Dressed to Kill

Prologue

I’m gonna tell you four stories.
The first one is about how all of this started.

There’s an old legend that says Slenderman, a faceless monster I’m sure you’ve heard about (if not, google it), and a human had twins. Although this human was not exactly… human, in that aspect. Her name was Edith and she lived in Rockville, Maryland.
Edith never met her parents because they got killed after her birth, but she always knew she had something special that made her different from every other girl, or human. She was left in the same house she was born, which became abandoned when her parents’ bodies were mysteriously burned to ashes. She lived there alone but surprisely didn’t die, instead she grew up and became a beautiful young woman.
One day, when she was 23, a young man started to come to her house every day. He was tall and lanky, but still muscular. He had black hair and silver eyes which sparkled with the sun, his hair was always messy, but it made him look attractive. He had literally white and flawless skin and he gave Edith some extra food, some water, even clothing. He was always polite and claimed he lived in a house near hers, although that was practically impossible because nobody else lived in the forest. He always wore a black suit and a black tie and he was charming, funny and very interesting. They soon started to have longer conversations and went out for long walks in the forest. They became very close and they liked each other a lot.
One day, they were sitting next to a cliff, with the forest behind them, watching the sunset when she felt the guy’s hand touch hers. She turned to him and leaned closer, about to kiss, but he pulled away.
“S-Sorry, I-I, that was stupid, s-sorry” she turned away, hiding a few tears that escaped her eyes.
“No, I’m sorry” he said, putting his long fingers under her chin and made her look at him, “I’m not used to being with a human, sorry”
“You’re not human?” she asked, confused. He shook his head and looked away, “What are you, then?”
“You don’t wanna know” he whispered.
“Yes, I do” she insisted, “You won’t scare me” she thought it was some dark joke.
“I will” he looked at her with a threatening look. She flinched at first, but relaxed.
“No, you won’t” she turned his head with her fingers, “Please”
“Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you” he bit his lip with a worried expression before closing his eyes.
His hair started to bury itself in his head, his lips became white, like his skin, and his eyes somehow disapeared, fading with his skin. His arms and legs became longer and his muscles disapeared, he stood up. It was night and he looked terrifying.
Edith froze when some tentacles grew out of his back. Her eyes started to blur and she heard a white noise. She put her hands in her ears and felt tears roll down her cheeks. She had already calmed down, emotionally, but her body didn’t seem to get that, so she looked at him and tried to remember the sweet and caring man she met. Her legs were about to make her run, but she took all her strength to stay and curled herself in a ball.
“Stop it, p-please” she heard herself saying.
The man -or monster- nodded and came back to his ‘human’ form. He sat next to her, not touching her.
“You’re scared, now?” he whispered, almost to himself.
Edith shook her head, catching the man’s attention. She wasn’t scared anymore, but her body was.
“Surprising” he said, “Not many people are capable of staying in the same spot” he looked at her and leaned a bit closer, “My name’s Silván, by the way” he said, “Although some people know me as Slenderman” Edith’s head shot up. She’d heard that name before, people in town talked about him, they said he killed people in the forest.
“N-Nice t-to m-meet y-you” she help up her hand, shaking.
“I’m so sorry for scaring you” he looked concerned.
“I i-insisted” she paused, taking deep breaths and sitting properly, “And I’m not that scared of you, I just didn’t expect t-that”
“Mhm” he looked unsure.
“Edith” she presented herself, sitting again next to him, and smiling like nothing happened. She thought Silván had trusted her and, so far, he hadn’t hurt her or killed her and had treated her perfectly, so she didn’t have the need to fear him.
They talked for a while more. Edith kept asking him non-stop about his ‘monster’ form. She felt herself relax more and more as they talked.
“You’re something else, Edith” she smiled and blushed a bit. Before she knew, he had his lips on hers. She kissed him back shyly, blushing like mad, and closed her eyes, “I like it” they exchanged a smile.
