Chapter 9
"Boys! Dinner!" Isobel called from the kitchen.
"Coming Mom!" Alex yelled back, popping his tea on the desk and pulling Jack down the stairs. They promptly arrived in the kitchen where Alex's parents were both sitting.
"Oh, hey Dad! I didn't hear you come in." Alex exclaimed, sitting at the table. Jack sat down next to him
"I've only just got in, son," He rolled his eyes, "And, er, who might this be?"
"This is Jack, Dad. He's my boyfriend."
"You're gay?!" His dad nearly screamed at him.
"Er, yeah. Me and Jack are a couple." Alex grinned and leaned his head on Jack's shoulder. Jack blushed a little and looked at the table.
"Oh, thank god! I didn't want to have that conversation with you! Oh, I'm happy for you boys!" He turned and looked at Jack, "Get out."
"What?!" Both boys yelled in unison.
"You heard me! Get out of my house, Jack! I will not have you in this house telling my son about his sexuality! He is clearly a normal, straight guy and you're changing him! Do not come on my property even again!" And with that, Alex's father stormed out of the room. Jack's mouth hung open and Alex was on the verge of tears.
"I can only apologise for Peter's behaviour. He's not normally homophobic. I, I'm sorry..." Isobel said. And she hurried away. Silence fell over the kitchen. The plates of food hadn't even been touched. Suddenly, Jack burst into tears and collapsed onto Alex's shoulder.
"Hey, baby. It's fine, I promise." Alex whispered as he pulled him into a hug.
"I don't want you to leave me Alex. I, I wouldn't be able to deal with it..."
"I am not, I repeat, I am not leaving you, Jacky! I don't care what my dad thinks. We're together and there's fuck all he can do about it!" Alex crumbled, crossing his arms across his chest.
"But, but what if he, if he won't let us see each other?"
"Then I'll sneak out. I refused not see you." Alex persisted. His mother scurried back into the room. Her face wasn't as upset as it had been when she'd left.
"Well, he's not as against it as he was before but it's just a bit of a shock to him. I mean, he has no idea you were even gay, Alex. It's a bit of a blow on him." She smiled sympathetically.
"Thanks, Mom." He replied.
"Look, I'm on your side, okay boys? If you want to be together, then be together. Don't let someone else's opinion get in the way." She smiled. The pair returned it. "Now, eat up before your bangers and mash gets cold!"

"Well, my dad is still really against it.." Alex said down the phone to his boyfriend, three hours later.
"You've got to give him time, Lex. He'll come around." Jack replied confidently.
"I dunno, Jacky. He seems really disappointed in me, like I've let him down..."
"Don't you dare think that, Alexander! You've put up with more shit than your dad realises! If anyone should be disappointed, it should be your in him."
"Jacky..."
"It's true, Lex."
"Mom says that if Dad's really against it, she'll pay for me to rent a flat for a year so I can move out. Hopefully, I'll have a job and will be able to pay my own rent once the year is up. She said she'd pay for all the furniture as well so I can make it look however I want it to!" Alex said, changing the conversation.
"That's really cool, Alex! We'll be able to have sleep-overs!" Jack squealed.
"But I'm gonna get all lonely in a flat on my own.."
"Awww! You know I'll practically be living there with you. I'll be round all the time."
"That's the thing, Jack. I don't want you to practically live with me. I want you to actually live with me. Like properly." Alex heard Jack gasp on the other end of the phone.
"Really, Lexy?!"
"Really, Jacky." Alex knew that Jack was grinning.
"I would so give you a hug right now!"
"As would I."
"Hey, Alex, I..."
"Yeah, babe?" The line went silence for a second.
"I love you..."Jack's voice caught Him off guard. Alex blushed. He processed what Jack had just said. He blushed some more. This was what he'd been waiting for.
"I love you too, Jack."

*3 weeks later*
Alex stood outside the apartment building with a removal van and Jack behind him. He took a deep breath. He felt Jack's chin on his shoulder.
"You ready for this, Lex?" Jack whispered, his breath fanning out over Alex's neck. Alex sighed.
"Yeah, I'm ready for this, Jack."
"Alright!" Jack yelled, dragging out the 'igt' and spinning to the removal van.

*5 hours later*
Alex stood in his new living space (aka, lounge, kitchen and dining room combined roomy thing) and grinned. Jack came up behind him and wrapped his arms around Alex's waist.
"Did I do a good job?" He whispered, referring to the arrangements of the room.
"You did perfect, babe."
"Good. Can I see our room?" Jack asked. Alex grabbed his hand and pulled him through one of two doors. Inside was a king size bed and the most perfect decor ever, in the whole entire world. Jack's mouth decided to catch flies.
"Wow, Lex! This is why I love you!"
"Awww! I love you too, babe! Is it too much? The decor, I mean?"
"It's perfect, Alex!"
"I didn't want to go too OTT but I didn't know if this is room simple or-" Alex was cut off by Jack's lips attaching themselves to his. He smirked as his felt Jack's boner poke his thigh through his jeans. Trust Jack to he horny!
"What do say we try out the new bed?" Jack smirked, his eyes filled with list and hunger.
"I think that's a great idea!" Alex replied, laying down on the bed, "I am rather tired!" Jack groaned.
"Really? You know what I meant!" He whined, putting emphasis on 'know'.
"That I do, but I want our first time to be romantic not because you're just horny and want some relief, " Alex joked but stopped when he saw Jack's face, "Hey! It's not that I don't want to, because I do. I'm just really tired. Can't we just sleep and get used to lived together first?"
"Ok.." Jack smirked and climbed on to the bed next to Alex, " We should really change before we sleep."
" Good call!" Alex said and they both quickly stripped to their boxers before climbing back into bed and falling asleep in each other's arms.
