The Good Life

**Part 2**

A/N: So I wrote a part that's 14 years later! It's going to have Izzy, Jack, and Alex's point of view and I wrote in Izzy's point of view first just so you can get a feel of it. So just tell me if you like it or not and we'll go from there!!

*14 Years later*

*Izzy*

“Wake up Birthday girl, it’s time for school!” Papa exclaimed, waking me up from my peaceful sleep.

Today was my sixteenth birthday and Halloween which I liked because that meant I could wear a costume to school.

“I’m up I’m up” I mumbled and sat up in my bed trying to fully wake up.

“Happy Birthday Izzy!” Daddy smiled as he walked in.

“Thank you, are you going to dress up today?” I asked him. I assumed he was because he worked at the same school I went to and most of the teachers were going to be wearing costumes. Even my Grandpa would always dress up as a Zombie coach until he retired last year.

“No I don’t feel like dressing up this year.” He said.

“Well I’m going to be Minnie Mouse!” I told them.

“Is it school appropriate?” he asked.

“Yes.” I sighed. Of course that would be his first concern.

“Okay well you get ready and well go make you breakfast.” Papa said.

“I hope its waffles!” I yelled as they left my room.

I got out of my bed and went to the bathroom to start my daily routine. Fixing my messy hair and my make-up took the longest. Usually I would straighten my hair because I hated when I left it curly, but the Minnie Mouse ears looked better on me with my hair curly so I left it.

It took a little longer for me to get ready because I stopped every few minutes to text back my family and friends texting me ‘Happy Birthday.’ Nana, Aunt May, and Uncle Rian texted me now because they were all up this early. I’m pretty sure the rest of my family would text me throughout my day. The only two friends I texted back were my best friends Kellin Quinn and Lynn Gunn. I’ve been friends when Kellin I guess since I was born and we met Lynn in middle school. We have other friends we hang out with, but we were the closest.

When I was all finish I went down to the kitchen to see a plate of waffles, eggs, and sausage in front on the chair I sit in. I almost cried at the sight, usually I would only have time to grab toast or a pop tart before leaving but Papa woke me up thirty minutes earlier so I could take my time.

"You look cute, honey.” Papa said as I sat down.

“Thank you! I don’t know how I feel about this shade of lipstick, it doesn’t seem red enough.” I complained.

“It looks fine.” He told me. “So what are you, Lynn, and Kellin doing tonight?”

“I want us to go trick-or-treating and then there’s um this party tonight that somebody is throwing and we were probably going to go to.” I mumbled the last part because I forgot to ask my parents if I could even go to the party.

“Whose party is it?” Daddy asked.

“This sophomore guy named Kevin, in my history class.” I lied. It was really this party that a few football players were throwing, senior football players, and since Daddy taught seniors he would probably know one of the guys if I named them.

Daddy nodded his head skeptically and said, “Oh, well I know a few students in my class were talking about some party a few football players were throwing and I would hate to find out that you were lying to us and were going to sneak to that party instead.”

I choked on my orange juice but tried to play it cool like I didn’t know what he was talking about. I hate that my parents were teenagers once, they know almost always when I’m lying to them, well Daddy usually does.

“Alex I think Izzy knows better than to lie to us and try to sneak to another party, right honey?” Papa said confidently.

“Right.” I said nervously looking anywhere other than in their eyes. I hated lying to them, but I really wanted to go out and have fun with my friends. Plus other people’s parents were letting them go to the party so I don’t know why it was so hard for my parents to do the same.

“I was just making sure.” Daddy said raising his hands in surrender. “I would also hate for you to get grounded on your birthday and for us to take your present away.” He added on at the end giving me one last warning.

“Present? What present?” I asked confused.

“Finish eating first, then we’ll show you.” Papa said.

I quickly at all of my food excited to see what they got me. “Okay I’m finish! Can I see my present now?!?” I asked frantically.

