"Baby!" I yell pulling Megan in to hug her tight. "Please don't listen to him. You know none of that is true."
"But, it is. My body will never be the same. He ruined it. I have scars that I will never cope with because of how bad he beat me that night. He made me into nothing. I will never be the same, because of him." It's so hard to understand what she's saying because of how hard she's crying.
"What happened?" Tay asks concerned. We then give the girls the story since they missed all of it.
"It wasn't because of what I said was it?" Cassadee asks her upset. "I'm so sorry, Megan. I didn't mean to upset or offend you."
"No, it wasn't you. I had looked up and saw Doomerz when you said what you said, and it made me get upset. I haven't seen him since he raped me. So, this is my fault, not yours." Megan continues to cry hard and we all get up and give her a huge group hug.
"This isn't your fault, Megan." Zack states. "It never will be. You should be able to get up and get a few seconds alone without that asshole coming in to ruin it all."
"Yeah, for sure. You're a beautiful girl." Katie adds. "You shouldn't let whatever some douche bag guy said get to you. You've got five guys all sitting here who can easily say how much they care about you, and us girls, well, we're going to start to be there for you."
"Thanks.." Megan mutters under her breath.
"Everyone's right. I mean come on hun. If we didn't care about you, you wouldn't be here, or at least not with us." Rian says to me. "From the moment we all met you, we wanted to help you and we all promised to protect you, and we are still going to protect you and show you how much you mean to us."
"Ok." Megan mumbles. I then unintentionally sigh. Please be happy again sweetheart. Alex walks up to her and pulls her in for a hug.
"Megs, cheer up. We all care about you. We all know that what he said about you isn't true. You have gotten so much happier since he got out of your life. Don't let what he said bother you. After we graduate, you'll probably never see him again. We all love you very much, ok? Other than Jack, you're my best friend and I hate seeing you like this. Be happy, please?" As he sat there, I couldn't help but appreciate how he was trying to be there for her, and how everyone was there for her for that matter. She lets out a deep breath, but says nothing.
"Babe, whether what he said is true or not, I love you." I tell her. "Regardless of what he did to you, I love you the way you are. You're perfect to me, and that's all that matters. Now, let's stop the tears and go back to enjoying tonight, how's that sound?" I wipe her tears away as she nods her head. "Besides, don't you want to continue to see my horrible dancing?" She then lets out a small laugh.
"Yeah, I guess that'd be nice." She smiles. I then give her a soft kiss. Just then our song, A Daydream Away, comes on over the speakers. I then look down at Megan. "Was this another surprise?" She knows me too well.
"It might've been." I smile, leaning in to kiss her. "I knew this was one of your favorites of our songs, so I had to give it a special memory for you." The entire song, I stand here and hold Megan as we slowly dance. Then the chorus comes, "you're just a daydream away, I wouldn't know what to say if I had you." As it continues, I sing it to her. I couldn't help but see her smile really big. It was nice to know I was making her happy.
Before I knew it, Prom was ending and we all had to head out. We all go out and get in the limo and practically have a cuddle fest as we head home. All the girls we're so worn out, us guys turned into pillows. Nothing wrong with that, I guess.
