I'm Not A Savior

XIII

The boys all gathered at an old abandoned house. It was far outside of town, so no one would hear what was going to happen to them all. Tess and Matt were already there getting ready. They even brought Tay back into town for the event.

“Tay,” I shouted as I came into the house with Alex. I ran to her and hugged her tightly.

“Kenzie,” she shouted back as she took me into her arms, “I’ve missed you.”

“So have I,” I replied, “I’m glad you came.”

“Well I’m here to keep the vampires under control,” she replied, “You’ll have to handle Alex, though.”

I looked over at Alex. I knew he would have terrible nightmares tonight. And I was scared for him. I had a feeling that Alex would have his nightmares centered on me. No wonder Tay was having me handle Alex instead of her stretching her music across everyone, including him.
---
As night fell, everyone gathered in the living room. All the faces in the room were sullen. They all knew what was going to happen tonight. We all knew that this was what was needed to take on Carmina and any vampires she had under her sway.

“Alright every vampire needs to get ready,” Tay ordered from the center of the circle, “Bite a wrist and pass it to the vampire next to you.”

Alex bit his wrist and passed it to Rian. Jack bit his wrist and handed it to Alex. Everyone took the other’s wrist and drank the blood, choking it down to absorb the power within it at its high price.

“Ugh,” Alex groaned once he had enough, “That was the worst thing I have ever had in my life.”

“It should be worth it though,” Tess commented, “You can use the power that blood will grant us to end that bitch.”

I was in an old abandoned cellar, one that might had been used for the Underground Railroad. I walked into the center of the cellar, I saw the fire and a table covered in torture tools. I looked to my right to find Kenzie dangling from the ceiling by her wrists. Her clothes were in tatters and she had dried blood and dirt all over her.

“P-please,” I heard her beg as I grabbed a scapulae from the table, “D-don’t hurt me, A-Alex.”

“Sorry sweetie,” I said maliciously, “But that won’t help you.”

“A-Alex,” she continued to beg.

“I will make you feel so much pain,” I taunted, “It will make you hurt physically and emotionally. I will make you wish for death. And I will deny you that release every time. I will bleed you to the brink of death, and then I’ll just heal you and start all over again.”

I woke up with a start. I was covered in sweat and my breathing was all over the place. Kenzie was on my lap, holding onto my shoulders. I took her hands into mine and searched for the scars. I lift her shirt and checked all over her.

“It’s okay,” she cooed as she took her hands back and stroked my cheek, “You’re safe.”

“I’m not worried about that,” I mumbled.

“What was it about,” she asked, “What did you dream about?”

“I’ll tell you later,” I sighed heavily, “I’m too tired.”
---
“Ugh,” I groaned as I got another headache. Jack’s blood memories didn’t play out for me in my sleep and just gave me constant migraines. It felt like Tay was giving me aneurisms over and over again.

“Is it my blood memories,” Jack asked groggily as he join me for coffee.

“You are all sorts of fucked up,” I groaned before taking a sip from my coffee.

“You have no room to talk,” Rian butted in, “Alex you have some twisted memories. And don’t get me started on the times I had to feel you undressing Kenzie with your eyes when you first met her.”

“Alex,” Kenzie squeaked as she slapped my shoulder, “I can’t believe that got slipped into the blood.”

For the rest of the day, along with the rest of the week, we all suffered through the nightmares and blood memories. When the powers finally came in, the bad parts of the blood faded away. I was excited to feel strong again. I won’t lie, I missed the feeling of being on human blood. The high I got from the strength it gave me, was the best part. But I gave up something I enjoyed because of its high price.

“We need a plan,” I told the guys, “There’s no doubt in my mind Carmina has a witch with her. She’ll even have her current and of lackies with her. We need a solid game plan to take her on.”

“I can paralyze a few of her bitches,” Tay volunteered, “I can even up the numbers for us. Maybe when her witch sees me, she’ll realize she’s going against nature with helping Carmina and change sides.”

“We’ll need someone to protect Kenzie,” I added, “She cannot be harmed. She’s my only reason to leave my emotions on.”

"Looks like you need a special guard dog," we all turned around to find Vic in the doorway.

"I was hoping to keep the wolves out of an vampire issue," I told him, "But I'm not one to stare a gift horse in the mouth."

"I can vouch for Vic," Tay added, "He'll help us and keep Kenzie safe."

"So can I," I agreed, "Vic and I have been friends for years. He'll keep her safe."

"And I can include the pack on this," Vic added his input on the plan, "In case there's more vamps than Tay can handle. And we owe Carmina anyway."

“Then it’s settled then,” I looked to everyone, “We'll begin the fighting tomorrow night. I’ll lure her to the clearing we had the ritual at. It’ll be far enough from town to avoid suspicion and to keep innocents out of the crossfire.”

Notes

I had to edit the chapter a little. Now it's way better and makes more sense.
