Under Stage Lights

"Johnson, Alexis?" the lady sitting on the panel called. Alexis took a deep breath in, exhaling slowly before making her way out to the stage.

"So Alexis, tell us a little bit about yourself." Alexis thought for a moment. Then she spoke.

"My full name is Alexis Rose Johnson; I usually go by Lexi. I'm 16 years old. I love to sing and I love to dance. Music is a passion of mine. I moved here from Grand Rapids, Michigan and before now I've lived there my entire life." The lady wrote a few things down.

"Okay, Lexi. So you want to dance and sing here, correct?"

"Yes ma'am." Lexi answered with a smile.

"You were supposed to prepare a dance routine and two songs to sing. Did you do so?" Lexi nodded.

"Yes ma'am, I did."

"Very well. So what you're going to do is start with your dance routine. After that, I'd like to here both songs that you prepared and then you'll have 5 minutes with Alexander here to prepare a couple of duets that you will sing with him. You may begin when ready." Lexi cued the audio guy to begin the music for her dance routine. The opening chords to "Skinny Love" by Birdy came over the speakers. She danced beautifully. The routine flowed smoothly, toes perfectly pointed, movements sharp. It was all around beautifully executed, breath taking really. The song came to an end and and Lexi looked to find a wide grin on the judge's face and Alex's eyes wide with surprise. He'd sat through quite a few of these auditions before and she is most possibly the best he's seen. Next came the vocal auditions. The intro to "No Parallels" by Hands Like Houses. Lexi started to sing.

Heavy on our heels, the rocky ground we leave behind." Afterwards came "Perfect" by Simple Plan. She sang strong, and with so much emotion. Alex was impressed to say the least. He was definitely looking forward to the short collaboration he'd get to do with her. Not only was she talented, but she had nice taste in music too, really nice. She finished with the solo part of the audition before being directed over to an area where her and Alex would work together on a couple of duets.

"Hi, I'm Alexander, but please just call me Alex because Alexander sounds really posh." Alex rambled on. What was he doing? Lexi smiled. He thought this girl was gorgeous. She had long brown hair and bright blue eyes.

"I'm Alexis, but call me Lexi because.. well I don't really have a reason.." Something about this girl intrigued Alex. She gave off this bubbly, care free persona, but her eyes said there was so much more. Alex was going to find out.

"Do you know what songs you want to sing for the duets?" Alex asked. She nodded lightly.
"I was thinking maybe Kiss Me Again by We Are The In Crowd and A Part of Me by Neck Deep?" she said as more of a question.

"That's good. That's really good." came Alex's reply. "You have really good taste in music." they headed back out to the stage. They started with "A Part of Me" then came "Kiss Me Again".
"I gotta say something I've been thing 'bout, I can't wait to lay around with you." Alex sang, glancing to the side and smiling at Lexi. Her stomach fluttered a bit.

"It's bee a while since I felt butterflies, do you feel the same way too?
If every single second could last longer would you hold me" the song continued on and the feelings between them intensified.

"I can't let you go, can't let you float away"

"Cause that would be a mistake" they moved away from each other a bit, slowly making their way back towards each other during the last chorus.

"Oh, kiss me again." They both sang, finishing the song only a few centimeters away from one another.

So this took forever for me to get up. I didn't have my laptop and I'm entirely too lazy for mobile updates. This is short and suckish.. oops. I also attempted a cliff hanger. Anyways.. I'm going to try to update about once a week, but I can't promise anything. And yeah, that's it.
