Carly’s Perspective

I got back to my apartment and got myself a bowl of cereal, sitting cross-legged on my couch with the bowl in my lap. I turned on my TV and began flipping channels, settling on MTV, who were showing a Blink-182 video.

The text tone on my phone went off and I checked to see who it was. It was a number not programmed into my phone. I opened iMessage and read the text:

‘Hey, Carly right? It’s Alex, the guy from Starbucks :)’

‘Hey Alex. I remember you!’ I replied.

‘Great! How are you?’ he asked.

‘I’m good. And you?’ I asked back.

‘Much better, now that I’m talking to you ;)’

I rolled my eyes, waiting a minute before I responded. Meanwhile, the music video on TV ended and a new one came on.

“Next up: Weightless by All Time Low,” the feminine announcer said.

The first shot was of a group of girls surrounding a young man. The girls babbled on and the camera closed in on the man’s face. Alex?

I had to get to the bottom of this.

‘Hey, can I ask you something?’ I texted him.

‘Sure :)’ he replied.

‘Are you in a band or something? I swear I just saw you on TV.’ I texted back.

It took a few minutes for him to respond back, but finally, he said:

‘Yes I am. This doesn’t make you hate me or like me more, does it?’ he asked.

‘Nope. I was just curious :P’

‘Okay, good!’

God. Despite my reservations, he was pretty damn cute.

‘Can I ask you something else?’ I texted him.

‘Of course!’ he replied.

‘Would you like to go out on a date with me?’ I asked.

He took a few minutes to reply and I started to worry that I’d scared him off, and then I tried to pretend that I didn’t care.

‘Yeah, I’d like that. Pick you up at 7?’ he asked.

‘Sounds good. What should I wear?’ I asked back.

‘Something comfy and casual :)’

‘Awesome, here’s my address.’ I texted him the address.

‘Great, thanks. See ya at 7, beautiful <3’ I blushed when I saw the ‘beautiful’ part.

For that night, I decided on a pair of baggy PINK sweatpants, a large band t-shirt, and a worn sweatshirt from the college that I had attended until this past semester, when I’d graduated a semester early. I put on my chocolate brown UGG boots and waited for Alex to pick me up.

At exactly seven, Alex buzzed in and I let him up. I saw he was dressed in the same clothes from earlier, clearly prepared for the cold. I greeted him with a friendly hug, and I noticed he smelled amazing.

“Ready to go?” he asked.

“Yup!” I nodded. He took my hand we walked to the elevator, since I was on the 12th floor of my apartment complex.

As soon as the door closed, something gripped. I had to kiss Alex.

Acting quickly, I pinned him against the wall of the elevator. I saw his brown eyes swimming with confusion as his huge eyebrows scrunched up. I kissed him hard on the lips, throwing my arms around his neck while standing on my toes. He leaned over to make it easier and I was bent backwards a little. He supported the back of my head with one hand and the small of my back with the other as he kissed me back just as passionately.

I ran my fingers through his soft brown hair as his tongue begged for entry into my mouth. I parted my lips slightly and let him in as my body melted against his. It was a good thing he was supporting me because I thought my knees were going to buckle and bring me to the ground.

We heard the bell ring, signaling that we were at the lobby and we broke apart reluctantly. Alex took my hand in his again and led me out to his silver Audi and opened the passenger door for me. He jogged around to the other side and got in, starting the engine and speeding off.

I seriously wasn't planning on updating this ever again. As soon as I posted the chapter, I lost inspiration for this, until one lovely person commented on this. I have five more chapters so I will try to crank out some more in the meantime, so if updates stop suddenly, you'll know why :/
