A Little Therapy

Turn a Page, I'm a Book Half Unread.

Jack stood awkwardly between the two boys looking at him curiously. The taller was looking at him with the same cautious gaze that those caramel eyes never failed to give; deep and gentle yet with something wild that made his entire body heat up. The shorter had the same dark look that those stormy eyes always held-something that made him shiver with anticipation and want to push him against walls and doors and…headboards. The brunette bit his lips and turned his suddenly lustful gaze to the crimson carpet under his almost bare feet. “S-So,” He stammered, more nervous than he knew he should be. “Wh-Why did you br-bring me here?” distrustful voices that shook were more often his tone than any other. Looking up at his…acquaintances, he almost regretted asking at the twin Cheshire cat grins on their faces.

“Well first of all, dude, it’s like another two hours till school and it’s freezing out there so I couldn’t just leave you wandering like a lost puppy in a place like this, I know it’s looks posh but fuck…you wouldn’t last a minute in the real shit around here,” The genuine fear that Kellin appeared to have struck some sort of chord in Jack, for he’d never really been cared for, if he came home bloodied and bruised his father would just scream for him getting blood and dirt of his Persian carpets. “So I decided to just take you with me, and in future, be careful,” Alex had remained silent and leaning against the wall throughout the entire exchange, before he finally stood up straight to speak in a much softer tone.

“The world out there isn’t like the world you live in Jack, it isn’t as sheltered as you are, you step into those streets and you are property of it, you gotta learn how to stand up for yourself, not just in real fighting but what’re you going to do if you end up the poster boy for a bullying advert kid?” There was something about the way he said it, the certainty in the way he said it that just made it seem alittle too real for him to handle. The troublesome two were astonishingly, bitingly, right. He was the perfect target-rich kid living a sheltered life? How much longer was he expected to last until he becomes a target?

“Why do y-you care?” The words were a little bitter but they needed to be asked. Never in his life had he had someone do something as simple as care about him, so now it just seemed like the worst possible thing that could happen. What if they are using me for something? What if they just another member on their posse? His suddenly braver attitude caused him to straighten out and finally look into the chocolate caramel orbs he had been so afraid of losing himself in.

“Because you are a part of our turf now, and as a rule, we look out for the new kids, though I have to admit, there’s a certain edge to you that makes it all the worthwhile,” Jesus Christ, that smirk. He heard his mother chastising him for taking the lord’s name in vain, but as Alex lit a cigarette slowly and brought the unlit end to his lips, suddenly the thought of any deity looking at him there made him ashamed. All at once his cheeks became the colour of a fiery sky, an electric shock ran down his spine and butterflies that were more like fully-fledged hunting birds pressed at the insides of his stomach enough to make him feel sick.

“You’re pretty for a newbie,” Kellin joined in, seeing the opportunity as he walked around him; Jack could feel those collided cerulean eyes scanning over every part of him, burning into his skin like a brand of ownership. When he came to the front, he was just a little too close, his breath ghosting the russet eyed boy’s face like the trajectory of fingertips over his spine. “I kinda like it,” But them he was pulled away and a whimper escaped the back of Jack’s throat. Now I’m in deep trouble.

The two teens traded a look between them; the one with strands of hair darker than the night drew up a smirk of clear victory, whilst the one with honey coloured hair mussed in no partial style simply look sort of lost. “Sorry, I didn’t quite catch that,” The premier boy bit his lip and stepped forward again, eyes solely on his and his only; clearly he only had one thing in mind, what he always had in mind…

…And Jack panicked, he jumped away from him like he had been set alight, eyes wide and emotions broken as he immediately backed away into a wall. Alex, as if seeing the terror in the younger boy’s eyes, laid a hand on his best friend’s arm and pulled him away to shake his head. “Look at him, he’s terrified,” He muttered “If he is gay then he’s new to this shit, either way he’s still a virgin and we had a deal remember?” the caramel haired boy hissed under his breath. The disappointment all over the boy with freckles like constellations was somewhat dampening. Yet he nodded in mutual respect for the other boy and gestured for him to come back.

“We’re not gonna hurt you, we’re just going to help you, no funny business, stick with us and you won’t have any problems, at all,” It seemed like a fair deal, it was also valid, given the fact that the flood of students themselves parted for the walkway of their elected kings (even though kings aren’t elected). So he edged closer. “We have two hours,” Kellin continued, “So let me explain high school too you properly,” Alex tossed his now burnt out cigarette end through the window and perched on the end of the bed patiently.

"O-Ok,"

Notes

Yes, It's short. Yes, I'm sorry. Yes, I know it's crappy, again I'm sorry. I just have a lot on my plate. Next time will probably be better.
