Wisdom Vs. Beauty

I didn't really want to ride the Griffin, I really didn't. But I had to for Jack's sake. It was the only thing that was going to get us to camp, and Jack won't do anything I won't. I guess he trusts my judgment.

Once Jack was on the Griffin, sitting securely, with his arms wrapped around my middle, I sent out an Iris message to Annabeth.

"Grover, are you sure this safe?" Jack quizzed in panic.

"No," I said truthfully. "It's never safe. But, just trust me on this, okay? Percy and Annabeth are most likely on their way to come and help us."

"Okay, I trust you," he replied, still unsure about it all. "How long do you think this thing will carry us for?"

"I'm not sure. If we're lucky, he'll get us to at least Pennsylvania or New Jersey, however, since there's more than 150 pounds on his back, we might not even make it to Massachusetts." I explained in the simplest way possible for Jack.

"Oh, okay."

The next hour dragged on, just like school does. That's when the Griffin couldn't hold us any longer. I was awake, whereas Jack was sleeping, when suddenly the creature was falling out of the sky. We were falling out of the fucking sky.

WHERE ARE SOME GODDAMN EMPTY SODA CANS WHEN YOU NEED THEM?

"Jack, wake up! We're falling out of the sky!"

"WHAT?! Grover! What are we going to do?!" he shrieked, when a chariot, with Annabeth steering, came towards us.

"Get on, we'll help you!" she commanded, grabbing my hand, and pulling me onto the chariot. She took a hold of Jack's hand and pulled him onto the chariot before he fell to the ground, dust shattering as he hit the ground.

In the corner of the chariot, I saw an estranged boy who looked about Jack's age. He was staring at Jack, taking in his features. His hand covered his mouth, before taking it off.

"Jacky?" he whispered. Alex?

This is too short, I'm sorry. And I was trying to make Grover a paranoid freak like he is in the books, I just didn't know how. I guess I need to re-read the series, haha. -Carynxo
