~Jack's POV~

"No way! Sister Jude is the queen of sass, you can't deny it! Jessica Lange is just amazing!" Alex and I had been arguing over what nun was the sassiest in American Horror Story. We'd basically spent the whole day watching it and we were up to episode 9.

"Fine, fine, you win. Can we snuggle again now?" I had been pushed away from my boyfriends embrace whilst we had our debate, but all I wanted was to be in his arms.

"Okay. I love you." Alex scooted over to me and caved into my sides, wrapping his arms tightly around me.

"I love you, too." My words were muffled because I had my lips against his hair.

We sat in a comfortable silence for a good while. Our scones had been baked, and the only evidence that they were ever here were the crumbs scattered all over the thick blanket that we were under. We were in our pillow fort, leaning our backs against the couch whilst our legs were tangled together. I think it was the best fort I've ever made, and I had made some great forts in my time. I couldn't see the fire, but I could here it crackling, and even the sound made me feel toasty. It was super cold out, and I think it's going to snow either tonight or tomorrow night. I hope it does, I love the snow. It reminds me of 'Home Alone'.

"Jay?" Alex's voice sounded slightly hoarse.

"Yes, dear?"

"Will you be the best boyfriend ever and make me a lemsip? My throat is killing me." He moved his hand to his neck and massaged it as he spoke.

"Of course I will." I kissed his head and made my way to the kitchen. Once I had finished making Alex his warm medicine, I carried it back to the living room and warmed myself under the covers again. "Aw, my little Lex isn't very well." I rubbed his arm, giving it a light squeeze. "You know what this means?"

"What?" He moved his head so he could look at me.

"No kisses for you. Well, not on the lips, anyway."

"Oh, that's a bummer." Alex frowned. "Why?"

"Because you're probably contagious. Ew." I joked as I shuffled away from him.

He crossed his arms and turned away from me, and then I slowly moved back to my spot and snaked my arms around his waist. "Nah, I'm joking. But you're lucky you have me, Gaskarth. I'm going to look after you. I'll even wait on you hand and foot." Did I just say that? Wow, I must really love him if I'm offering to be his slave.

"Good. Now go and make me a sandwich." Alex ordered.

"No. I'm tired now. I'll start tomorrow." I closed my eyes and rested on Lex.

"Okay, but a promise is a promise."




I woke up, still snuggled with Alex on the floor. I don't even know how I managed to have a good sleep, the floor was the most uncomfortable thing. It still seemed dark outside, and I got up to go and pee, making sure I didn't wake my sleeping beauty.

Once I'd finished doing my business, I wandered into the kitchen to get a glass of water. The back of Alex's house was all practically a big glass window, and I hated only being able to see darkness, like people could see me, but I couldn't see them. I turned on the big light that lit up the back garden, and my eyes grew wide with excitement and I now felt fully awake. I sprinted into the living room screaming Alex's name. "ALEX! ALEX! ITS FUCKING SNOWING WAKE THE FUCK UP!" I jumped on top of the pillow fort, making it collapse as I squashed Alex.

"Jack what the fuck? What is it? I was comfy!" Alex sounded even worse, he could barely speak. But he had to get up, it was snowing!

"ITS SNOWING GET UP WE NEED TO GO AND EXPLORE!" I pulled at his hand and he followed me upstairs so we could get dressed. I turned on my phone to check the time: 4am. Oh well, we were still going out. "Are you okay to come outside?" Your voice sounds pretty bad."

"Yeah, I'm good." Alex croaked.

"Good." I smiled and pulled him in for a quick hug. "Can we go and explore? I want to go to the woods." We headed downstairs as I sorted out a backpack.

"Yeah, sure. Can I take a flask of lemsip? It feels good on my throat."

"Yup." I popped the p. "I'll bring blankets and food. We're not going to school today."
