Chapter Thirty: Wanted
The Baltimore show was one of the best shows I've ever seen the guys play.
Sure, they've played some fantastic shows, but this one was... it just blew my mind at how great it was.
Maybe it was because everyone was in such a great mood. Zack had successfully learned a new trick on his skateboard; Rian had Cassadee back, Alex, well, he hadn't done anything, but he seemed excited; & Jack: Jack & I would be taking care of my daughter together. He seemed stoked about it, & it made me smile at how much he wanted to do this.
"Baltimore! You've been a wonderful crowd tonight; but the show isn't over yet," Alex said after Dear Maria ended. The crowd cheered, making Alex look down.
"Jack, would you like to go first?" Alex asked, & Jack nodded, taking his mic off his stand.
"So.. we've gotten a new-old crew member. When I say new-old, I mean she's worked for us before, & I'm excited to tell you guys who it is," Jack said, & he waved me over. I walked out on stage & faced the crowd. Jack placed his arm around my waist & pulled me closer, & the fans screamed.
"I'm not sure you guys remember her, but Rebecca's back with us," Jack said, & he kissed me gently. I heard a few boos, which kind of hurt my feelings, but I knew that they should get over it, because I'm so in love with Jack it's not even funny.
"Now Alex, it's your turn," Jack said, & he replaced his mic on his stand.
"Well... I'm excited about this & really nervous, okay?" Alex said. Jack removed his guitar & handed it to Danny who gladly took it away. Jack returned to my side, & he linked our hands together. We left the stage, but continued to watch.
" There's this girl... & I love her so much," Alex said, & he paced the stage.
"What is he doing?" I asked.
"You'll see," was all Jack said.
"I want to invite her on stage. Stephanie?" Alex asked, & he turned to look at her. She walked out hesitantly, meeting Alex in the middle of the stage.
"This isn't easy, but I'm excited... Stephanie, I love you so much, & I want to make it.. official," Alex said. Stephanie nodded, & Alex took her hands in his.
"Would you marry me, babe?" Alex asked, & he pulled a ring out of his pocket. There was no box, he didn't kneel, nothing.
"I.. I don't know what to say. I love you too, Alex. So much, my god that ring is gorgeous," she said, & I laughed.
"Say yes," he said, & she nodded. Alex's whole face lit up, & he slid the ring on her finger. She pulled him into a kiss, & the crowd roared with delight.

"He'll be here soon, Jack!" I called from our room.
"I'm almost done!" Jack called from the connected bathroom. I heard the shower stop, & a minute later, Jack was walking into the bedroom with a towel around his waist.
"I'll be downstairs, alright? Hurry up," I said, & I rushed past him and down the stairs just as there was a knock on the door. I hurried over & pulled the door open, meeting the face of my uncle. He smiled at me, & walked inside, Jackie attached to his hand.
"Where's Jack?" He asked.
"He'll be down in a minute. He's just getting dressed," I said with a nod.
"Okay. Jackie, look! It's mommy!" Chris said, pointing to me. I looked at Jackie, & my heart melted right there. She was utterly adorable. I knelt down, & she walked towards me & into my arms. I closed my eyes as they filled with tears, & I stood up with Jackie in my arms. I opened my eyes & looked at Jackie, & a smile decorated my lips.
"Mommy?" Jackie asked. I could only nod. I set her back down as Jack came bounding down the stairs, his wet hair flopping over his forehead. He was wearing his glasses, along with a Blink shirt & black skinny jeans. He approached me, & placed his hand on my waist.
"Morning, Jack," Chris said.
"Morning," Jack greeted
"So Rebecca, Jackie starts kindergarten after this next year. I've got all her clothes in the car, so I'm going to go get those, plus her toys, & bedding," Chris said. I nodded, & he left to go get everything.
"So, we'll put her in the guest room, then?" I asked, to which Jack nodded. He sat down on the couch & looked at Jackie with a smile.
"Jackie," he said softly, & she looked at him. She didn't approach, because she looked scared.
"It's okay, baby. This is daddy," I said, sitting next to Jack. She smiled & giggled, then wobbled her way over to Jack's outstretched arms. I rested my head on Jack's shoulder with a smile plastered on my face.
Jack would be the perfect dad, even if Jackie wasn't biologically his.
