Alex’s prediction of getting to Jack’s house in two days wasn’t exactly true. They needed to add another day, and they finally arrived at the three story house. Holly stared at the mansion in awe, wondering how this dropout managed to get so successful. She followed Alex with their fingers laced to the front door of the mansion, her duffle slinging around her right shoulder. Alex smirked to her before he pounded on the door. He’s proud of himself for getting a plan in action, Holly confirmed in her head, which means he now expects some action from me.

When Holly had seen the house, she expected a suave guy with his hair gelled back and probably a nice dress shirt on to answer the door. She did not expect what she saw.

The door opened to reveal a tall and lanky man with skunk-like hair. Holly’s brow furrowed as she examined his outfit: an almost too big Blink 182 tee with a pair of dark skinny jeans and some dirty Converse that matched hers. Alex embraced the man with a huge grin and pulled away, gesturing to Holly.

“Jack, this is my girlfriend, Holly.” Alex went over and hugged her close to him. “Holly, this is my favorite college dropout, Jack Barakat.”

“Hi,” Holly waved shyly, but was surprised when Jack suddenly brought her into a tight-squeezing hug.

“You forgot to add your favorite boyfriend into that introduction.” Jack commented.

Alex chuckled as Jack let go of Holly, not being used to their type of humor. This is going to take some getting used to, she thought. “It’s nice to meet you,” she smiled towards Jack.

“Well, anyone who knows Alex is a friend of mine.” He grinned, gesturing for them to come inside. He took one of Alex’s duffels as he led them both inside. “So, how’d you guys meet?” he asked as him and Alex walked side by side down the entry way.

Alex went quiet and looked back at Holly, who was shaking her head. He turned back to his friend with a fake smile and said, “All to be explained later.”

Jack gave him a confused look, but continued down the main hallway, which Holly noticed was very long. “Alright then … So, you guys want to share a room―?”

“Share,” Alex grinned before Holly could answer.

The skunk-haired man nodded as they arrived in the large living room, which had the kitchen right beside it. He pointed to the hallway to their left. “Just go down there and take a right; the guest room should be right there.” He handed Alex his bag back. “You guys have a few hours before dinner to shower and stuff. My friend, Rian, and his girlfriend, Cassadee, should be coming over too.”

Holly thanked him quickly before Alex whisked her away. They found the guest room just fine, and as soon as Alex shut the door, he threw the bags down and flopped himself on the bed. “Oh my god, it even smells fresh.”

Holly slowly lowered her duffle and massaged her shoulder as she looked around the room. It was huge, to say the least. A king-sized bed sat in the middle with two solid oak nightstands on each side. Beaded lamps, both small and tall, were scattered amongst the room for sources of light, while a large flat-screen was off to the side.

“Holy shit …” She muttered, looking around.

Alex sat up on his elbows. “I told you I had it covered.”

“Yeah, but for how long?” She rubbed the back of her neck in nervousness as Alex stood.

“Don’t think about that right now,” he smiled, causing her to also. His hands slowly moved down from her shoulders and to her hips while he leaned in, kissing her neck.

After a moment, she pushed him away, and he gave her a rolling of his eyes. “We just got to your friend’s house. Not now.”

He sighed. “You ruin all the fun.”

She threw her bag on the desk she hadn’t noticed in back of her. She shuffled through all the articles of clothing until she found an outfit suitable for a nice dinner. Alex knew these people, she didn’t. She needed to make a good impression. (Also put into consideration, she was at least a couple years younger than all of them.)

She turned back to him, noticing that he was channel surfing while laying back on the mattress. “I’m taking a shower.”

He grinned. “Can I join?”

“I haven’t showered in three days.”

“Right,” he clicked his tongue.

She walked over to the first door on her right, and thankfully, it was a bathroom. “You know,” she spun around, “you should probably be conversing with your friend.”

The bathrooms in Jack’s house had everything. Not only did it include a small shower area, but also a Jacuzzi/bathtub. Yes, Holly was nervous about the time they were going to spend here, but she knew she was actually going to enjoy it.

The shower was so warm and refreshing that she made herself comfortable and took a few minutes to stand there. She thought about her life at the moment and how it was probably going more downward than it had been before. She kept getting distracted though, because right outside the bathroom, she could hear her ringtone to her cell going off. She ignored it and finally got out.

She quickly plastered some makeup on her face and threw on a nice sweater with some leggings before walking out of the steaming bathroom. She coughed a little, not used to taking such a hot shower before, and finally her eyes rested on an unfamiliar face in her room that was holding up her cell phone.

“Your friend is calling you,” the woman said, tossing the phone to Holly. “I think the caller ID said, Hayley.”

Holly looked down and saw that the stranger was right. She wanted to pick it up, but ended up hitting the ignore button before she could. She finally looked back up at the woman, noticing how beautiful she was with her brown and blonde-streaked hair. “She called a couple times and I heard the ringing from all the way in the living room,” the woman shrugged.

“Excuse me,” Holly put down her cell on the desk next to her, “but who are you?”

“Oh,” she smiled warmly and held out her hand, “I’m Cassadee. You must be Alex’s girlfriend, Holly.”

Realization dawned on the blonde: Cassadee, Rian’s girlfriend. “Nice to meet you,” Holly beamed. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to act like that.”

“It’s fine, I would’ve if some strange girl came into my room too and started looking at my phone.” She said, causing Holly to chuckle. “By the way, dinner’s ready, and I was asked to come escort you because Alex wouldn’t get off his ass.”

Holly laughed softly. “I’d love to.”

As you guys can probably tell by now, this story will be (kind of) be going between two point of views: Holly's and Hayley's. Some of the story will focus on Holly and her life with Alex while staying at Jack's place, and some of it will almost focus on Hayley and her search to find out where Holly exactly went. With that in mind, what do you guys think Hayley might be planning? And do you like Jack? (I sure dooooo<3)