“Yeah!” Papa laughed. “Alex go get it.” He said and Daddy quickly ran to their room and ran back out with a small neatly wrapped present in his hand. He handed it to me and I shook it curiously trying guess what it was before opening it. I don’t know what could possibly be in a small box like this.

“Stop shaking it and open it.” Daddy chuckled.

“Okay okay!” I ripped the paper off and opened the box. There was a car key, but not for any car it was for a Range Rover Autobiography. When I asked Papa and Daddy for a Range Rover I thought if they were to get it they would get the basic model not an almost $140,000 car.

“It’s outside!” Papa told me.

“I’m . . . completely lost for words.” I cried.

“Thank you would be nice” Daddy joked.

“Thank you Thank you Thank you!!” I praised them as I went up to wrap them both into a tight hug. Then I ran out the front door to see my new car. It was black with black leather seats, everything I imagined it to be. I opened the door and jumped in the driver seat ready to go to school in my new car.

“Babe wait, your father has to ride with you.” Papa said. I almost forgot I only have a learner’s permit which meant I have to drive with parent or guardian until I get my license next Tuesday. Usually Daddy would drive me to school, but today it was the other way round!

“Oh yeah!” I giggled and waited for Daddy to get in on the passage side. He brought my backpack with him since I was in such a rush I forgot to grab it.

“Have a good day you two!” Papa waved at us as I drove away.

*Jack*

Where has time went? Yesterday I was changing Izzy’s diapers and today I watching her drive herself to school. I guess everyone wasn’t exaggerating when they said that this would happen. I just didn’t think it would happen so fast. I’m positive Alex and I did a good job raising Izzy in a healthy environment. We still lived in the same house that she grew up in, and since Lisa moved away years ago this was an even more perfect neighborhood for our family. The Fuentes never did move back into their old house, and no one ever moved in so there’s an empty house in front of us still. I haven’t talked to Vicki or the boys since the Christmas after they moved. I hope they were doing better in San Francisco and everything between Vicki and Emilio worked out fine.

We still talked to everyone else: Cassadee, Rian, Oli, Hannah, Austin, and Alan. Rian and Cass were still married of course and decided not to adopt kids. They treated Izzy like she was their own and spoiled her right along with us. Oli and Hannah got married twelve years ago, and haven’t had any children either. I think they never planned on having kids anyways. Austin and Alan were married and adopted two children, fourteen year old Taylor and eight year old Ian.

May still stays here in San Diego, but she doesn’t work for me anymore. She went back to school so that she could start teaching Kindergarten children. She met this guy named Danny Kurily a few years back and now she’s married to him and they made my handsome nine year old nephew Evan. I liked Danny for her, I could tell he actually loved and cared for May by just the way he looked at her. He also hit Adam a few times when he tried to hurt May again which was a huge bonus.

Alex and I have had a perfect life so far. We had a couple of arguments when I try to convince him to adopt one more baby with me, but he wouldn’t change his mind on the subject and I finally let it go. We were both in our forties, he’s forty-four and I’m fourth-three, and he agreed that when he turned fifty he would quit teaching so we could start traveling the world together. I also wanted to make sure Izzy was stable in life before we started.

I still owned my clothing line and business was still going strong. I opened multiple stores across the U.S and I finally opened stored overseas. I was hoping Izzy would be interested in business and wanted to pursue a degree in it so she could take over JaGK after me, but she doesn’t know what she wants to do after high school. She doesn’t plan on going to college which is fine she really doesn’t have to work if she doesn’t want to, I can support her with the money I make from JaGK even long after I’m gone which is what I planned on doing anyways. Of course Alex was a little distraught after hearing she didn’t want to go to college, but after a while he got over it and said he would support her no matter what she decided to do.

*Izzy*

“Happy Birthday!!” Lynn shouted as she ran to my car holding three balloons for me. She was dressed as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. Daddy hopped out of my car and told us bye before walking off to his classroom.

“Thank you!” I hugged her.

Kellin walked up slowly to us looking behind us at my car. “What is that?” He questioned, but I’m pretty sure he already knew the answer.

