Oh Calamity!

I walked into school the following morning
“Why the hell did you ignore me all last night?” Laura said appearing next to me before school started
“Alex found out, grounded me took away my phone, had to deal with him and Jack all night” I sighed it wasn’t that bad but I had to make it seem worse, she thought they went to easy on me and that I shouldn’t be bothered,
“Really? You really need to learn how to lie” she laughed
“it’s never going to work Alex knows the second I lie, apparently him and Jack suspected something for a while, the second I left my bag alone he looked in and saw the slips, then grilled me, he’s not giving me any slack for a while, and he’s not going to let me go out all the time when he finally lets me out” I sighed, it bothered me a little but I was glad I had a reason not to let her control me like that,
“God they need to loosen up, didn’t they mess around when they were younger?”
“yeah and my grandma killed Alex apparently, my mum used to tell me what they were like when they were younger, I think Alex is trying to stop me from getting like that, he doesn’t want that type of relationship”
“Then use that, if he doesn’t want to punish you he won’t, he’s bluffing” she grinned
“I can’t if I go too far then he will, I know he will and I will make things worse for myself”
“Suit yourself, I would push him to the limit” she laughed. I went through lessons working on catching up, I handed in my detention slips, and as much of the work as possible, I went to detention
“ok you 2 opposite sides of the room, and do the work you have missed” the teacher said to me and Laura, I nodded and sat down, and worked on catching up, I was doing well, I looked over and Laura was making faces at me, I smiled
“you 2 you are in here for a reason, stop it and work” I mumbled sorry and got on with my work annoyed she had got me in trouble, when we were done the teacher asked me to stay behind I sighed, once everyone was out of the room,
“Yes miss?” I asked at her desk
“I just want to talk to you, I noticed you working again, and I wanted to know what is going on”
“I, made a mistake and stopped working, I talked to my uncle about it and I’m trying to catch up” I said quickly embarrassed I had to admit it to other people
“I’m glad your uncle knows, I was beginning to wonder if you were telling him where you were, and was worried he didn’t know you were struggling, I know it’s that girl encouraging you, if it happens again I will be contacting him”
“It won’t, he is making sure of that now” I said trying to hide my disappointment in that
“Good” she smiled
“Oh I have my homework for you I missed” I said handing her it
“Ok thank you” she smiled I walked out seeing Laura had waited for me
“God what did she want?”
“Just checking up on me” I smiled,
“Really ugh” she moaned
“Right I’ve got to get going, Alex knows what time I should be home” I smiled speeding up,
“God he’s really controlling you now” she complained, I didn’t answer and walked home not saying much
“Right I will see you tomorrow” I said running in,
“You still hanging out with her?” Jack said as I walked in
“A little, we had detention together why were you spying on me what did you think I would do outside of the window?”
“you had detention because of her! And I heard you coming and wondered if you were still hangning with her when you are grounded” Jack complained
“Jack leave her alone, go do your homework” Alex said, I sighed and nodded, I went up and did some work for a while making sure the stuff for the next day was done before working on my older stuff, eventually Alex walked in,
“How was school?” he asked sitting on my bed
“ok, Laura was a little annoying, complaining because I got caught, I’m getting through the work I missed, but she keeps almost getting me in trouble, I’m trying to not lose her completely but she makes it hard sometimes” I explained,
“Just let me know what’s happening ok?” he smiled I nodded, “you nearly done?” he asked,
“This or what I have left?”
“Well this, or your work for tomorrow”
“This is nearly done, work for tomorrow is done already just catching up with my other stuff so I don’t get in more trouble”
“Good, so do you have detention all week?”
“No, this was the 3rd, I’ve got 2 more tomorrow and the next day, then I’m done” I said feeling guilty I wasn’t sure if he knew I had detentions already,
“I knew you had hid them don’t worry we have talked about that, 2 more then I want you home on time every night”
“I know, I will” I sighed
“No attitude” he warned
“Sorry” I said quietly,
“Its ok” he smiled “just try to lose the attitude when talking about this, you got yourself into the mess, so don’t expect anything less than me checking on you”
“I know it’s just I’m trying and you keep warning me, it just gets a little frustrating”
“I know you are trying but you lost my trust when you snuck around and didn’t tell me you were in trouble, I trusted you to do your work and you took advantage of that, now even if you are working I will check and you cannot complain since you caused this” Alex said simply, knowing I couldn’t argue
“Ok I get it” I sighed,
“Ok good, now finish up and come down” Alex said walking out, I finished my work and walked downstairs
“Hey ash” Jack smiled I sat next to him
“Hey” I said not wanting to kill him for once,
“So how was school?”
