JACK'S POV

I locked myself in my room for the remainder of the night, allowing the regret to grow with each hour that passed. Tackling the homework pile that had accumulated on my desk, I let my thoughts on French drown out the sound of my phone buzzing.

ALEX'S POV

By the following morning I had devised a plan to win Jack back, I just had to find the courage to pursue it.

'Dude!' shouted Evan, bumbing his fist against my arm. 'Jenna McDougall's into you,' he pushed a piece of paper into my chest.

I shoved him away; 'Not interested.'

He looked at me in confusion - carelessly throwing the paper over his shoudler - he studied my expressions but gave up and let out sigh of defeat.

The group made its way down the corridor; boys wolf whistling cheerleaders and girls batting their fake eyelashes in our direction.

'Look at this dick,' exclaimed Matt, signalling towards Jack who was moping at his locker, turning the dial as though it required a great deal of effort. My palms became sweaty and my heart beats were irregular, this was my chance.

I stepped on front of Matt and slammed one of my hands against the locker adjacent to Jack's, startling him. He looked up at me with fear in his eyes - did he really think I'd hurt him? Wow, I really was an ass. All the boys sniggered as they assumed I was about to bet him up, but my intentions were quite different.

'You look hot when you're moody.' The boys laughed thinking I was mocking him. Jack seemed very taken aback by my rather blunt statement, his cheeks turning rosy but his face still holding only negative emotion.

I leaned in closer to him and then proceeded to slam my other hand against the locker on the other side of him so he was pinned. Our noses brushed and I lightly placed my lips on his. The boys remained quiet as I continued to kiss Jack, an overwhelming about of butterflies in my stomach. You've made your point, pull away now. I tried to remove myself from him, but I couldn't. Unexpectedly, I found myself grinding against him, temporarily oblivious of the fact that the five most popular guys; my 'friends' were watching.


Finally, I managed to part my lips from his. I pushed myself off the lockers and stood with him on one side and the shocked group on the other. I turned to Evan who looked disgusted by the whole ordeal and grinned at him before glancing at the other boys with the same face.

Everyone was still. Jack was still leaning against the lockers, the boys were all staring at me and I was waiting for the silence to be broken. I felt dizzy and my mouth was dry but I couldn't move, I had to stay in order for my plan to be successful.

Aidan - Matt's follower - spoke up. 'I knew he was a faggot!' he laughed, soon accompanied by the other boys.

'Stay away, Gasgay.' spat Evan, his immature play on words didn't hurt me in the slightest. He covered his mouth in astonishment and then lead off the rest of the guys to where the group of girls stood not too far up the hall. As they left, I could feel the eyes on me and hear the increase of whispers.

'I- I'm sorry,' I grumbled, still angry at myself for what I had done the previous night.

'You just kissed me.' I lifted my heat, confused at Jack's statement.

'In public, you kissed me.'

'Well, I- I figured if I did then you'd know that I want y- you...'

Before I could carry my sentence on, Jack's arms were wrapped around my body. I buried my face in my shoulder and let all the anxiety slip away as though each whisper was becoming fainter and each stare less significant.
