Oh Calamity!

Jack pov
I ran up to Ash’s room, I was really worried about her, I knew she could be really hard on herself, so god knows what she was thinking, I tried to open her door but it was locked, since when did she have a lock on her door? I sighed and knocked
“Ash open up” I called
“Go away” I could hear she had been crying
“Open the door” I said seriously,
“Just leave me alone” she said sniffing,
“Ashleigh I mean it I’m not playing open the door now!” I said, then shocked myself that was the most serious I had ever had to be with her, she would be awkward but I normally never had to ask her more than twice, and I hated it, she unlocked the door but left it shut, I opened it and she was almost back to her bed
“You could have opened it” I said a little annoyed but let it go, “so you going to explain what happened?”
“Alex already told you, I can tell” she said into her pillow
“I mean what happened to make you swear at him, then we will talk about Alex, he is sorry by the way he did not mean that” I saw her relax a little,
“Why does something always have to be wrong?” she complained sitting up
“You swore at Alex, and shouted at him that isn’t normal, you did it because he knew something was up, so tell me what”
“Jack!” she complained,
“Don’t Jack me, what happened, was it at school?” I asked she looked down
“So Laura?” I said, she didn’t answer but I knew I was right,
“What was it about this time, was it us?” I asked, she didn’t react,
“It would be much quicker if you just told me, you know you will talk eventually, or we could talk about you and Alex, and you wanting to move back to England?”
“I didn’t mean that, and I really didn’t think he would agree to it”
“he didn’t, not really, he needs to talk to you about the summer those were one of the options, the one he didn’t want you to take but when you said that he felt like you did, neither of you should have said what you did ok? Now do you want to go talk to Alex first or tell me what Laura said first, you will do both but you can decide the order” I smiled,
“She saw us with Tay” she said quietly, she looked really upset
“Oh god what did she say?” I said kneeling down next to her
“That it was nice I was getting to know my new mom”
“You know that’s crap, what else?” I said guessing she was holding back the worst of it she normally did
“That soon she would move in, Alex is basically my dad now so she would be like my mom and they would want more privacy so you would move out and that I would have to get used to my new family”
“ok one, Alex is nowhere near ready for that, two he would talk to you before anything major, three before you were here Tay knew there was no getting rid of me, now you are here that is impossible, and 4 most importantly why are you listening to that bitch?” I said annoyed, she had wormed her way into ash’s head,
“I don’t know I didn’t listen but then I thought about it and what if that did happen
“it would never happen, and I promise you I won’t let her get rid of me, I will always be around to annoy you, and I will always be part of this dysfunctional family thing we have going, yes she might at some point possibly join, but it will never be motherly, hell I am more likely to take that role, ok?” I smiled sitting next to her, she was calming down a little,
“I know it was stupid, I knew it when I came in but I couldn’t tell Alex what was wrong, I just wanted some time alone to get over it, to prove she was wrong but he wouldn’t leave me alone, and everything I had held in at school, just came out, and now he wants me to move back to England”
“No he doesn’t”
“He definitely doesn’t” Alex said at the door quietly “ok I missed what you couldn’t tell me, but listen, if you swear at me, or talk to me like that again you will be grounded again and in serious trouble, and no I don’t want you to move to England. I don’t want you to go for the summer, it’s a choice you have, come down and talk we do have a decision to make” Alex smiled she followed him still unsure, we walked down and Tay had gone.
“Listen the band meeting we had was about a tour I have put off as much as I can, it’s all summer, so I don’t have to leave you during school, now our options are you come with us, that has its problems but we can deal with them, stay with family in England, or stay with someone over here, possibly your grandparents, but I’m not sure about that, they do want to meet you but your mum was never keen on that, so that’s a weird option, now coming on tour would have a big set of rules, we would be working, you would have a bed time even if the guys go out, just because you see or hear anything inappropriate doesn’t mean you can act like that, now what is your first thought?” Alex said and took a breath, he looked nervous
“I- don’t want to go to England I would miss you too much and I didn’t mean it when I said it, I’m sorry”
“I am sorry too you’re still grounded but I’m sorry” Alex said with a sad smile
“I want to go on tour, but it sounds like you don’t want me to” she said looking down
“We do” I smiled
“We do ash, it’s just going to be complicated, part of me thinks you are too young, but I don’t want to leave you and like I said the crew will be going out drinking, and staying up late, and I’m not sure I want you around all of that”
“You want to be able to do all that”
“No I would be worrying about you all tour if you weren’t there, I’m worried about the bad examples”
“I want to come if you want me to” she said not wanting to commit with what had been said
“Ok we will need to organise some things, now have you done your homework?”
“No” she sighed
“go get it, and you are grounded like I said 1 week, but you know you don’t have to stay up there” Alex smiled, she nodded and went to get her stuff, she did her homework then showed me her art, what she had organised, it was amazing I was so excited to see it,
“Alex can you unlock my computer, I want to design the picture to sow” ash asked as sweetly as she could making me want to laugh,
“You can use my laptop if you want it has Photoshop, I can help you with it too” Alex smiled
“ok yeah” she said sounding happy, I watched them giving suggestions, it was fun to work together, once we were happy Alex printed out the design,
“It looks so cool, I will get it printed tomorrow and work on that one at home”
“Can you help me with the others, when I need to design them?” she asked
“Yeah, I will teach you how to use it, you can do it, we will just watch and give ideas ok?” he asked she nodded happy then worked on the rest of her work, she still seemed unsure,
“I’m going to go out soon, ask her what was wrong, gently she is sensitive about it but you need to know, if she gets angry or upset let her, she needs to get it out just stay calm”
“What is it?”
“Talk to her”
“I’m not deaf” ash complained
“Ok I’m going, tell him” I said seriously she rolled her eyes.
Ash pov
So Jack not as subtle as he thought he was being told Alex to talk to me then left
“So what do I need to know?” he asked, I sighed I didn’t bother trying to get out of it,
“Ash come on tell me”
“Laura saw us all with Tay and made comments, they upset me ok? I know she is wrong and whatever but it still upset me and telling you would upset you so I tried to get over it myself but you kind of cornered me and I didn’t deal with it well”
“What did she say?” he said trying to look calm,
“The usual about Tay replacing mom”
“And” he said knowing that didn’t bother me that much
“she would move in and stop Jack coming round, and I would have to get used to my new family without Jack” I said looking down it still bothered me even though Jack assured me he would never let it happen
“ash that is rubbish, we are years away from her moving in, and she wouldn’t even try to keep Jack away, she knows better than to get in the way of our relationship, never mind yours, plus Tay would never do that, ash you should have told me it wouldn’t upset me, I would have tried to help”
“I couldn’t say it in front of her either, it would be weird”
“ok I kind of get that, you can ask to talk to me in private though, next time do that she won’t mind and I would rather you told me and I got a little upset than our little fight today”
“I’m sorry about that” I said feeling bad
“It’s ok, but do not swear talk or shout at me like that ever again” I said seriously
“I won’t I’m so sorry” I said sadly,
“I know, I am too, I should have handled the whole thing better” he smiled, he hugged me and we settled down for the night.
