~Jack's POV~

Everyone, apart from Alex, of course, was at Zack's house, setting it up for tomorrow. It was the 13th December today, and Lex would be turning 18 in less than 12 hours. Zack's parents were away for the weekend, so we decided to throw the party at his house. Loads of people were invited, most people that we knew from out of school. Only a few people from Dulaney were coming, seen as all the others were homophobic assholes. It was also Vic's little brother, Mike's birthday, so lots of his friends were attending the party, too. Although it was his birthday as well, the night was going to be mostly focused on Lex, but Mike didn't mind, he didn't want to make a fuss anyway and was mainly going to be there for the free booze.

"How does this look?" I asked. Me and Jaime were standing on chairs trying to hang a 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' banner on the wall, whilst Rian stood at the other end of the room, making sure we hung it straight.

"Jaime, move your side a little more to the left." Rian gestured with his hands, and Jaime did as he was told. "Perfect."

I got down from the chair (which I was surprised I didn't fall off) and went to the kitchen to help Zack with all the drinks.

"Woah, Zack, how did you get all this?!" There were beer cans and bottles everywhere, along with a shitload of vodka and whiskey.

"I know a guy who knows a guy, let's just say that." He winked at me, and we both laughed. "Are you excited for tomorrow?" He cracked open a can and took a sip.

"Yeah, I'm just super nervous though. What if he doesn't say it back?" Zack knew what I was talking about, I basically wouldn't shut my mouth about wanting to tell Alex I love him.

"He will, buddy. He's got that look in his eye, you know? That sparkle, when ever he looks at you. He always looks happier when you come into sight, and he always stares at you when you're not looking, with that look on his face, like he'd do anything for you. You know, like dodging bullets for you and all that shit. I know he'll say it back."

I didn't know how to reply to his words. My stomach was filled with butterflies and a humongous smile spread on my face, but I couldn't form a sentence to respond.

"So, what have you got him?" He asked.

"Just some bits and bobs. Some jeans, some merch, a new pair of Vans and a promise bracelet."

"A promise bracelet?" Zack looked at me, a confused look on his face.

"Yeah, you know, like a promise ring. But I didn't want to be all cliche so I gotten him a bracelet instead. I brought a charm for it too, and I've engraved words onto the back of it." I explained. I couldn't wait to give it to Alex tomorrow.

"What does it say?"

"That is for me to know, and for you to find out." I tapped my nose, smirking at him. "Shall we go and get the others? I think we're done setting up, so we can all just have a drink and relax."

"Yeah, sure." Zack replied, grabbing 2 6-packs and heading for the living room.

"Thanks again, Zack. You're a good buddy." I patted his shoulder, smiling.

"No problem. It's pure luck that my parents are away this weekend, man. My parties are the shit." He laughed.

"I'm expecting great things." I took a can from Zack and gathered everyone into the living area. We had moved most of the furniture into the garden, to avoid breakages, so we all just sat on the floor, in a circle. There was me, Zack, Jaime, Jess, Cass, Rian, Oli, Hannah, Alan and Vic. We were only missing one perfect person, my beautiful boyfriend, and then we would be complete.



I got to Alex's house at 5, and he opened the door immediately. "Where have you been? I've been waiting for you!" He engulfed me into a hug.

"Sorry, babe. My mom wanted me to catch up on all my chores and homework before I left." I lied to him. He knew that I had something planned for his birthday, but he didn't know what it was, and he wasn't going to find out until tomorrow night.

"It's okay, come on, let's go and snuggle." he made his way over to the couch, and I couldn't help but smile at how adorable he looked. His hair was messy, and he was wearing an oversized jumper and skinny jeans. His sleeves were too long, and they flopped limply at his side. The jumper went down to his mid-thigh, which was super cute, but I couldn't look at his ass because it was covered up.

We sat down, snuggled into eachother, and Alex spoke up. "So I've basically just spent the whole day browsing Netflix, and I've found this amazing show, we have to watch it. I'm obsessed. I watched most of the first season already, and I think you'll love it too."

"What's it called?" I asked excitedly. If Alex loved it, then I was bound to as well.

"American Horror Story. It's really good. Do you want to watch it?" He looked at me enthusiastically.

"Sure." I smiled. I had heard people talking about this show before, and all of their talk was good. "I'll go and get the popcorn and you can set it up."

Once the popcorn was ready, I sat back down with Alex as we cuddled in our usual position.



Episode 6 had just finished, and me and Alex were both wrapped in each others arms, sobbing pathetically. Alex was right, the show was obsessive. And sad.

"Can we go to bed before this show takes over my life completely?" I let out a small laugh.

"We can do whatever you want, but I'm pretty sure it's already taken mine." Alex wiped his eyes and we both stood up. "Can we watch some more tomorrow? I want to be at least halfway through series 2 before Monday."

"Of course. It's your day tomorrow, so you get to choose what we do. But we need to be somewhere by 6, okay?" The corners of my lips turned upwards into a small smile.

"Okay, let's go up, I want to kiss you a considerable amount before I turn 18." Alex pulled at me arm, and we headed for the stairs.
