~Jack's POV~

We both sat in my car, and I started up the engine. Alex didn't know where I was taking him, which had given me a chance to drive. He rarely let me drive places, no one really trusted me.

Soon enough, we reached our destination, the big oak tree. We came here all the time, but it was our special place. We had shared so many perfect moments here and I want to make another perfect memory tonight.

"The park?" Alex asked, looking slightly disappointed.

"Yeah, don't be so ungrateful, it's part of your present." I winked at him stepping out of the car. "We're going to watch the sun set." I smiled. This was one of my favourite things to do, and I knew Alex loved it as well. I took his hand and we strolled through the park to pass some time, seen as the sun was still quite high up in the sky. "How's your birthday been so far?" I looked down to Alex, who was resting his head on my shoulder as we walked.

"It's been great. Definitely the best birthday sex I've had so far." I could feel his cheek tensing to form a smile against my shoulder.

"It will be even better next year." I promised him, burying my face in his hair.

"It's going to be hard to top that, but I think you'll manage." He moved his face from my shoulder and smiled up at me, his beautiful chocolate coloured eyes gazing into mine.

We had been in the park for about two hours, and the sun had nearly set. Lex and I were sitting on our usual branch, holding hands and cuddling. The December air was starting to get colder, so we would be heading back home soon.

"It's so beautiful." Alex whispered, mesmerised by the amazing view.

"Not as beautiful as you." I whispered back, leaning in for a gentle kiss.

Once we broke away from each other, I instantly missed his touch. "That's so cheesy." He laughed at me.

"It's true though." I laughed with him, leaning ever so slightly to see if Alex's main birthday present was still lodged in my pocket. "Come on, it's getting cold." I said, hopping down from the tree. Alex followed, and it had became our usual thing now for me to pick him off of the last branch and spin him around. I was able to keep my balance this time so we didn't end up on the floor, like we normally did.

I placed him down and just as he was about to walk away, I grabbed both of his hands, so that he was facing me.

"Alex?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you remember the promise bracelet I got you 5 years ago today?" I asked, my voice was slightly shaky.

"Of course, I've never taken it off." He smiled, looking down at his wrist and then connecting his eyes back with mine. "Why?"

"I want to make you another promise." I let go of his hand and reached into my back pocket, pulling out a little box. Once I had it in my hand, I knelt down onto one knee, and Alex's face lit up. I could see tears brimming in the corners of his eyes, and i started to cry. Happy tears, I think. "I promise to love you until the day we die, hell, even longer than that. Since that day in school, when I first laid eyes on you, I wanted to be with you. You've changed my life, I don't know where I would be without you. I love you with all my heart and you are just perfect in every way possible. Would you do me the extraordinary honour of marrying me?" My voice came out quieter than intended, probably due to the tears that were cascading down my cheeks. I opened the little box to reveal a silver band. It was simple, but classy, and I thought it would suit Alex perfectly.

Alex now had tears flooding down his face too, and he was smiling the biggest smile. "Yes! Yes, of course I would. I love you." He started to jump up and down slightly, and I stood up and took hold of Alex's hand once more, sliding the ring onto his finger. It fit perfectly, and I couldn't contain my joy.

"Come here then, fiancé." I giggled, leaning forward to connect our lips. Our mouths moved in sync, and the kiss was filled with so much passion and love, I never wanted it to end.

Eventually, we both pulled away, slightly out of breath, but huge smiles still etched on our faces. We leaned our foreheads together, our noses touching slightly. I could feel his warm breath on my face, and I stared into his eyes, Alex staring right back at me.

"I love you, Alexander Gaskarth."

"And I love you, Jack Barakat."

Sorry it was quite short, but it's over! I don't know whether to be sad that I've finished, or happy that I've wrote quite a decent story. I feel like I've grown attatched to the characters and it's going to be upsetting letting them go but I've been thinking that there may be a sequel?? I was thinking about it before and my idea for my new fic would also work as a sequel so it might happen. I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks on Wednesday so I'll try and think of a plot whilst I'm away but I don't know how long it will take me to think of one worth writing about.

im so happy with how this fic has turned out, considering it's my first one, and I'm so grateful for all the comments, views, votes and subscriptions. Everytime I have seen a comment it's just made my day and I have really loved writing. I love you all and I can't thank you enough for taking the time to read this.