From that day, their relationship kept becoming better. Slend, as she called him, had transformed various times in front of her, and her body seemed become used to him, in all his human and non-human forms. After two months, he moved in with her and kept taking care of her, exchanging kisses and cuddling in bed. He went out to ‘hunt’ when she was asleep, and came back before she woke up. Their relationship started to become even better and they started to have heaten make-out sessions, and some occassional sex. They got married, in the most informal and unofficial way, but married, still. It wasn’t that long they were married until Edith announced she was pregnant.
However, when the people in town knew about some lanky figure wandering the woods and night being caugh entering Edith’s house, and seeing an extremely pale guy with her all the time, things got worse. In town, they noticed her differently, and the church’s head noticed immediately the problem; she was pregnant of a monster.
First of all, her belly was covered in bruises from the baby, and some cuts; small bruises and stretch marks were normal, but cuts were not normal and the size of her bruises surely weren’t either. She seemed a lot weaker and her pale complexion didn’t help at all. Her bright blue eyes were puffy, her pale lips were a lot paler, her long and beautiful black hair had thinned out and she looked tired. When the town knew what was going on, they didn’t let her in again, and sometimes went out to hunt her down. Luckily, Slend took care of her attackers. But the church managed to send Edith to an asylum when Slend was out hunting. She was pretty skinny by that time, so they could easily say she was an anorexic mad woman. They decided to let her have the kid, to study it.
What they didn’t know was Slend kept an eye on her and visited her every night, taking care of her. The night before the birth, Slend gave Edith some of his blood, saying it would give her energy after birth. The only thing she was surprised of was to give birth to two kids intead of one, but she loved them with all her heart and soul. They were a boy and a girl. Jeff was the oldest one, for twenty minutes. And Jasey was her little daughter.
After their birth, she was overly tired, about to die but when a nurse there took her precious kids away, something clicked inside of her and made her stand up angrily and yanked her kids away from any other contact besides hers. She ran to a window and crashed it, and kept running.
The whole town had come to hunt her down, and ran after her. She used her last strengths to run to the cliff where her and her husband had shared their first kiss, and looked at her beautiful twins.
“A mother’s love never dies, remember that” she whispered and threw herself with her children from the cliff’s edge.
However, her children didn’t fall with her. Jeff and Jasey slipped out of their mother’s embrace and fell different ways. Edith fell and broke all her bones and even drowned, but she didn’t die. When her heart stopped, black moths and butterflies came out of her body and she felt a freezing feeling covering her bones, followed by a burning sensation.
When she woke up, she had Silván next to her, they were in their house and she started to cry, looking for her two babies, but didn’t find them.
“Edith?” Edith looked at her husband, but something changed. She had a more defined eyesight, her hearing became sharper and her nose sensed all kinds of scents. She saw herself in Silván’s eyes.
She had become a walking skeleton, like a walking corpse, her eyes were white and she was wearing a scratched black dress.
“Babe” Slend turned to her, confused.
“I need to find them, or avenge them” with that she sprinted in a sobrenatural speed to the town.
She went straight to the mayor and stabbed him, leaving a note behind her.

You’ll pay for making me leave my children, I swear.
-Mama

She saw a black butterfly fly next to her and she killed it and spilled her black-ish liquid on the paper, with the butterfly stuck on it. She started to prepare herself, her eyes burning.
The second story is about Jeff. Jeff went down the river, where a nice family got him and adopted him. He had an adoptive brother called Liu and his parents were Margaret and Peter, they were from San Diego, California.
He grew up nicely, but always feeling weird around knifes. He never called his adoptive mum and dad ‘Mum’ and ‘Dad’, and used their names, because deep down he knew those people weren’t his biological parents. However, he did say something every night:
“Mama” he whispered to himself.
When Jeff was 13, the family moved to another neighbourhood because Peter had gotten promotion at work. The first day, their neighbour Barbara, invited him and Liu to her son’s, Billy, birthday party, that’s when Jeff started to have a weird feeling, but let it slip.
