The Morticians Daughter Black Veil Brides
Chapter 1
I sit on my hotel bed flipping through my contact list looking for her phone number. I pull up the contact and smile. A photo from our first anniversary pops up of Hanna kissing a stuffed monkey I won her. It’s been a year and a half since then. Hanna and I are almost on three years. We met on tour when she was a guest photographer for us at First Avenue. We met backstage and met up again, and again. I guess she hasn’t gotten rid of me yet. I press the ‘Call’ button and slide back on the bed and laying back against the pillows relaxing after the set I just finished, we went acoustic at a mall.
I smile when I hear her voice
“Hey, Ale- Bear.” I can hear the smile on her lips.
“I told you not to call me that.” I chuckle
“Mmmm, No. I like it.” I hear her sigh, “I miss you. Life is so uneventful all by myself in this big house.”
“I can only imagine.” I smirk “What are you doing now? Sounds like you’re driving.”
“Yeah. I am just going grocery shopping. I’m having a party with the girls tonight.” She giggles, “You know? Fat night. Movies, Pizza guacamole face masks.”
“Ooooh get me in on one of those when I get home.”
“I’ll be sure to. But you’ll have to shave off your beard. You know the one you always decide to grow when you’re on tour.” She laughs my favorite kind of laugh.
“We will see about that.” I grin, “When are you going to be coming out to see me?”
“I know you’re counting down love. Two days and I’ll be there,” I chuckle to myself and look at my forearm that has a countdown written on it.
“Maybe I am.”
“How was your set?”
“It was good. Jack got some new bras, Zack got a tampon. Un-used, don’t worry.” I laugh just as I hear a thump. “Hanna?” I ask loudly
“Hey babe! I dropped my phone! Give me a second!” she shouts her voice faint.
“Okay.” I sigh and close my eyes focusing on the sounds that follow. All I hear through the line is a faint shuffle and a loud honking, a screech. I sit up in bed.
The last thing I heard was her voice screaming my name.
