Maybe Next May

I woke up feeling like I hadn't slept for twenty years. Once I finally rolled out of bed, took a shower, and got dressed, I headed downstairs and saw my mom sitting at the table. I went over to the fridge and pulled out a Rockstar then went to the cupboard and grabbed a breakfast bar. I sat down next to my mom and start eating, saving my drink for when I was heading to school.

"Morning honey, how did you sleep?"

"Just great mom."

I know I was being sarcastic but dammit I was tired and I really didn't feel like dealing with Heath, Lisa or Alex's shit today.

"What's wrong honey? All those energy drinks finally keeping you up?"

She let out a small laugh and I just rolled my eyes.

"Actually, it's kind of some guy trouble."

She stopped laughing and got her serious mom face on. That's what I loved most about my mom, I could talk to her about anything and never be worried. She gave the best advice on this sort of stuff, even if it wasn't really something she fully understood.

"Is it about that boy who dropped you off a couple days ago?"

I gave her a small nod and she sighed.

"Why don't you talk to him? Maybe if you explained how you felt you two could be friends?"

I sighed and shook my head,

"Mom, he's popular. He doesn't want to lose that to someone who everyone else thinks is a loser. Plus, I talked to him yesterday. I told him I was gay and that if he couldn't except it, to just get out. Which he did.... I also may have told him that his girlfriend was a bitch, but that's beside the point. He is straight as a rule, on the football team, and part of the group that torments me. I honestly don't want to have anything to do with him anymore. I said what I had to say, I'm done."

My mom sighed and took my hand in hers.

"Honey, if you were really done and finished with him, you wouldn't still be thinking about him now would you? Give him another chance. He may surprise you in the end. "

My mom gave my hand a small squeeze and gave me a tiny smile before she got up and dumped her coffee in the sink. She put on her heels and grabbed her keys before coming back over and kissing my head.

"I'm heading off, be back late so there is money on the counter for pizza. Also, if they hurt you in any way sweet heart I will kick their asses. Keep me posted! Love you!"

She smiled before heading out the door. I chuckled and grabbed my bag and skate board before heading out the door. I put in my headphones and popped open my Rockstar before heading down the sidewalk. All I could think about was what my mom said. Maybe I should give Alex another chance.....

School had gone by relatively slow. I hadn't seen Heath or Alex all day, which was kind of shocking considering I thought Alex would have told everyone by now. I meant what I told him. I would tell anyone that I'm gay. I just was expecting Heath to beat the crap out of me for it.

I sighed as I sat down at lunch with my usual, a bottle of water. Rian wasn't feeling good today so he stayed home and Cass stayed home to take care of him. As I said yesterday, they're so cute! I searched through my iPod for a good song to listen to until the last class of the day. Before I could put in my headphones I felt someone sit next to me.

"Hey Jack."

I spun around, my eyes practically popping out of my head. Sitting next to me, in front of everyone, was Alex Gaskarth.

"A-Alex? Wh-what are you doing?"

"Sitting next to you? Is there a problem with that?"

"W-well n-no but..... what about Lisa and Heath?"

"I realized something about that, and about you bring gay. I just don't give a fuck."

I sat there shocked for a couple more minutes but once my brain finally processed what he said I couldn't help but smile. For the rest of the day we talked, not on paper, but to each other. He didn't pretend like I wasn't even there. We actually joked around, laughed together, talked about bands, basically I figured out that he is perfect.

At the end of the day he asked if I wanted to go over to his place and play some video games or watch a movie. I texted my mom to make sure it was okay, of course she said yes, and then we were heading to his house.

I can't believe this is actually happening.

Okay so.... I lied about having this up yesterday.... Sorry but I uploaded two of my other stories and I kind of passed out after that. Here you go though!
