Ok, maybe Jack had been a bit harsh on the new kid. And maybe stealing his book and bag was a bit pathetic but Alex stole his seat! Jack knew that wasn't really the best excuse because how was Alex to know it was his seat? He had bunked off over Alex's first week so it's not really his fault to be honest. Jack was just kinda angry at him, in a strange, I-don't-know-you-but-I-hate-you kinda way. All the girls have been talking about is this shy new boy with the cute hair and the music skills of a God. And yeah, Jack was jealous of him. All the girls liked him when it should be Jack. Being the top dog of the school, hearing other people talk about other people isn't nice. Alex was cool. He liked cool music. He worn cool clothes. He had cool hair. And all the cool girls like him. Ok, so yeah. Alex was hot. But, damn, this was Jack's territory. He controlled this school.

The first time he'd seen him, Jack knew he'd date Alex at some point. But no one could know that. Jack wouldn't allow that to happen. His dark brown hair, styled in a short, choppy kind of organised mess with a slanted side fringe,would suggest otherwise. Jack kind of liked the whole mystery-guy thing he had going on. Jack was intrigued by Alex. And he had cute eyes. Not that Jack had looked or anything... His eyes were dark and had a short of glint in them that only could be picked up if you looked at them from a certain angle in the right way. And Jack was pretty sure he'd looked at them the right way.

Jack was the sort of guy that liked to please people, to be who they wanted him to be. And everyone wanted Jack to be popular, straight and a good leader. One slight problem. Jack hated being popular, he was gay and he was a terrible leader. So maybe that's three problems, but, to be honest, Jack didn't care. He'd do anything to avoid the bruises and scars. It's not like he has enough of them already...

Alex sat on his bed, guitar in hand, paper and pen in front of him. He would use his book but Baratwerp still had it. He frowned at that before testing out some chords patterns. He always wrote his best songs when he was pissed off. And, boy, was he pissed off. His fingers plucked and pulled at different strings and his left hand flew over the frets with such accuracy that you could tell that he was a pro. Alex stopped every so often to scribble down the chords and various one-line lyrics that could possibly fit the tune. They suddenly Alex stopped playing his instrument. He looked down at the piece of paper in front of him. He wanted his book and he wanted it now.

Jack lay on his back in his room, looking up at the ceiling. He was starting feel bad for bullying Alex just because he didn't know that the seat he'd chosen was Jack's. He sighed softly to himself and gave in. First thing tomorrow Jack would apologise to Alex for being an absolute arsehole and a jerk. And give him his stuff back. Speaking of Alex's stuff, Jack hadn't had a chance to start rummaging around for gossip. Just as Jack reached Alex's bag, he stopped. If he's going to apologise, then why is he going to go through Alex's personal belongings? Now Jack felt really bad. He lay back on his bed and stared upwards again. He kinda liked Alex. He was hot. But only out of school. If anyone found out that Jack was gay, he'd lose his credibility and people wouldn't be happy and Jack had to make people happy, whether it was 1 or 268 people. Jack made a pact right then: if he was going to make everyone in school happy, then that would include Alex. Whether either of them liked it or not.

What's this? Two chapters in one day? What is happening?
This chapter is kinda just a filler chapter to learn a little bit more about Jack really because he's a jerk in the first chapter. Next chapter it gets better, promise!