The next day, Jeff had a feeling again, but let it slip again, although that time it came stronger. When they were waiting for the bus to go to school, a kid with a skateboard appeared with two more guys. Randy, Keith and Troy.
They were the typical assholes who thought they had the world in their hands and when Liu was about to punch them, Randy pulled out a pocket knife on him. Jeff got that weird feeling again, a lot stronger than that morning, and stood up. He punched the kid’s nose and broke his wrist, then Keith went to Jeff, but he grabbed his knife and stabbed him in the arm. When Troy rushed to him, Jeff punched him in the stomach. He felt powerful.
Two days later, Margaret made Jeff and Liu go to Billy’s birthday party. He was having a good time, playing with some kids, when Randy, Keith and Troy showed up and fighted against Jeff.
At some point, Keith and Troy pulled out two guns whilst Randy stabbed Jeff in the shoulder. He fell to his knees and the three boys start to kick him until he vomited blood. That’s when Randy spilled vodka on purpose over Jeff’s face, cheering on him for him to fight back. He feeled the same weird feeling he had a few days ago and stood up again, but this time it made him snap; nothing seemed rational, except his sudden urge to kill. He grabbed Randy by his collar and punched him so hard on his heart, it stopped.
He dropped his body and saw Troy and Keith aiming their guns at him, so he ran upstairs and to the bathroom. They chased after him and raced into the bathroom. After punching Troy and slamming Keith’s head with a towel rack, bleeding to death. He turned to Keith, who was smirking at him.
“What’s so funny?” Jeff growled.
“You’re covered in alcohol” his smirk grew wider.
With that, he lit a lighter and set Jeff on fire.
He passed out from the shock and woke up in hospital with a bandage over his face. Liu came back, after Troy confessed Randy started the first fight.
He realized he looked more like his real parents. His skin was completely pale, a bit purple, but that faded away when his skin made contact with the air again. His eyes were silver, with a spark of blue in them. His lips were a deep shade of red, but went paler again. His black hair was a bit thicker, but that didn’t mind so much.
His adoptive parents were horrified with his looks, but he smiled and said it was perfect for him. He claimed he felt more like himself.
That night, he craved chelsea smile across his cheeks. Margaret caught him and asked what was he doing. He said he was drawing a smile so he could smile forever.
“What’s wrong, Margaret? Arent’ I beautiful?” he shot her a scary smile.
“Y-Yes, son” she backed away, “Let me get your dad, so he can see your beautiful face”
When she got to the room, she shook Peter.
“Honey, get the gun, we…” she paused when he saw Jeff, holding a knife up, in their doorway.
“Margaret, you lied” with that, he rushed to them and stabbed them both.
He went to Liu’s room and whispered.
“Shh, go to sleep” before stabbing him and leaving the house.
The next story, as you may expect, is about Jasey. She, on the other hand, got adopted by a preppy couple from Baltimore, who found her by the river’s edge.
Her new parents were Jeffrey and Annie, and she had a new brother and a sister, Luke and Molly. They lived in a mansion in the outskirts of a Baltimore and they had two maids.
Like her brother, her real brother, Jasey didn’t call her adoptive parents once ‘Mum’ or ‘Dad’, and also whispered to herself “Mama” every night.
She was 5 when she started to realize something.
There were crazy news on the TV of various suicides and various homicides of a new-old serial killer. The police said it was a woman. Nobody saw her, but they say she was filmed by some security cameras, and described her as monster they called Mama. People said she looked for revenge because she lost her children when they were born.
Every week, she committed two sets of homicides and, in a different place each time, and left a note and a person of each house alive, who then committed suicide from the horrible experience. Each note had a dead black butterfly stamped on it and it was signed as ‘Mama’.