“It’s my birthday present!” I exclaimed.

“That thing cost more than some people’s houses and your parents just handed it to you and said here you go?” He asked still pretty shocked.

“That car probably didn’t put a dent in their bank accounts.” Lynn laughed.

“Yeah and my dad already threatened to take it away if they find out I’m going to that Halloween party tonight.” I told them and they both raised their eyebrows.

“Do you want to risk it?” Lynn asked.

“Yeeaah I’ll just have to be extra careful.” I sighed.

*Hours later*

Lynn was at my house with me fixing our make-up and getting ready for the party tonight. Kellin was going to drive us since it was his turn to be our designated driver.

“Do you think Alexa will be there tonight?” Lynn asked me. Alexa this girl that Lynn has been in love with since the beginning of freshman year. After hours of stocking her Twitter and Tumblr we found out that she was also a lesbian which meant Lynn might have a chance with her.

“Maybe! Like half of the school is going so I think she’ll show up.” I said enthusiastically. “Now come get in my picture so we can go. Kellin is downstairs bitching because we’re taking too long.” I said and she laughed. I took multiple pictures of us and uploaded the best ones onto Instagram.

“Finally!” Kellin complained as we walked down stairs.

“Stop complaining.” Lynn said.

“Papa! Daddy! We’re leaving!” I yelled loud enough so they could hear me in the living room.

“Okay. Remember your curfew is midnight!” Papa yelled back.

“Ha Auntie Tay said my curfew is one am.” Kellin gloated and I rolled my eyes at him. Lynn’s parents didn’t care what she did so she could come home whenever she wanted.

“Shotgun!” Lynn yelled as we walked out to Kellin’s Mustang.

“Nooo I wanted shotgun! I call it on the way back.” I cried.

“No you can’t do that!” Lynn yelled at me.

“I do not want to deal with you two while you’re drunk.” Kellin sighed and we both giggled.

The party was only ten minutes away. It was at Tyler Ramsey’s house, he was the wide receiver for our football team. I’ve never said two words to the guy, but I was now standing in his kitchen about to take a Jell-O shot. We ran into our other friends: Justin Hills, Jesse Lawson, and Gabe Barham. Justin and Jesse both had Jell-O shots in their hands ready to and Gabe couldn’t drink because he was their DD.

“Okay on three.” Jesse said and put up three fingers. “One...Two…Three!” we tilted our heads back and let the Jell-O slide out of the cup and into our mouths. I swallowed it quickly so I would taste the alcohol in it.

“I need something stronger.” Justin complained and Jesse agreed. Jesse went to grab four shot glasses and Justin grabbed a bottle of Fireball from the fridge.

“Can we drink something else? Last time I drunk that I threw up.” Lynn whined.

“Sucks to suck.” Jesse said as he filled the four glasses and handed them to us. He counted down again and we simultaneously took shots again.

“You better slow down, I don’t want Alex and Jack to catch me dragging you into your house.” Kellin joked.

“Don’t worry! I’ll be fine!” I assured him and he gave me a knowing look.

Three hours later Lynn was making out with Alexa, and Justin and Jesse both found girls who were equally as drunk as them. They were probably going to go look for bed rooms in a few minutes. I was sitting on a couch drunk off my ass, next to a heavy snoring guy and Kellin. A few guys came up to me and asked if I wanted to ‘leave with them’, but each time Kellin would tell them that we were dating so they would leave me alone.

I could kind of see the enjoyment Kellin got from saying that we were together. He’s had a crush on me since elementary school. Lynn thinks that we would make a cute couple, but agreed that we shouldn’t jeopardize our friendship. The first and only relationship I’ve ever been was last year when I dated this guy named Nick. I really liked him, but I wasn’t ready to sleep with him after only dating for one month so he broke up with me. Of course I was heartbroken, but I’d rather be heartbroken than forced to do something I didn’t want to.

