As I walk through Seattle with my friend, Ellen, I can't help but feel like something surreal is going to happen today. I am already trying to contain my excitement for the concert that Ellen and I are going to tonight, but with this feeling that something significant is going to happen, it is really hard to be calm. Today is November 6th and the year is 2010. We've been walking around Seattle most of the day, mainly to kill time before the concert. As the early afternoon hits, around 1, we decide to head towards the venue to wait in line. As we are walking, I look ahead and see familiar faces and instantly gasp. It was the members of All Time Low, the band who we were going to be seeing tonight. I tap Ellen's shoulder hard, getting her attention to show her what I've noticed.
"Ouch, what was that for?" She laughs as she looks at me.
"Look!" I say in excitement as I point to them. "It's All Time Low!"
"Oh my God, should we talk to them?" She asks me.
"Yes!" I yell. "Let's do it." We start to walk a faster pace so we are closer to them then we were before and then comes the time for us to get their attention.
"Alex, Jack, Zack, Rian!" Ellen yells, causing all four of them to look back at us. Before we get a chance to do or say anything, they all walk up to us.
"Hey, what's up?" Jack asks us smiling. Instantly, I feel myself slightly shaking and getting red in the face. I really can't believe I'm meeting my favorite band right now. I knew I was going to meet them today anyway since I had meet and greet, but I wasn't expecting to see them before that.
"We were on the way to the venue to get ready for your guys' show tonight, and Megan happened to notice you guys." Ellen tells them. Still, I am sitting there, speechless and in shock that they are in front of me.
"Aw, well thank you guys for coming tonight." Alex smiles. I've officially lost it. I am so madly in love with him, as I have been for the last 2 years, that being when I discovered All Time Low as a band.
"Can we get pictures with you guys real quick?" Ellen asks them, completely calm. I really wish I had the capability to be as calm as she is being right now.
"Of course." They all respond, showing absolutely no anger with us. I always expected bands to be super rude to their fans, but they're being more respectful than most of the people I go to school with. I take a picture of Ellen with all of them and then she takes my picture with them. I am still in shock from this whole thing, and to know I have a picture with them makes it worse.
"Well, we should probably head to the venue now so we can set it up." Rian says. "It was awesome meeting you guys, we'll see you at the show." Before they get a chance to walk away, I finally get the guts to speak up.
"Actually, we have meet and greet, so we'll be seeing you a little bit before the show." I say, trying to show I'm not extremely nervous.
"Oh really? Sweet!" Zack responds.
"You guys want to hang with us tonight after the show?" Jack asks us. Woah, um what? I can't believe this is happening right now. Jack Barakat is asking us to hang on their bus with All Time Low. No big deal right? I can feel my stomach getting butterflies. This is not real.
"We would love to!" Ellen says to them.
"Sweet, we'll talk it out with Flyzik before the meet and greets to make sure it's ok and we'll let you guys know." Alex says. I am going to fricking die. When I thought something surreal was going to happen today, this is definitely not what I thought. The boys walk off to the venue and
Ellen and I continue to stand there in shock as we watch them walk away.
"Oh my God, can you believe that just happened?" I ask her, practically screaming.
"I'm mainly in shock that Jack asked us to hang with them tonight!" She yells. We continue to fangirl over what just happened as we head to the venue. It wasn't long before we were there, and we get in line near a couple friends that I knew online, Rachel and Dani. As we sit there, all waiting to go into the meet and greet, with Flyzik standing nearby, I tell them about what Ellen and I just experienced.
"That's so crazy, you guys are so lucky!" Rachel smiles.
"I hope you guys get to hang with them tonight!" Dani says. "That would be insane." Before we know it, Flyzik is getting us into a single file line, having each of us show an ID and proof of earning the meet and greet, letting each of us in one at a time. Ellen and I wait patiently inside knowing that it won't be long before we meet up with the boys again.
