rose tattoo softly. I wanted to kiss her so bad. I also wanted to know more about what’s gotten into Nyssa too.
“Now about Nyssa,” I started.
“I won’t tell you about her edginess,” Bonnie warned.
“I wasn’t going there. I was wondering about why she’s so distant today,” I told her.
“With Sarah getting her operation and other things, Nyssa’s coping with her stress. The way she copes is with isolation and music. With a couple hours of alone time with her music collection, she’ll be feeling better in no time,” Bonnie wore a smile to help me stop worrying, but I could tell her smile was weary.

I noticed that Alex was gazing at me intently. He was watching me intently. I wanted him to stop staring and fucking kiss me already. I liked him a lot and I couldn’t stand the lack of his lips against mine. I wanted to feel his lips against mine. I didn’t realize I zoned out until Alex started waving his hand over my face again.
“Shit I spaced again. Sorry,” I blushed and hung my head down, avoiding his eyes.
“It’s fine Bonnie. I do it too,” Alex lifted my chin with two fingers. My eyes caught his again, making me blush even more.
That’s when Alex started leaning in again. I leaned in again with him. Before I knew it, my lips met his softly. My lips molded to his perfectly. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his strong arms that kept me from falling yesterday around my waist. He pulled my body against his, holding me to him as I lost my fingers in his hair. The need for oxygen became too great and we parted. Alex rested his forehead against mine and we both smiled as we breathed heavily.
“Holy shit, I just kissed Alex Gaskarth. That’s something I couldn’t even imagine happening,” I sighed and giggled softly.
“Well you better believe it. I’ve been wanting to do that since this morning,” Alex replied and kissed me again.
“So what now,” I asked.
“I’m not sure. For now we’ll play it by ear okay. I want to take you on a date before we go official with the others. Deal,” Alex proposed.
“You got yourself a deal,” I sealed our deal with a kiss before I got up to go hang with Jack, Matt, Bryan, and Vinny in the front lounge. Alex followed behind shortly after and sat next to me.
“We’ll be arriving to the venue shortly. Bonnie, I need you to follow me around to learn the ropes. You’ll be helping us set up the stage before the boys go on. You’ll end up helping out with Danny with refilling Jack and Alex’s pick stands during the show as well,” Matt explained.
“Sounds easy enough,” I replied, letting him know that I knew what I needed to do today.
“Also go easy on the partying. We have an early night so we can hit the road and get everything rolling early for the Charlotte show,” Matt lectured.
“Yes Mom,” Alex rolled his eyes playfully.
“Careful Alex, he might make you dance around to the Mickey Mouse March,” I teased.
“That’s nothing to Metro Station,” he smirked.
“Don’t test me Gaskarth,” Matt added in.

We finally stopped in Atlanta at the venue, and Jack plowed through everyone to get to the bathroom. The boy’s routine was strange. Nyssa walked off last, and I waited for her to hop off before going inside to shadow Matt.
“Feeling better,” I asked her.
“Not really,” she replied simply.
“Everything will be fine. I promise. Now let’s go inside so I can have find a place to chill while I work,” I smiled so Nyssa could relax.
I wasn’t going to ever tell her that my meds were going to run out in a few days. I can’t be a wreck when we’re away from home. She would be overwhelmed by her worries if I lost my sanity in front of her. I hope Alex can keep me at a good level of normalcy during this tour. If not, both me and Nyssa were going to lose our minds. I couldn’t live with that.
