~Jack's POV~

School had finished 2 hours ago, and me, Rian and Cass were still looking for Alex. After lunch, I was meant to be having the last 3 lessons with him, but he never showed up. I was really worried about him, I didn't mean to hurt his feelings and technically, I didn't actually do anything to hurt him; I just stood there whilst that bitch Maria came onto me. But I see where he's coming from. If I found Alex making out with some girl when he was meant to be with me, I would of reacted the same. Wait, if it did happen to me, where would I go?

"I think I know where he might be!" I practically screamed down Rian's ear.

"Okay, tell me where and we'll go." He replied, keeping his eyes on the road as we drove through downtown Baltimore.


After some minutes of sitting in the backseat of Rian's tattered old car, we reached our destination; the park where I asked Alex to go to the September ball with me.

"I come here when I stress out, it calms me down, and it's a very relaxing place." I stated, heading towards the oak tree.

"So why do you think Alex will be here?" Cass asked, looking confused.

"If it were me, I would come here, and I also come here with Alex, so it might hold the same meaning to him as it does to me." I let out a tiny smile. I hope I'm right. "See that big oak tree?" I pointed in front of us. "I think he will be up there, come on." I started moving to the oak tree faster, and I could make out a figure sitting on the branch that me and Alex always sat on; our branch.

We finally got to the oak tree, and it turns out the figure was Alex. From where we were standing, it looked like he was sleeping. I climbed up the tree, and I could hear his music playing through his earphones. The current song was 'I Miss You' by Blink-182. It was funny actually, even though I had only been without him for one afternoon, I missed him. I missed him like hell.

I gently nudged his shoulder "Lex? Lex, wake up."

He slowly opened his eyes, a look of shock on his face once he'd adjusted to the light, which was slowly disappearing. "What are you doing here? How did you find me?" He asked, panicking.

"I came to apologise." I stared at him. His sleepy face was so pretty.

"I don't want your apology. And you can save your stupid excuses too."

"Ooh, someone's sassy today!" I joked, but his face showed that he didn't find it funny.

"Jack, I'm not in the mood, go back to Maria." He muttered, never giving me direct eye contact.

"You think I like that crazy bitch?!" My voice was raised now. "Alex, in case you couldn't see, she came onto me! I didn't do anything wrong! I didn't even kiss her b-"

"I said save it Jack! Please just leave me alone, I'm not ready to talk right now." He shivered. God, he must be freezing, he'd been out here all day in the harsh October air, wearing nothing but a top and a thin jumper.

"Okay, if you want me to, I'll leave you alone. But just promise me you'll take my jacket and go home before you freeze to death?" I unzipped my jacket, slid it off, and put it on his lap.

"Thanks." He muttered again, under his breath.

"Right, I'll leave now, but please just go home and text me when you get there. I'll be worrying otherwise." I spoke calmly.

"'Kay." He said simply.

I went to climb down the tree, kissing his forehead on the way. "I'll give you time, but don't keep me waiting forever." And then I left with Rian and Cass. They decided not to say anything because they thought I was doing alright by myself, but Cass said that if he didn't talk to me tomorrow, she would be having words with him.



"Thanks again for helping me, really. I don't know what I would do without you two." I said as I stepped out of Rian's car.

"No problem, buddy. I'll see you tomorrow yeah?"

"Yeah, bye Rian, bye Cass!" We all said our goodbyes and I went inside. I got to my room, showered, and got into bed, when I received a text:

-Alex
I'm home, don't text me back.

God, he was so stubborn. But he was mine. I think.

Hey guys sorry it's short but yeah, at least it's an update.

So Jack was 26 yesterday! Is it just me or does anyone else think he's still 18?

And today I went to see The Fault In Our Stars and I was crying before the film even started; I'm still not over the book haha
