Chapter 16 – Alex

My life was about to turn around and Jack made it easier. He actually called his roommate and asked him to switch rooms with me. I was ecstatic because all I wanted was for Jack to be with me through all of it. I was afraid, yes. I admit it, I wasn't ready to grow up, move to New York and study. I wasn't ready to start being an adult and I needed more time to get my life in order. By Jack being with me, I know I will function better. Sometimes I sounded like a baby to myself, like pull yourself together Alex. I changed so much already, but I couldn't have done it without my family and Zack of course! Now I have Jack, but no guarantee it will be forever...

I stopped myself and did my breathing excercise. I didn't want to let anxiety get the best of me. Me and Jack packed all our stuff and went out with Zack and Rian to have a guys night out. We were really just chillin by the lake and drinking some beers. In that moment I realized just how much I'm gonna miss all this. Next time we do this we'll probably have super fancy jobs and all that. Even though I was absolutely terrified, I was looking forward to the new chapter in my life. I get to spend it with Jack by my side.

My parents didn't have to wake me up the following morning. I was awake for more than an hour before my alarm went off. I did my morning ritual which included washing and doing my hair of course, I wanted to look good. Then I packed my backpack and picked my outfit. I was putting my vans on when my mom knocked on the door and slowly opened it.
''Alex honey, we're picking Jack up in an hour and... oh, you're already up... and ready?''
''Yep. Couldn't sleep.''
''You alright?'' she asked.
''I think so, just excited, you know me.''
''Okay sweetie, dad will help you carry these down, come get some breakfast.'' She smiled and went back downstairs. I'm gonna miss them too.
My phone buzzed and I checked it. Got a message from Jack.
Can't wait to unpack in our new room* Oh babe, me too.
You have no idea how mutual the feeling is, see u soon<3 I replied and ran downstairs to get some food.

After a few hours I was already checking in the dorm house and carrying my luggage upstairs.
''Now boys, have fun, stay safe and learn as much as you can.'' My mom said. She pulled us both into a hug and started crying a little.
''Mom, don't do this... we'll be back for thanksgiving.'' I tried to comfort her.
''Yeah, yeah... I know. Be good.'' She said and pecked our cheeks.
''Don't worry Mrs. Gaskarth, I'll make sure Alex does everything he needs to.'' He winked at her.
My dad just hugged us and wished us good luck. He wasn't crying but I could see he'll miss me. ''And skype us, please. Don't wait until thanksgiving, you know your mom...'' He chuckled. I nodded and walked them out. ''Bye guys, see you soon!''I waved and closed the door. I
I felt Jack, hugging me from behind and diving his face into my hair. ''So it begins.'' He said.
I turned around and squeezed him into a hug. ''And so it does.''

We unpacked and put our beds together. The beds were pretty large, so we put stuff on one and decided to sleep in the other, together. I changed the sheets and put some red bedding on and after setting up our room, we decided to take a stroll around campus, check stuff out. I felt much better and more confident about this, than I did before.
Everything looked badass! There were a few parks where you can chill, a few restaurants and bars and a huge bookstore with a coffee corner where there is so much space for studying, hanging out, it looked great! Jack got us some ice cream and we sat down on a bench in the park and just took some time to relax.

''Well, mister nervouspants, how are you feeling?'' He teased me.
''Amazing, and sorry for being such a poop. You know how my anxiety gets the best of me...''
''Hey, I thought I get the best of you.'' He winked at me and poked me.
''Haha, well... you do. Sorry for being paranoid.''
''No problem, I was a bit nervous too, it is a new environment and I've never been away from home, so... understanding.''
''Well, it's all falling into place now, all I wanted was you... now I get to sleep with you every day.'' I smiled at him and leaned in.
''Hey Alex...'' he said lowering his voice. ''I need to tell you something.''
I pulled back. Before I could say anything, he pressed the ice cream onto my nose, resulting in me looking like a 5 year old that can't eat ice cream. ''You have something on your face.'' He was laughing out loud and I was just being a sour lemon.
''Oh yeah, where?'' I was playing dumb and he didn't see it coming. I leaned in and my lips crashed into his, leaving a creamy mess on his face.
''Heeeey, not fair!'' he was yelling and laughing at the same time.
''Here, you silly goose.'' I handed him a smal pack of tissues I had in my pocket.
I couldn't help but laugh at him, he was just so cute and messy.
''Keep laughing, I'll spank you when we get back.'' He said, trying to keep a serious look, but failed of course.
''Come on, we need some water.'' I said and grabbed his hand. We walked back to the dorm.

''Barakat and Gaskarth?'' The security guard asked when we walked into the lobby.
''Yes.'' I said.
''I have a message for Jack.'' He said and handed us a yellow flyer. Jack took it and thanked him. We were walking to our room and checked what it was for. It was an invite to a party at a bar we checked out before. It was called Fleur's. On the bottom it said Jack! Hope to see you there, Vic. Who the hell is Vic?

Here it is, the next chapter. I was thinking of starting a new fan fiction, either a Jalex again, or a Kellic... I had some stuff in mind, anything is possible.
