What the fuck is happening? My mind feels like it’s exploding. Did he seriously just suggest I finish the tour with them? I’ve been hanging out with them all day sure. But isn’t that sort of a big deal? I look down at my food trying to think this out, I pick at my burger. I can feel all their eyes on me. I’m not sure if it’s positive or not.
“Well, I’m mostly taking online classes. I’m in a Modern Musical arts class and a photography class. Plus Math.” I shrug
“We have professionals come in and take pictures all the time.” Jack shrugs
“Wait you’re into photography?” Zack looks at me and grins.
“Uhm… I guess I am.” I look at him “I’m not very good.”
“That really doesn’t mater.” Zack smiles
“It’d be nice to have someone new with us for a bit.” Alex smiles.
“Yeah. If she were to tour with us where would she sleep? We could all take turns on the floor.” Rian suggests and raises his eyebrows.
“We might have an extra mat.” Flyzik shrugs I can’t focus on everything people are saying. There’s so much going on at once. Matt and Jack pull out their phones.
“She’d have to get excused from school for a week or so.”
“I’m sure her teachers could e-mail her the lesson plans.”
“Who the hell would want to do homework on tour?”
“Well we have to get her parents to allow it somehow.”
“I’m sure her photography teacher and Music teacher might even give her extra credit for work in the professional field.”
“No better way to learn then in the real world.”
“Maybe we could stop by the studio. Show her around if we get a chance after.”
“She could photograph the show. And I’m sure Zack would go out with her to get that done, I mean you do that all the time already dude.”
“Crew said they could list her as Alex’s’ guitar tech so Ian doesn’t have to stress so much.”
“You know how to play guitar right?” I nod at Jack recognizing that he was the one to have said that. All the words feel like they slur together. This seriously can’t be happening. My mother wouldn’t ever allow it. I stutter, “I’m not very good though.” I look at Alex. He smiles “You really don’t need to be.”
“Crew said they’d be okay with it.” Jack smiles
“I’d say band is too.” Rian smiles at me, His hand on my shoulder reassuring me through all the chaos.
“That leaves Manager.” Zack says and looks at Matt
“Who is usually the main obstacle.” Alex adds, Matthew looks at me thinking for a minute silently. I think this is the first time I’ve heard all four of them be quiet at once.
“Come on Mattttt can we keep her?” Jack looks at him with puppy dog eyes.
“We have to get permission from the family first. I’m not the last obstacle here” Matt sighs as the waitress walks over with the bill.