Some people say she was a skeleton who appeared in a random house, throught the wall. She created a black hole on a wall and several butterflies came out of it, before she came out and killed all the people in that house except one.
Jasey had a weird feeling when she heard about her. And she somehow felt connected to her.
But that weird ‘feeling’ didn’t become strong until she was 7, in winter.
She was playing with her phone with Molly and Luke, when their personal maid came into their room and left a tray of food, like she did every evening, on the room’s central table, and accidentally dropped Jasey’s knife. It was the first time they let her eat with a sharp knife and, when she heard it drop to the ground, her head shot up immediately. She felt something weird going on inside of her, but let it slip.
After having their dinner, the maid came and collected the tray, but the kinfe wasn’t there. Jasey kept it all night and examined it closely and drew some patterns on her skin. She was drew, subconciously, a messy oval with an X over it, his biological father’s symbol, on her wrist, making her bleed pretty badly. Then she started to draw butterflies up her arm. When Jasey looked up, she saw Molly gasp and run out of the room, she rushed to her quickly and, so she wouldn’t say anything, she cut her neck, just over the artery. She let out a scream, and a shiver went down Jasey’s spine. It was the same weird feeling she got, but much stronger, and spreading across her body. Soon, a maid came to see what was going on and Jasey threw herself on top of her and stabbed her in the heart. She didn’t make a sound.
Then Jasey came back to normal and stared at her bloody hands and dress. Jeffrey and Annie were not at home, they were at Luke’s school meeting, with Luke. She ran to the bathroom and burned her dress whilst she had a hot shower to clean herself, then she cleaned the knife, but kept it, just in case. When she finished, she put on an Asking Alexandria hoodie, her black skinny jeans and locked herself in the bathroom (she was pretty advanced for being a 7 year old).
When Jeffrey, Annie and Luke came home and found Molly’s and the maid’s bodies, they called the police and looked for Jasey. When they found her, she just said she was sorry and it was her fault. They told her it wasn’t, but they didn’t have an idea.
“Mama” she whispered over and over, that night.
Two days later, Luke and her were watching TV when they heard a scream and footsteps down the stairs. They turned to see Jeffrey, who took their hands and dragged them out of the house, panicked and pale. They climbed into the car and he drove off to somewhere unknown, out of Baltimore. They were probably heading Rockville, but who knew?
“Jeffrey, what’s going on?” Jasey asked.
“She’s coming” he whispered.
“Who?” she asked.
“Look, Jasey, we don’t have time” he snapped back, opening the car doors and shutting them once Luke and her were inside. He went to the driver’s seat, turned on the engine and sped up. Luke and Jasey exchanged confused looks for a good hour before Luke decided to talk.
“Dad, where are we going?” Luke asked.
“I… I-I don’t know” he whispered, still in shock.
After a few minutes, Luke asked again.
“You’re going too fast” he mentioned, no answer.
“Dad, you’re-“
“Just shut up, okay?!” he shouted, turning to them.
He lost control of the car and, due to the frozen highway, the car’s wheels made an awful noise before it slipped and fell down a, thankfully, ‘short’ cliff. The steering wheel was out of control and the car stopped when they collided with two trees. Luke hit his head very hard and a shattered glass cut several cuts in his head and neck. They got out and Jeffrey opened Luke’s door.
“Luke, come on” he shook him and looked at him, “Luke?” he turned him around and gasped at the sight of blood running down his face and neck.
“Luke…” he started to shake. Jasey stood behind him.
“Sorry, Jeffrey” she sounded emotionless.
“You know, Jasey? You can call me dad” he sounded annoyed, “Why haven’t you called me ‘Dad’, yet? What’s your problem?”
“You are not my dad” she said simply, no anger, no kind of emotion in those words.
“How do you know?”
Jasey looked away from him, to the trees. There was a black and white, tall… thing that caught her attention.
“I just know” she stated simply.
