I smile and lean against the wall butting into the confusion of a conversation occasionally. One of the god things about my friends is you don’t have to make sense to be a part of everything. Zack sits next to me on his computer, but I focus on the new girl. I personally think I’m good at reading people but what bother me most are her legs. She has them sprawled out in front of her obviously.
I glance over at Alex wondering if he’s noticed. He always seems to be the best one to deal with those kinds of things. I keep my arms across my chest trying to understand her. Okay, Suicide Silence shirt, Heavy Metal. She has things to be angry about at school or at home. Her scars imply the same thing. The scars are healing, so it’s probably been a while… I shrug and shake my head.
“Hey Matt, How long are we going to be in?” I ask him trying to focus my eyes on him.
“We’re heading out in the morning. Why?”
I shrug and smile a bit “I was just thinking maybe Hanna could join us for the night to hang out.” Jack smiles
“Yes.” He looks at her like a toddler meeting his new best friend.
“Only if you can…” Alex laughs.
“I’d so love that.” Her face lights up.
“Its settled then.” Alex smiles “You’ve hung out around this place before right?” he looks at Hanna, she shrugs
“Yeah I guess. Why?”
“Well, Where is good for food?” Jack stands up far too eagerly. Zack laughs and pushes him forward with his foot causing him to stumble. “FUCK!” Jack leans against a wall “Fuck you Zack!” he laughs
Hanna leans back in her spot and watches them amused. “Well, there’s a food court. There’s a Lobster place, OH MY GOD!” She stands up “…dude. Rainforest Café.” She grins, “I’m guessing jacks hungry, and Rainforest café is the coolest fucking restaurant you will ever be in. But it’s a family restaurant and aimed at toddlers. But they have animatronics monkeys so it’s cool.”
