"I don't do band members!"

We sit outside Alex's room as the doctor approaches us. "Okay, you can now see Mr. Gaskarth. He was pretty lucky, he has only got a slight concussion and a wound on the back of his head where he hit the barricades, which we fixed with a couple of stitches. We will keep him here for the night to check that everything is okay and to sober him up, then you can take him home tomorrow morning.
The guys all get up and enter the room when Jack looks back at me. "Gi, you coming?"

I shake my head. "No, I don't want to upset him any further. I wait here until you are back."

After a few minutes the guys come out and Jack walks up to me, pulls me up to shove me in the direction of the door. "He wants to talk to you."

I take a deep breath and walk in. Alex lies in the hospital bed and looks up at me with an expression that I cannot decipher.

I sit down in the chair beside his bed. "Hi" I mumble looking down at my lap.

"Hi, Gi, I'm sorry." He says and holds out his hand for me.

"No, I'm sorry. I never wanted you to get hurt. I don't know how we got this way. I don't want to fight with you." I take his hand and hold it.

"The guys told me you were fabulous and had the whole rescue thing under control, so I guess I have to thank you for saving me." He manages a smile.

"Better thank your guardian angel, the doctor said you were lucky, it could have been way worse." I have to wipe my eyes.

"You are my angel" he whispers as he stares into my face.

It's just too much for me so I get up. "I will let you sleep now, Alex. See you in the morning."

I bend down and want to kiss his cheek but he turns his head so that my lips land on his. I don't pull away though.

We kiss and he holds my face with both his hands. His kiss is needy and I can feel his longing. We brake the kiss and he smiles happily and rests his head back on the pillow.

I stroke his head softly as he closes his eyes and leave.