They walked for a while when they stopped an abandoned cabin, and went straight into it. Jasey and Jeffrey stayed in an empty living room, staring out of the window. Jeffrey was walking around the house aimlessly, with a gun in his hand; he just saw a black mark in his house and witnessed how his wife was killed in front of him by a… monster, a few days after one of his maids and daughter died. And he just killed his son. He was contemplating shooting a bullet through his own head when he walked into the living room again and saw Jasey was staring at something out the window.
There was this extremely thin, grey figure with white eyes staring at her, but Jeffrey didn’t notice this. In Jasey’s eyes, that skeleton was beautiful, even familiar, and she smiled at her. The figure seemed to smile back and Jasey waved at her innocently.
“Jeffrey” he turned to the girl, “There’s woman out there” she pointed out, “but her feet aren’t touching the ground”
“Jasey” she turned to him, his voice shaking and taking no consideration of what the girl just said, “You know… sometimes people make mistakes. Big mistakes. Sometimes people choose to go the wrong way and end up being serial killers, rapers, and horrible things… some people may even kill themselves to repair that… mistake” he cried. Jasey felt a shiver down her spine and, from he corner of her eye, looked through the windows, no woman outside anymore. “But always remember we will always love you” she nodded. “Hey, look, a deer” he said with a sob.
She turned around. She knew there wasn’t a deer, but she wanted to see what he did. She heard a heavy object move, and a click behind her.
Gun.
Gun, gun, gun, gun.
She turned around and pulled out her knife, and stabbed Jeffrey right in his left hand, then his upper arm, and then chest and neck.
When he fell to the ground, dead, she could see there was that woman she had seen outside in the doorway. She was staring at her mouth-opened.
They stayed in silence for a while.
The little girl tilted her head and examined the creature in front of her carefully before dropping the knife, tears welling up in her eyes, a distant memory of her mother coming back.
“Mama?” Jasey let out with a whisper.
The woman’s appearance changed. A pale skin covered her bones, muscles appearing under her skin, marking her curves, and her hair became thicker and more alive. In her eyes, her blue irises and black pupils appeared, and her lips gained colour. She rushed to her with tears in her eyes.
“Oh, Jasey! Baby!” she cried and hugged her. Jasey hugged back, feeling her soft and familiar touch, “I’ve been looking for you”
“A mother’s love never dies, remember?” she smiled, remembering that small memory she had of her mother.
“Yes, I do” she cried harder, “Where’s Jeff?” she looked around.
“Who?”
“Your brother” she answered, Jasey looked utterly confused, “Never mind, we’ll look for him. Come on, daddy’ll be delighted to see you” she cheered.
And finally, the story about how they got together again.
That was after nine years Jasey went back with her family whilst Jeff became a famous serial killer.
They both had 16 human years old. Jasey had been receiving basic training from Damon, a demon who helped her father to do the ‘dirty work’ for him. She also met her father’s parents. Her grandfather was the one and only Lucifer, and her grandmother was the first witch, Katherine. Her mother had been stopping to look for Jeff, since Katherine said that Jasey’s twin instincts would lead her to him.
Also, after two years of hard training, Jasey could run as fast as any newborn vampire, although she wasn’t very strong, and she had learned how to go in and out of her ‘psycho' mode and discovered that whilst she was in psycho mode, her eyes went completely black and her skin went a few shades paler than it was.
Being in a 'psycho' mode meant basically being in a mental state of pure desire to kill. It was controllable, but it required mental training. In their psycho mode, Jeff and Jasey's eyes would turn pitch black, their skin white, and their eyesight would become more defined than it was before. They could hardly control their actions, unless they trained hard for it.

It was winter again and Jeff was heading Rockville’s town hall, he went there following his instincts, and went straight to a house in a suburb. He entered the house, opening a half-opened window. He slipped inside and found himself in a teenager’s bedroom.
It had posters of rock bands on the white walls. Jeff stared at them for a moment and thought the kid had good music taste. Yes, he had stolen some music from his victims and found plenty of time to listen to all the albums. He decided not to attack this time.
