Chapter 13:
Alex's POV
My heart was racing, my throat was burning, my knees were about to give in but I wouldn't stop till I reached Tay's house. Tears slid down my cheeks as I thought of her. Please be ok Tay.
I burst through door really hoping I'd gone in the right house. The house was empty. I recognised the stairs and as I listened in for any noise, I recognised the small high pitched whimpers coming from Tay's bedroom. I ran up the stairs and opened her bedroom door to find her lying on her bed, passed out in blood stained sheets. More tears made their way down my burning cheeks.
"Tay!" I screamed. "Tay wake up, please." I begged shaking her shoulders lightly. She whimpered and her beautiful brown eyes fluttered open.
"Alex." She faintly whispered smiling at me. I hugged her waist tightly and she wrapped her arms around my neck. I rested my head on her shoulder, taking in her scent.
"I thought I'd lost you Tay. I-I thought I'd lost you." I took her wrist carefully in my hands. Tears continued to travel down my cheeks as I kissed each individual cut. "Why?" I whimpered when I was done.
"J-Jack, it's all my fault." I shook my head and closed my eyes making more tears fall from my eyes.
"Jack had problems of his own. Granted he didn't need this," I gestured between us, "But this certainly isn't your fault. Now promise me: no more."
She shook her head, "I'm sorry I can't promise that." She said then bit her lip. I tipped her head up with my finger so she was looking into my eyes.
I leant close to her, ghosting over her ear, "Come live with me Tay," I whispered, "I want to help you." I pulled away and she smiled the biggest smiled before covering it with her hand and letting tears spill down her cheeks.
"A-Alex I can't just walk in on you and your-"
I pressed my finger to her lips, letting it linger there a little longer than needed, "shh." I tucked a bit of her hair behind her ear. "I'm not asking you, you're coming with me, we're doing this together, we're stopping together." She shot me a confused look and I pulled down my jeans, her look went from confused to worried as I revealed the hundred of scars on my thighs. She cupped my cheek with her hand and pressed her lips to mine. Butterfly's flew about in my stomach and fireworks went off in my head. She pulled away after a few minutes and stared into my eyes, stroking my cheek.
She nodded, "ok." She beamed at me and I pulled my trousers up awkwardly.
"We'll let's get your stuff ready!" I said grinning.
I was falling in love.