“Fine”
“You get in trouble?” he asked
“No” I huffed at the question
“Jack leave her alone, and I want to see your homework diary, I’m going to check your comments too” Alex said I sighed and got up, he hadn’t looked at what had been said before I got caught and was worried he would look, I just couldn’t get away from what I had done, I handed it to him reluctantly,
“What’s the problem?” Alex asked holding it but didn’t open it
“Nothing” I lied
“Liar” Jack said
“Jack go away” I complained
“I was going to point that out in a less obvious way, and don’t be rude, you hesitated and looked worried about handing me it, what’s the problem have you been in trouble?” Alex said staring at me making me feel uncomfortable,
“Spit it out” Jack said, I looked at him annoyed
“Ash just tell us”
“No nothing happened since I told you, I’m worried about you looking at the stuff from before”
“I want to know, plus I’ve told you I’m not going to get mad about the past, but I need to know what happened, now do you want to tell me anything before I look at it all?”
“It’s just I wasn’t always behaving in class, Laura kept talking and getting us in trouble”
“Don’t blame her for everything you joined in. but thank you now I’m checking and will look at the rest later ok?” I nodded Jack put his arm around me
“You need to get used to telling us stuff”
“Why you?” I moaned
“Because you love me, and will never get rid of me” he smirked, I laughed shaking my head, “plus when you aren’t being awkward you know you can talk to me” he smiled I nodded
“ok I’m going to go do some homework” I smiled, I wanted to get it over with, and to get away from them, plus I needed to use my computer and I was missing it, I walked up and turned it on, sat at my desk and got my books out, but it asked for a password
“Alex have you been on my computer?” I shouted annoyed
“Yes but you shouldn’t be remember?” he shouted
“I need it for some homework!” I shouted a little annoyed he did it without telling me
“Well you could have asked” I said hearing him come up the stairs
“It was for homework”
“And it was banned” he said coming into my room, he unlocked it,
“I will come up in half an hour to check if you are done” he warned, I sighed, and got on with my work I did all the work I needed on my computer which took longer than half an hour, Alex came up and checked on me as promised, I showed him what I was doing and he left happy even though I was not, I finished not long after that and decided to do some art research, I needed more pictures, I had decided to base my project on the band so I searched for pictures, I heard Jack walk in
“Hey Jack” I said as he walked in,
“You not going to hide that you were just looking us up instead of working?” he laughed “it could have been Alex”
“I am working and I knew it wasn’t Alex”
“You would have hid it from him?”
“Maybe, he doesn’t trust me” I said sarcastically
“Ash, come on, do you blame him? And he would if you said it was work and explained it”
“But he doesn’t trust me at all?”
“I knew that was bothering you, he said you were giving him attitude for that, he does trust you, but he is just keeping a close eye on you to make sure, and you really can’t blame him, he trusted you and you abused it, so put up with it, anyway why don’t you just take some pictures?”
“it’s meant to be famous people, then it would be family, and I’m looking at band shots now, and I need to print out research, don’t worry I’m not looking at the videos and just looking at basic information” I said rolling my eyes
“I know I can see, and stop it with the attitude, I haven’t said I don’t trust you, I agree Alex needs to watch you at least for a while, but I don’t think you will do anything wrong, you aren’t that stupid”
“Thanks I think” I laughed
“So once you do your research which I can help with massively are you done?”
“Everything yeah” I nodded
“Good, now what do you need to know?”
“Nothing I just need pictures for styles, I’m going to use album art work, I nearly have them all, then I’m going to draw until tea” I smiled
“Well it’s almost done, so move over, I can find everything quicker” he said pushing me out the way and searched all their albums finding the pictures easily, just before Alex shouted for me, I printed it and Jack locked the computer before we left. I sat down with Alex and Jack sat down too
“Do you ever go out you are always here now?” I laughed, he used to go out a lot but now it felt like he was always around, Alex shook his head
“Sometimes I do!” Jack said defending himself, Alex laughed “anyway, tell Alex the good news” Jack smiled
“Huh?” I said confused
“What you just told me” he smiled, I looked at him confused then I realised
“oh yeah I’ve caught up on all my work, once I hand it in tomorrow everything will be back to normal other than my detentions” I smiled
“Ok good, you can spend more time with us then” Alex smiled, I groaned making them laugh,
“We can start up your guitar lessons tonight” Jack said happily
“Oh I was going to do some art”
“Come on, you had fun before” he complained
“Yeah you were doing really well, oh and I’m going to pick you up from school we are going to record so I’m bringing you with me”
“What about my homework?” I asked making them both give me a look
“You can do it there if you have too much” Alex said plainly, knowing I was being awkward,
“The guys want to see you anyway since you started hanging with Laura and not doing your homework you barely hung around long enough for them to say hi”
“Fine” I sighed.