After a few moments, the sleeping boy started to move and turned to Jeff. The boy froze and blood drained from his face. Jeff put a finger on his lips.
“Go to sleep”
That’s when the boy screamed and Jeff regretted not killing him when he was silent.
He threw himself on top of him and pulled out his knife. The boy’s father entered the bedroom and Jeff turned to him and aimed to his shoulder with the knife. He jumped off the boy and out of the window into the woods as fast as he could.
He ran past a piece of paper stuck on a tree and grabbed it. He saw a rough drawing of a cedar next to a faceless stick-figure. Beside it, it read ‘Follows’. Jeff rolled his eyes, thinking it was some stupid joke of some summer camp or something, when he stopped and heard someone step on a stick. He quickly turned and found a tall girl, a bit shorter than him, with pale skin and black eyes, in front of him. She was holding a bloody knife.
He was going to stab her when he saw a blue and silver spark from her eyes. He didn’t feel the urge to kill running through his veins and saw the girl had let go her knife. He could see her whole face properly due to her long, black hair.
She blinked, holding her eyes shut for a few seconds. When she opened her eyes, she had bright blue eyes with a spark of silver in them. She looked… familiar.
“Who are you?” they said at the same time.
“Jasey” she said coldly.
“Jeff” answered in the same tone.
They examined each other carefully, when Jeff tilted his head and remembered a distant memory: He was in someone’s arms with a small body next to him. The baby girl’s eyes and this chick’s eyes were the same. He dropped his knife.
“Jasey?” he asked again.
“Yeah” she narrowed her eyes at him.
“Oh, shit” he whispered.
Jasey felt a strange feeling in her gut and gasped silently. He didn’t see her moving until he felt the girl hugging him and burying her head in the crook of his neck. He hugged back, feeling an unfamiliar feeling in his body. Was it… Love?
“Missed you, brother” she cried.
“I missed you too, little sister” he dared to smile.
They went deeper into the forest and looked for their father. When they found him, they went to a cabin, deep in the forest. Their family didn’t have a fixed home for obvious reasons, except a house they had in Layers, an island very near to Maryland. There was a large village in it, which had a high and thick wall around it.
That village was founded by Jeff and Jasey’s grandparents. They created the village in order to ‘protect’ some creatures. Humans couldn’t enter the village, not even physically. In the village, all kinds of supernatural creatures lived there in peace; mermaids lived in a big and deep lake or in little houses beside the lake, centaurs in the fields or in the little ‘farms’ around them, vampires in normal houses and they were supplied with blood bags, werewolves lived in another neighborhood, very near vampires, and were supplied all kinds of food. And like that with all kinds of supernatural creatures.
They were in the living room, talking about irrelevant stuff, when mother joined them short afterwards. After two weeks of exchanging stories and clicking, their parents told them they were going to be trained as 'proxies', which were the ones who killed people with Slenderman. Their parents left, but had Damon, their father’s right hand, to look after them.
Damon was quite a nice guy. He was a normal demon. The difference between a demon and Jeff or Jasey’s race, or whatever they were, was that demons; instead of having their eyes turned black in their ‘psycho mode’, their eyes turned red; they were slower when they ran and they had more control of themselves when they were in their psycho mode. Well, they didn’t have more control, but they were able to manage it better. Reason for this? Jeff and Jasey had a stronger killer instinct, they were almost killing machines when they were triggered, so it required more mental strength to control it.
Since that day, Jeff was given intense training to gain control or himself. He accomplished doing what his sister managed to do in two years, in two months, due to massive and restless training. And then they were allowed to continue to train together at a normal pace. They were taught how to run like newborn vampires, how do work in a team when killing, techniques, etc. And they were soon asked to come with their father.
And now, you may be wondering how the hell do I know all of this. And, well, that’s an easy question, because I’m Jasey.
And this is my story.
