A Little Therapy

A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing Is More Than A Warning

Walking into school had never felt so terrifying, except for perhaps the first day but that was expected to be a unnerving ordeal. To everyone else this was a normal day as they waltzed in and greeted their friends. Alex and Kellin did their handshake that they usually always fail, Jack and Vic exchanged a silent nod, Jaime and Mike hid behind the bike shed for a smoke whilst Oli Sykes and Josh Franceschi went for their usual weed-laced make out session in the back alley behind school. It was normal. Except it also wasn’t, Kellin and Vic, for one, were acting a little differently; exchanging these little glances every now and then that was only noticed by their closest friends. Then there was the vice-versa with Jack and Alex.

Now caught up in each other’s relationships as a distraction, it becomes one long circle in which they constantly tried to deflect the conversations off of each other. Jack, unsurprisingly, was the first to give in and explain it all for the eagerly awaiting Vic Fuentes, gripping the table for something to take him away from his own current relationship problems. But he was a great listener and perhaps that was why Jack always found great comfort in him, similarly the Mexican found great company in a boy that didn’t expect him to speak. But first, Jack had a new story to tell.

“My father he…he hurts my mother,” he said softly “And sometimes me,” Those hazel orbs downcast away from the tense reflection of the silent boy, of whom had horror etched into his face “I couldn’t stay there…I couldn’t be there, I was a coward and I ran…” There were tears in his voice, yet he packed them tightly together so that he could speak without a violent shake to his tone. “And I ran to Alex,” He felt a little terrible, for he probably should’ve ran to Vic and Mike, both helped him settle in so quickly, both helped him relax as much as possible and gain a friendship circle so different from the one that found him by themselves. “I don’t remember much, just crying a lot, he didn’t speak either, just kept holding me until I fell asleep,” A small smile curved elegantly up his lips as he recalled the gravelly morning voice the other had when he had awoke “When I woke up we were all tangled up, us and the bedsheets, I tried to move and he told me to shut up and g0o back to sleep, woke up again about three or four hours later,” He looked up and finally met Vic’s eyes, “We had breakfast and a smoke, and then…well…I tripped and we…we sort of landed on his bed and then we kissed, that’s it,” There was still a ghost of a smile on his lips “And it was my first kiss,” And then Vic gave a small smile back, ‘at least one of us is happy,’ he thought.

Vic and Kellin’s story was only ever told in fragments, and perhaps that was for the best, because if either Alex or Jack realised early on how much damage either of them had done to the other well…they probably would’ve killed their best friends.

Alex gave in second, but he blew it off so easily that for the most part he wished he had spared the bluff “We just made out a little, no big deal,” He played, his eyes rolling and fingers snatching up a cigarette, his bluff evident from the get go by the master of masked feelings. One look from those cerulean eyes followed by a cheeky smile had words tumbling from Alex’s lips that he wished he hadn’t “And maybe I sort of want to fuck him,” It was so crude that it even surprised Kellin, who arched his eyebrows in response behind his mane of ebony. “And technically, I won, so I get to,” The Charcoal haired boy cussed under his breath and waved his hand dismissively because at that moment, he didn’t entirely care.

“But you also like him,” Kellin concluded, blowing out rings of smoke whilst glancing over at the other end of the bike shed where Jaime Preciado was trying to climb (with little avail) on top of it. As if the two had switched personalities for the day with the power of observation, Alex jumped at the accusation and shook his head with a stutter. His caramel eyes widened with a slight comical effect that made his best friend chuckle. “Don’t give me that look Gaskarth, I know you are, just like I know you had a thing for me for the last five years,” He blew out some more smoke nonchalantly, and in that moment the Essex born boy genuinely hated Kellin Quinn.

Notes

SO YOU'RE ALL AWARE, THAT'S RIGHT THE THREE PEOPLE READING THIS. KELLIC'S SIDE OF THE STORY WILL NOT BE EXPLAINED IN THIS BOOK. THERE WILL BE A SECOND BOOK AFTER THIS ONE CALLED "Tangled In The Great Escape," WHICH WILL EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN THEM AND WHY THEY ARE SUCH FUCKING FUCK UPS AND I S2G YOU WILL HATE THEM BOTH AFTERWARDS.

Dedicated to @Jagk and @Twat for reading this btw, please leave more comments they make me happy!