“You look gorgeous tonight, Izzy.” Kellin said into my ear so I could hear him over the loud music blasting.

“Thanks Kells.” I smiled. Usually I would hurry and try to change the subject when he said things like this, but since I was drunk I didn’t mind his complements.

“You should wear your hair like this more often.” He said as he pushed a few strands behind my ears. I giggled not trusting myself to say anything back to him.

The next thing I know he was leaning in and our lips connected. This was the first time he’s kissed me and I always thought that I would pull away, but I continued to make out with him. It was best he did this while I was drunk, because sober me would have freaked out.

I don’t know how long we sat on the couch making out, but what feels like an eternity later Lynn came over and pull us apart yelling something at us.

“Wait can you repeat that.” I giggled and she sighed.

“I said what the hell are you guys doing?” She yelled. I could tell at this point she was sobering up.

“We were having a conversation that you rudely interrupted.” I said and she rolled her eyes at me.

“Oh is that what you call a conversation?” She told me. “And you you’re not even drunk! What’s your excuse?” She yelled at Kellin.

“I’m sorry! I couldn’t control myself.” He said looking down at the ground.

“Let’s just go, I’ll yell at you two when this one” She pointed to me, “sobers up in the morning.” She said.

“Yeah we should go it’s already-” Kellin stopped to look at his phone. “Fuuuuuuuuck it’s One-thirty!” Kellin yelled.

As soon as those words left his lips my heart dropped. Even though I was drunk I knew that I was in so much trouble. Kellin was only thirty minutes late on his curfew, I, on the other hand, was an hour and thirty minutes past it. We quickly ran to Kellin’s car not stopping to tell anyone bye. I looked at my phone to see if Papa or Daddy called me or texted me, but it was dead. Now I’m really going to die because I knew one of them attempted to contact me to check on me.

Kellin stopped at my house first so my parents wouldn’t have to wait any longer for me to come home. Maybe I would get lucky and they both fell asleep, maybe I was panicking for nothing.
“Okay Izzy are you okay enough to go in and face your parents if they’re awake?” Lynn asked me.

I took a few deep breaths to calm my nerves before saying, “Yes.”

“Should I go in with you? I feel like part of this is my fault.” Kellin said.

“No no no I’ll be fine and I’m sure they don’t want any witnesses for my murder.” I said trying to lighten the mood.

“Here eat these.” Lynn handed me three mints to cover up the smell of alcohol on my breath. I quickly chewed them and prepared myself to go into my house. I told my friends one last goodbye and got out of Kellin’s car.

When I got to the front door I couldn’t stick my key in because Daddy had already swung the door open. I stood there trying to saying something, anything, but nothing would come out of my mouth. Anger couldn’t describe the look on his face it was like something I’ve never seen before. Papa was standing behind him looking at me dissatisfiedly.

“What time is it?” Daddy said through his teeth.

“I’m not sure. My phone died.” I mumbled sadly.

“It’s almost two am.” I swear there was steam coming out of his ears. “What time is your curfew?”

“Midnight.” I mumbled again. I hated when he made me answer these questions, it always made me feel worse.

“Did you go to that party that you weren’t allowed to go to?” He asked.

“No!” I quickly lied, but the look in his eyes told me he didn’t believe me.

“I’m going to ask you one more time, Izzy.” He closed his eyes and sighed. “Did. You. Go. To. That. Party?” He emphasized every word. I wanted to lie again, but I knew that would only make things worse so I took a deep breath and told the truth.

“Yes.” I felt tears start to build up in my eyes.

“Izzy, you said you wouldn’t!” Papa said disappointedly.

“I know and I’m sorry.” I apologized.

“You couldn’t go one day with your car before being grounded and having it taken away from you.” Daddy chuckled angrily. “I’m taking your keys, your phone, and your laptop.” He added.

“I’m really sorry Daddy and Papa.” I said as I handed him my phone. My keys and laptop were on the coffee table in the living room so I didn’t have to go get those for him.

“Go to your room”
