Happy Fathers Day
Chapter 2
It was four months later and Alex's hormones were already out of control. He went from being happy and giddy to being sad and depressed in a matter of seconds, crying his eyes out next to a bucket of chocolate chip ice cream.
He had told Jack the night he found out, which had led to an argument and Jack leaving, but then he had come back after about an hour and apologized, which led to some of the greatest make up sex either of them had ever had.
Right now though, both men were at the store, Alex following Jack as he pushed the cart down the aisles, Hayden was thankfully asleep and not asking for everything that they passed like she normally did.
"Baby?" Jack paused, picking up a box of cereal and turning to Alex.
"Hmm?"
"Everything okay?" He asked, placing the cereal in the cart, being careful not to wake Hayden.
Alex nodded and ran his fingers through his hair, making the ends stand up and Jack would've laughed had it not been the fact that his husband had a troubled look on his face.
"No. Something is not right. I know how you are. What's wrong?" Jack asked, walking up to Alex and stroking his arm.
The elder sighed and placed a hand over his small bump of a pregnant stomach. Even though he was more than 3 months along, he was still barely showing.
"I just... I'm scared Jack."
"Scared about what, baby?"
"The baby. It feels... different than when I had Hayden. Hell when I was pregnant with her I was already showing at six weeks! But this time around... I dunno... It's like there's no sign that I'm even pregnant at all." He turned his head, looking away from his husband.
Jack sighed and kissed his husbands cheek. "Baby, the doctor said that every pregnancy is different, we just have to wait it out. Trust me, nothing is gonna happen to you or this baby."
"I know, but still, I'm nervous." Alex sighed. "Maybe I'm just being stupid."
Jack shook his head. "No, you aren't being stupid. You're pregnant and hormonal. How about we go home after we finish checking out and watch movies and cuddle on the couch? Just like we used to when we were teenagers."
Alex smiled. "I knew there was a reason why I married you."
Jack smirked, lacing his fingers with Alex's. "Baby, there are a million reasons why you married me."
~~~
Just as Jack had promised, once they got home and put Hayden to bed and put away the food, Jack turned on a movie and Alex curled himself into Jacks side, Jack wrapping an arm around him and pressing a kiss to his forehead.
"Jay?" Alex whispered halfway through the movie.
"What baby?"
"I love you. Thank you for being there for me through all this shit."
"I love you too, Lex. No problem baby."
It was then that Alex felt a kick in his stomach and pressed his hand over the small bump, smiling when he felt another kick in response.
"Jack!" Alex exclaimed, smacking Jack on his arm.
"Ow! What?!"
Instead of answering his husband, he picked up Jacks hand and laid it over his stomach, letting him feel the baby moving.
Jacks face lit up like a kids on Christmas morning. "Is he...?"
Alex nodded. "He's moving. He's fine."
Jack kissed Alex's lips quickly, rubbing his stomach and cherishing the way he felt at this moment. "I told you everything would be fine."
And at this moment, Alex felt like nothing could ever go wrong in his life.
