A few days have passed since Easter and it is April 11th, the day of our first show for the Spring Fever tour with old buddies, Pierce The Veil along with bands Mayday Parade and You Me At Six. We are in Tulsa, Oklaholma and this is the first tour that Megan is with us since Warped of last year.
Also with us is our 2 week old daughter Amy, something that we've never had to experience before. I never thought I would've actually brought her on tour with me, but this tour will definitely be an unforgettable one.
As we pull up to the venue, I walk up to Megan, who's sitting in the front lounge with Alex, holding Amy when I catch them talking.
"You want to perform with us again?" Alex asks her. "I'll understand if you don't want to leave Amy unattended."
"Um, maybe." She answers nervously. "Would you still want me to sing Dear Maria?" She asks.
"I was actually thinking that you could try doing Remembering Sunday." Alex tells her, wrapping his arm around her. "I'm sure you could do it."
"I thought Cassadee does it." She says looking at us both. That's when I look at her and smile.
"Babe, have you noticed that she's not on this tour with us?" I laugh.
"Oh my God." She laughs. "I'm so stupid. Well, if I do it, then who will watch Amy?" As she asks us who will stay in charge of Amy for the tour, a familiar pal, Vic walks onto the bus.
"Hey buddy." I say walking up and giving him a bro hug.
"Hey guys." He says looking up and noticing Megan. "Hey, it's you!" I look over and notice Megan get red in the face.
"Yep it's me." She smiles. "Still strong." She says pumping her one fist in the air while she holds Amy with her other arm, making everyone laugh. "So, as I was saying, if I sing for you guys who's going to watch Amy?"
"I'm sure we can do it." Vic pops in. We all look up and give him a serious look.
"You really would do that?" Megan asks in a serious tone. "You don't have to."
"No, let us. It won't hurt. It's just while you sing for the one song right?"
"Yea." Megan says. "Thanks Vic, I really owe you one."
"Let me go tell the guys our new order." Vic laughs as he walks off of the bus. We all stop and stare at each other as Zack and Rian walk into the room.
"So guess what?" Alex asks Zack and Rian.
"What?" Zack asks confused.
"Megan's going to be singing with us again." Alex yells in excitement. "Wooh! I'm excited and I shall scream it from the rooftops!" Everyone starts to laugh at Alex as he acts like his typical, crazy self.
"What song is she going to sing with us?" Rian asks.
"Remembering Sunday." I say smiling. "I think we should get to hear how she'll sound. You know get a preview." I laugh as I look at Megan and see her give me the 'what the hell Jack' look.
"Yes! Sing for us!" Alex yells causing us all to chant 'sing.' till eventually Megan opens up.
"I'm not coming back, I've done something so terrible. I'm terrified to speak but you'd expect that from me." She sings softly. Suddenly, she stops and looks at us.
"Beautiful baby!" I yell. "Keep going."
"I've mixed up, I'll be blunt. Now the rain is just washing you out of my hair." She continues to sing, her pitch getting higher. "And out of my mind, keeping an eye on the world. With so many thousands of feet off the ground. I'm over you now I'm at home in the clouds, towering over your head."
"I guess I'll go home now." Alex sings, giving the song its natural ending for us to see how it'll sound. "Wow, your voice girl." Alex says in a gay guy voice causing Megan to laugh.
"What about it?" She laughs.
"I love it so much!" He screams giving her a hug. After a few hours pass, we head into the venue, leading Megan and Amy backstage before we head to our meet and greet.
