Alex checked his phone an hour later. Still no reply. Alex sent her another text.
Everything good?
Alex put his phone down. He was starting to get worried about her. He knew he had to trust her, but it didn't make him feel reassured at all.

I choked out a sob. Bradley held me tight, whispering "It's okay, baby, hush, it's okay." At any other time, I would pull away, saying, "I'm not your baby," but I needed it now. I sobbed into his hoodie. After five minutes, he whispered in my ear, "We need to go."
I pulled away. "What? What about her?"
"Imagine what will happen if someone finds us here. We need to run. Now." He helped me up. I couldn't believe we were running and leaving her. I sighed. We couldn't help her anymore. I turned away from the gruesome sight, my stomach churning. There was so much blood, just like the night at the concert.
"Why do so many people have to die for this?" I asked to no one in particular. Bradley held me and ushered me away, whispering "Hush baby, it's okay now. It's okay."
I felt my phone vibrate, and tapped the screen.
New Message from Alex!
Everything good?
I clicked on a previous message, also from him.
Hey, B. Are you guys good? Don't let your friend make a move, you are too young for a boyfriend.

I considered calling him and telling him everything. But instead, I sent back a simple message:
Everything's okay.

Alex's phone vibrated, and he quickly tapped the screen and saw the message.

Alex sighed with relief, although something felt off. Wouldn't she respond to me saying she's too young to date?
Alex shrugged it off, and sent back the simple text.
