Waiting For You To Come Around

1/1

Alex hopped out of Rian's car, waving as he walked up the porch steps of his house. After Rian's car was not in sight, Alex slipped inside his house. It was creepily quiet, which is not normal for a house that holds seven people. You see, Isobel and Peter adopt kids after Isobel found out she couldn't get pregnant again after her first kid, which is Alex.

Alex is the oldest of all five kids in the house. After Alex there is Lauren, who is 15 and then Jonah, who is 12. The last two, Kailey and Jade, are twins at the age of 2. The only thing to say is that it's a full house.

The honey haired boy raised his eyebrows as he stepped more into his house. He was confused to where everyone is. He thinks for a second and walks into the kitchen, seeing a note sitting on the counter.

'Alex,
Lauren is at her friends house studying and Jonah is at soccer practice. Me and your dad took the twins to the park, we'll be back soon!
-Mom'

Alex sat the note back down on the counter and went up the stairs and to his room, which is the last room on the hall. He set his backpack down and kicked off his converse, sighing as he plopped down on his bed. The honey haired boy leaned over and grabbed his laptop of the floor and opened it up.

After a while, he found himself scrolling through twitter with his phone on his stomach. He was waiting for his boyfriend, Jack, to get home from his after school music course. Alex's boyfriend lives all the way in Washington while Alex is all the way over in Maryland. So there is quite a time difference, but they work around it.

Alex smiled as he felt his phone vibrate against his stomach. He quickly picked it up, seeing he has and incoming FaceTime call from Jack. His smile grew wider as he slid the green bar across the screen.

"Hey!" Jack said happily as Alex saw him moving things around and finally sitting down.
Alex smiled as he looked at Jack through the screen. "How's lovely Washington today?" He asked as the smile stayed on his face, he couldn't wipe a smile off his face when he's talking to Jack.

Jack laughed and rolled his eyes as he leaned against the wall. "Rainy and rainy, ooo, and wait, rainy," The raven haired boy said with a grin as he ran his fingers through his wet fringe. "And Baltimore?"

"Lame," Alex said with a small laugh. "Maybe you should come and make it more interesting," the honey haired boy said with a wink at the camera.

Jack smiled sadly back, biting the inside of his cheek. "Summer, remember? It's not that far away, only 5 months," he said, the same sad smile on his lips. 5 months was far away to Jack, but he would live with it.

Alex nodded, "I know. Then you are flying here to spend a whole three months with me and my crazy family," he said, smiling widely at the idea of Jack helping with his little sisters.

Jack smiled widely, "I can't wait."

The pair spent the next four hours talking about everything and nothing. Until Alex got called for dinner and then they had to hang up, until later.

Alex walked downstairs, the same stupid smile on his face he always got from talking to Jack. "What's for dinner?" He asked as he sat down at the large, wood dining table next to Jonah and Lauren, who were on their phone and iPod.

"Lasagna," Isobel, Alex's mom, replied as she set down the steaming plate of lasagna in the middle of the table.

"Yum," Alex said as he smiled at his mom, grabbing a plate from the stack next to where the lasagna now was.

After all the family was seated, they ate their nice meal. It was a loud dinner, like always, but what do you expect from a family of seven people? It was now after dinner and Alex was helping his mom get the twins cleaned and ready for bed, since his dad had to go to his office and get some work done.

Alex laughed, setting Jade down in her crib as she talked on about her day to Alex. "That sounds fun, Jade. Wish I could of joined," he said with a grin as he leaned down and pecked Jade's forehead. "But now it's time for bed, so goodnight, love."

Jade smiled up at Alex. "Goodnwight!" She said happily as she laid down and stuck her thumb in her mouth.

Alex grinned as he walked out of the room and shut off the light. It was now 9, and Alex was just hoping that Jack would still be up. The boy quickly walked to his room and changed into something more comfortable before laying down on his bed. The honey haired boy grabbed his phone and sent a text out to Jack.

To: Jack<3
Hey babe, are you still up? :)

He quickly got a reply, much to his satisfaction.

From: Jack <3
Yeah :) I can't FaceTime, since it's kind of dark, but you can call mee

Alex smiled and immediately took up on that opportunity, clicking the call button on his phone. He waiting for a few seconds before Jack answered.

"Hey," he whispered and Alex heard some rustling on the other end.

Alex smiled at the sound of his boyfriends voice. "Hi," he said, a yawn coming after that.
"You tired?" Jack said with a small laugh through the phone.

Alex nodded, even though Jack couldn't see him, "Yeah, it's been a long day. Jade was a hassle to bathe," he said with a small laugh.

Jack grinned at the sleepy sound of his boyfriends voice. "You should go to sleep then, why did you even call me?" He asked with another small laugh.

"But I wanna talk to you," The honey haired boy whined as he stood up and hit the light off, making the room dark. He stumbled his was back to his bed and got under the covers.

Alex heard Jack's laugh once again, not that he minded. "But if you're tired you should sleep," Jack said as he laid back in his bed now.

"Aren't you tired too? It's like 12 for you," Alex said into the phone, but also into the darkness.

"Kind of. I had some coffee earlier so," Jack said, dragging out the 'o' at the end.

Alex laughed, which turned into a yawn. "I can't wait for you to be here," he said as he fiddled with his fingers. "It's hard being here alone when the person I love is so far away and not here with me," he said with a small sigh.

Jack sighed into the phone. He thought about that a lot. "I know. That goes across my mind almost everyday," he said with a small frown, "but hey, remember 5 months. Only 5 months." 5 months seemed far away.

"I know," Alex said with another sigh, "5 months just seems so far away right now."

Jack nodded slowly, agreeing with his boyfriend. "I know, but it'll fly by fast, I promise," he said with a small smile at the thought of being with Alex.

Alex smiled softly, his eyes fluttering closed. "You should sing to me," he whispered softly as shifted so his phone was under his ear and he didn't have to hold it up.

Jack smiled softly and began to whisper a song softly to Alex. It wasn't very often that Alex got Jack to sing to him, so this was a surprise for him. In the whole two years they were dating Alex got Jack to sing for him once, now twice.

Jack's voice lulled Alex to sleep quickly. And after a while Jack's eyes fell shut, falling asleep as well, hoping that these 5 months would move quickly.
